The fishmonger seems to have taken a definite down turn, no more whole Dover sole or turbot, now it’s all prepared items; 57 types of fishcakes and 143 types of prawns with chilli sauce!

I think that the Christmas items showing now as “Out Of Stock”, will be available to order once they are closer to their date of release. So don’t panic!

I agree ArabellaPilkington the Mutti polpa tomatoes are the best, the difference they make to chillis, stews etc is unbelievable. I used my tins for garden citronella candles in the summer, love the plants Smile

Admittedly the fishmonger person who used to do my orders made them look as if they been using hedge trimmers to fillet, but it was nice to be able to buy fresh hake.

Off the back of the tinned tomato debate I was about to recommend the Bomba tomato purée, especially the unami one, but they've banished that supplier too!

I was flabbergasted today to discover that they don't have round lettuce any more. The selection of dried pasta is poor too if you don't want to pay a small fortune for a fancy brand.

I don't understand why you want or need a smart pass system for Waitrose?

Simply because that usually comes with an option for a reserved slot. I have ocado orders reserved to mid November but I can't reserve anywhere near that far ahead with Waitrose.
If waitrose adopted a similar reserved system and I was confident I could place my weekly shop a month ahead I'd be there in a heartbeat.

Still no Christmas email btw.

@MatildaonaWaltzer

Christmas slot releases yesterday morning and only 10pm in the 23rd left, but also vast amounts of pretty key Christmas food unavailable (M&S stuffing for eg). Are they going to release more lines later or can they really be out of stock the day the slots are released? Doesn’t say much for the supply chain if so (seeming easier at this point to go to the shops, by holding slot for now in case of potential lockdown)

Same. I managed to get a slot on 23rd but not until 10pm and loads of the M&S Christmas food is out of stock. I thought I was going to be able to avoid going out for the annual Christmas order pickup bunfight but apparently not. Hmm

As I said on the other thread, I’m Ocado all the way. I’ve been let down too many times by Waitrose in the past

Re the out of stock items, I’m sure I’ve seen a message/mail where Ocado say ‘don’t worry they'll be plenty in stock nearer the time'

I’ve just got my choc/wine tenner off Ocado so I’m happy paying the £9.99 to get a delivery off them

@MayFayre

And M&S own brand English breakfast tea is unpleasant

Which one is that? I've just had a big box of the M&S Gold teabags delivered...

Finally got my Christmas delivery email just now to let me know that I'll be able to book from tomorrow.

I just got my email, I can book tomorrow, which usually means midnight tonight. Most of the fresh Christmas food will be out of stock at this point, they will be in stock nearer the time.

Got my Christmas email too. Finally.

Also an email telling me my anytime smart pass (that I've had for years) is staying at £2.99 with lots of crowing about how that's lower than the standard £9.99. I'm happy obviously but it does take the piss they have told others that all are charged at £9.99 now and there is no negotiation or discount Hmm

Just got my email too, finally!

Annoyed that the app still won't work though - downloaded it onto my iPad, and it worked perfectly, right up until I logged in, then I got a message telling me it was switched off! So annoying that they are still locking me out of the app yet it works if I'm not logged in so its obviously not turned off, I'm just locked out.

Also had the email about the smart pass - I've been paying £1.99 for over 2 years, now they are raising it to £5.99 per month. Think I will be cancelling after Christmas - fed up of short date items, and poor quality fruit.

I’m still waiting. Got my slot with Waitrose now, so I’ll just get one with Ocado a couple of days after in case it goes tits up with Waitrose, and I’ll just cancel it if I don’t need it. The minute the corona panic is over, I will be cancelling my anytime smartpass too. £9.99 . Pisstakers.

Christmas shopping list has replaced wAiteoae items with m&s and some bizarre selections. The antipasti platter is £5 more than the old Waitrose one. For some reason I've got gluten free stuff in my list, I don't need gluten free so can't work out where the algorithm has got that from. I feel I will need a trip to Waitrose to buy all the things I like for Xmas and just use ocado for booze and basics

I tried to shop just the ocado range the other day. I searched, I selected, I got the Ocado range page, great I thought, then when I scrolled down it was full of bloody M&S stuff.

Somebody doesn't love me ...SadGrin

Nothing. Zilch. Radio silence.

(Maybe they've looked at my shopping record and seen that I generally ignore them at Christmas?)

Got my e-Mail last night but only slots on 21st December left. Oh hum!

Yesterday I tried to change an existing delivery slot for next week. Suddenly lots of slots popped up as alternatives. So they are definitely rationing me to one per week and only 2 weeks ahead. I just wish they would own up rather than pretend the slots have all been booked and 'keep trying'. Is it something to do with maintaining their share price, because it's not good for customer service?
It almost seems a different company. And yes, I'm mourning the loss of 'my Ocado'. Sorry.

PowerslidePanda · 13/10/2020 08:52

I wanted 23 December for Xmas, but could only book the 21st. Between that and the way Ocado have messed me around with this week's delivery, I'll be trying to get a Sainsburys slot instead (whenever those are released).

The debacle this week is that they manged to leave a bag on the van, leaving me without any bread. Fine, mistakes happen. The problem was that they didn't give a shit about it. I phoned them at the time, hoping they could contact the driver - they couldn't but said if I emailed them, they could arrange a redelivery. I dutifully did so, and they ignored my request and issued a refund instead. And just a straight refund at that - nothing for the inconvenience. I contacted them again, saying that wasn't good enough, and they begrudgingly agreed to re-deliver, but apparently they can't sort that via email (in spite of the advice I'd been given previously) - I had to phone them again. So I eventually got my bread, 3 days late - and still absolutely nothing by way of apology for all the hassle.

Now let's imagine it was the Christmas turkey that got left on the van...

Report
PowerslidePanda · 13/10/2020 09:01

To clarify - the re-delivery was booked at as a normal slot and I was charged for the items, cancelling out the refund. And yes - I can only see slots on Fridays, but customer services had no trouble finding a next-day one...
