Are you going for ‘one last’ meal out/shopping trip/museum trip?

Am considering going to town tomorrow and maybe having lunch out - can’t decide if it’s a good idea (since who knows when we’ll be able to again, realistically) or really stupid, considering the rising levels of infections. Fwiw I’m young(ish), no health conditions and live in an area that has been tier 1 up until now...

I'm going for a last meal out on Wednesday. I don't want businesses to go under and want to support restaurants.

Hugosmugo · 02/11/2020 14:23

I work in childcare and am squeezing in kids activities before the lockdown..dreading the lockdown to be honest!

SpaceOP · 02/11/2020 14:24

Yes, I'm trying to arrange a drink and light meal with a friend for tomorrow or Wednesday. Frankly, while I am not someone wo is out every night, even as restrictions have eased I have not done a lot so the thought of nothing for another month is too depressing for words.

PurpleDaisies · 02/11/2020 14:25

I’m following the rules as they are until they change on Thursday. Food shop today. Swimming tomorrow. Shopping on Wednesday.

LadyWithLapdog · 02/11/2020 14:25

No but I’d like to get a haircut if I can.

Smartiepants79 · 02/11/2020 14:25

Yep, tier 1 area very low infection rate.I’ve been shopping today (mostly essentials) and hope to go out for lunch on Wednesday for my birthday. Nothing much has changed in the last 24hrs. I’m at no greater risk now than I was yesterday.
In your situation I’d go and enjoy!

Smartiepants79 · 02/11/2020 14:26

Also agree with supporting local business if you can.
I’ve also been to have my nails done as a birthday treat.

Runwayqueen · 02/11/2020 14:26

I am going with DP for breakfast on Wednesday at a local farm cafe.

QueenBlueberries · 02/11/2020 14:27

It's DS' 13th birthday this coming Friday so we are going out tonight for a family meal. That's it.

I would also like to go to a few local high street shops before lockdown to buy a few little Christmas presents.

frenchand · 02/11/2020 14:27

Yes I am tempted - but I did have Covid (I think) back in March/April and am kind of haunted by the 6 month immunity thing - it was a really horrible illness and I don’t want it again! Also don’t want to spread it to others, however indirectly, who are more vulnerable...

Haircut yesterday
Activity and new shoes for the kids today

goodnightsugarpop · 02/11/2020 14:27

Yes, we're coming to the end of a 2 week self isolation so will have 2 days of relative normality between this and the new lockdown. Planning a trip to soft play if possible and a meal out.

EatTheHamTina · 02/11/2020 14:28

No

joystir59 · 02/11/2020 14:29

Going to buy paint and vinyl flooring, doing to friends house for lunch and having other friends round my house for 'film night' all before Thursday.

Ignoringequally · 02/11/2020 14:31

Met a friend at the park with our toddlers today and had a coffee and cake in the cafe. Our local (very small) high street of independent shops have all decided to open late until Wednesday so will go and lend my support with a bit of Christmas shopping. Taking toddler to soft play tomorrow, and to a farm park on Wednesday and older DC swimming Tuesday evening. Also having my hair cut on Wednesday.

joystir59 · 02/11/2020 14:31

I have just taught my last adult craft class until we open up again and that's made me so sad.

frozendaisy · 02/11/2020 14:32

Going to try and fit in a non essential shopping trip whatever non essential means?

Mindymomo · 02/11/2020 14:32

Best of luck anyone going out, where I live in a tier 1 area, shops have queues to get in and restaurants fully booked up to Wednesday.

marriednotdead · 02/11/2020 14:32

I'd like to but I'm working in retail until then, got to dismantle the store and send stuff back to the warehouse for online sale. Only been back from furlough a fortnight

RhubarbTea · 02/11/2020 14:32

Yep. We're in tier 1 low case area, I'm taking DS for a haircut tomorrow, popping to the museum and on Weds we'll take the train a short distance to visit a friend on the beach. We won't be able to see them after that so want to make sure we catch up.
Today I'm picking up a few stocking fillers while I can - assuming our shops aren't stripped bare of such things.

I won't be cinema-ing, eating meals out or going to the pub though in that time. No childcare and don't really feel the need.

CrunchyNutNC · 02/11/2020 14:34

No, i find it hard to enjoy being out and about at the moment.

Not because I think I'd die from covid, but the idea of catching something even remotely flu-like and then simultaneously having DC at home all day every day is very very unappealing. No thanks.

Theforest · 02/11/2020 14:47

No but I need to take a return back to a shop before it's too late argh

Mintjulia · 02/11/2020 14:47

Your age is irrelevant unless you only care about yourself. You can still transmit the virus to other people, resulting in more illness.

BamboozledandBefuddled · 02/11/2020 14:49

Going for a last meal out on Wednesday and a last-but-one tomorrow Grin

chocolatesaltyballs22 · 02/11/2020 14:50

Yes. Had two dinners out during the weekend and lunch out today. Will be at the gym every day till it closes.
