How many people have you touched in the last 6 months?

Went for a walk with a friend the other day and accidentally brushed her arm going through a gate. It felt very odd. Thinking about it, apart from that I really don't think I've touched anyone else outside of my household since march.

Was then talking to another friend about it and she reckoned she'd touched about 20. Not job related, just socially. Wtf?!

So what's your number?? Feel like this is the covid version of the 'how many people have you slept with?' threads!! 🤣

Five - DH and the DCs
And my physio. Well she’s touched me - does that count?

catchyjem · 22/10/2020 07:55

None outside my household.

Ted27 · 22/10/2020 07:55

1 - my son

we go into tier 2 tomorrow, I will be losing my only social contact

Tadpolesandfroglets · 22/10/2020 07:55

None outside my husband and kids.

Othering · 22/10/2020 07:56

Hmmm. Partner, couple of friends, couple of family members, lots of animals and I think that's about it.

Furrybutts · 22/10/2020 07:58

All of my adult children, and my grandchildren. That's it.
I've had an operation since lockdown so had several medical people touch me.

Agree with the op though, as I accidentally bumped into someone in the supermarket and it felt scary and uncomfortable.

Jrobhatch29 · 22/10/2020 07:58

I had a baby in May so flipping loads of people have touched me

myrtilles · 22/10/2020 07:59

3 in household plus mother and sister on one occasion when cases were low. Plus pets

CherryValanc · 22/10/2020 08:00

Outside of my family?

Two - first was a friend was upset and I automatically place my hand on her arm. Immediately realises that was the first time I'd touched anyone in months. Second was very recently. Went into my office for the first time since March, caretaker was do delighted there was someone else there he did the 'elbow bump' (weird enough in itself he's usually a really grumpy.)

Redcrayons · 22/10/2020 08:00

My two children
Only people who have touched me are a GP taking my blood pressure, nurse taking blood and a random child who ran into me.
Miss hugging friends and family.

Fruggalo · 22/10/2020 08:00

Just my household, and I have removed a tick from and (at a separate time but the same person) hugged a friend as she told me her husband was abusing her and she was in tears.

Entrant6 · 22/10/2020 08:00

Hundreds.

Frontline HCP.

TheCountessofFitzdotterel · 22/10/2020 08:01

No-one outside my household.

Lovelydovey · 22/10/2020 08:03

None outside my household - very depressing. The kids have hugged my mum and dad and elbow bump their friends at school and football team mates.

HazeyJaneII · 22/10/2020 08:03

My dh, and dcs (4)
My mum's hand, as she was dying. It felt very strange to remove a glove and to hold her hand in mine, the only time we'd touched in 11 weeks.
The funeral director who put his hand on my shoulder, at her funeral.

TheGriffle · 22/10/2020 08:03

Apart from DH and my DD’s;

My new niece once.
I’ve hugged my dad once since March (his 60th birthday)
My mums hugged me maybe twice since March.
My FIL hugged me when we saw each other for the first time in weeks after the start of lockdown. I told him off as he is vulnerable but it made me cry as he’s not a big hugger and had only hugged me once before on my wedding day.

And that’s it. Quite depressing really. I usually hug my parents at least twice in a visit, I haven’t hugged my 82yo nan since March and I miss it.

Non other than my husband and kids. And I bloody love it. I hate hugs. I hate being touched. I understand the majority hate this but this is my ideal world.

GreyishDays · 22/10/2020 08:08

Woman giving me my flu jab
I think a woman in a shop, as I paid. Think I flinched a bit.
That’s it I think.

fizzyp0p · 22/10/2020 08:08

Other than DP
Hugged Mum twice
Hugged a friend once
I'm not the most tactile person anyway

Aroundtheworldin80moves · 22/10/2020 08:10

A few actually. Its not we go round hugging people it's stuff that's happened spread out since July. Between march and July, the only person I had touched outside of DH and DDs was a neighbours toddler... Who has always been huggy and generally we all thought it was safer to let him have his odd hugs off people rather than confuse him even more.

timehealsmost · 22/10/2020 08:11

I was going to say 2 DH and DD. but remembered I had an operation in June so quite a few more really!

bluebearss · 22/10/2020 08:11

Had a baby in lockdown, so bloody loads of midwives, consultants and surgeons. Then just DP and DC, MIL once or twice and maybe one friend's hand.

MadameBlobby · 22/10/2020 08:12

No one outside my household other than people touching me to deliver medical care - flu jab and smear

fluffiphlox · 22/10/2020 08:13

My husband
My dentist
My hairdresser
The pharmacist who gave me my flu jab
