Sat crying. This isn’t ending or getting better

So sick of this. Back into tier 3. We have followed all the rules. No one in the house since March. I can’t do this all winter. I have two small children and I’m going insane with no family help. People say it’s going to get better but it isn’t. Or it’s months and months away. I can’t stop crying I just want to see my family.

for everyone having an exceptionally shit time at the moment. I know the only thing that has saved my sanity this year has been nursery re opening and having lots of family close enough we could arrange to see outside over the summer.

I have a three year old and 4 month old. Totally relate to being sick of these 4 walls, the constant cooking and cleaning and sad that my 3 year old no longer asks 'what we are doing today', as she did every day pre covid, cos she knows the answer will effectively amount to fuck all.

@MadameBlobby So are over 60's (and those that are vulnerable) meant to isolate forever then? Are they meant to never leave their houses because others won't go into lockdown for them?

I know how you feel, hardly any cases where I live but lumped in a large county with some towns that do and we have to go along with it

If the cause for concern is over 60s getting infected why aren’t there just tighter restrictions on that group? Why do whole industries have to be decimated to protect over 60s?

Because it is not THE cause of concern. It is one. And an important one. But not the only by any means.

All other ages can flood hospitals if numbers get high enough. And there are deaths at any ages. And mortality starts rising significantly at 50, particularly in men.

Plus there is the time spent ill and recovering, and the increasing recognition of long term effects and multi-organ damage.

A family member of us talked exactly like this since the pandemic began. She spent hours on Facebook every day posting conspiracy videos under postings from local politicians or newspaper articles.

She got coronavirus last month and couldn't get out of bed for weeks. And strangely enough there has been no hint of conspiracy talk ever since!

Sheep have vey keen senses and are quick to get away from trouble. It's good to behave like a sheep where COVID is concerned - keep away from trouble!

It would be nice if they released the reasoning/data for each area to explain the tiers. Make the whole thing more transparent.

Sorry, on my way to work so don't know if this has already been answered but they have. If you go right to the bottom of the page in this link and click on either of the attachments, it tells you why your area is in the tier that it is. The criteria have obviously been tightened since before lockdown.

Haha, I agree this person has sadly lost touch with reality, but surely you don't think the mindset is unique to the UK? Or particularly widespread anywhere? It's probably about the same level as people who think the moon landings were faked, maybe a bit more prevalent due to topical relevance.

Well I'm pleased to see that the NHS improved for some people at the turn of the century. My experience of it was dire and got worse and worse. An increase in administrative staff to dismiss my concerns about patient treatment, however.

And, of course, many of the problems that NHS trusts are experiencing now are down to them having to make PFI payments still, rather than pay for staff and equipment that they need.

I don't blame any one political party. I think they all talk up the NHS and run it down, sometimes more subtley than others.

I agree with those who are concerned about the erosion of human rights. And it's possible to believe the virus is real and want to be cautious about it while also being horrified about what is happening to human rights in this country. It's not either/or.

What is "the truth" then? You haven't actually said what it is you think is really going on. Why have so many countries suddenly decided on a programme of "population control"?
