Carrying on from the old thread....

Still no email about the Christmas slots.

I've got a christmas eve morning slot but am really annoyed that it is costing me £9.99 for the privilege when I have a smart pass.

I'm also finding that there are less available slots generally, so I'm not impressed.

Anyone else had their Favourites go haywire? I keep removing items from favourites but next time I look they are there again even when I haven't ordered them since. It's driving me nuts.

Presumably there is a set limit as well as when I do manage to unfavourite a few things, other items appear at the bottom of the list that weren't showing before

May you all be blessed with a Christmas delivery star this fine Sunday

I've been trying to work out how to remove items from favourites forever. How do you do it?

I've been away the last few years at Christmas so I had no idea. Still think it is a cheek though.

Christmas slot releases yesterday morning and only 10pm in the 23rd left, but also vast amounts of pretty key Christmas food unavailable (M&S stuffing for eg). Are they going to release more lines later or can they really be out of stock the day the slots are released? Doesn’t say much for the supply chain if so (seeming easier at this point to go to the shops, by holding slot for now in case of potential lockdown)

Thank you! It seems obvious now but I've never added favourites manually that way so it never occurred to me (all my favourites have been auto added from being previously ordered)

Yep. There has been a charge of some sort for everyone at Christmas for as long as I can remember.

I've been ordering from Waitrose since M&S came on board Ocado, and have so far been very pleased. But I've hung onto my smart pass as insurance against lockdown and future issues accessing deliveries. I was a bit grumpy at wasting £6.99, but considered on balance it worth it.

So I was delighted to get an email yesterday saying that, as I hadn't placed an order in September, they'd refund my smartpass for the month. Bargain.

My issue with M&S is that everything is actually just a little bit more expensive.

They have been very clever about it and the replacement items, look the same and "cost" the same...but everything is just a little bit smaller..........

I can book deliveries 3 weeks in advance and only once a week, and no Christmas delivery option here either....

On a different note and (not very season appropriate!) does anyone know if Waitrose has stopped doing those Colombian coffee ice cream sticks?

What - I had no idea Christmas slots had been released, not for me they haven't...it feels insulting! SmartPass customer for 14 years...

@lexloofah

It's like there are two or three different Ocado's.

No email but thanks to insomnia was online at 3am and up popped slots for Christmas week after being blanked out previously. All at varying prices, I chose a lunchtime £3.99 one I would have hesitated over 9.99 as already paying full price for smart pass.

It turns out I don't need much Christmas related stuff as getting meat, veg and milk locally so going to use it for the other meals that week

It really does sound like there are several different Ocados.

I have had an anytime smartpass since 2009 and I don't pay a delivery charge for a Christmas delivery. I just went and double checked my account and the delivery charge on my 22nd December delivery is £0.

I am in Somerset. At the moment I feel like a kid peering through the sweetshop window.

Ocado won't let me see any slots beyond the end of October, but I can see the Xmas food that I can't buy for current slots.

I am pretty certain we used to be offered Xmas slots for £9.99 (but it might have been £6.99).

We just used to order for the 20th or 21st (back in the days of long shelf life).

Is it my imagination or have loads of Ocado's brands/stock gone?
There seemed to be limited choices in the 3 for £10 meat/fish, I couldn't even find the fishmonger.

Report
goldpendant · 11/10/2020 18:11

Yep @Madcats I feel like loads of the Ocado own brand stuff has been subbed for M&S own brand (always out of stock) stuff. After Christmas I'm off to Sainsburys! I really miss Waitrose on Ocado but don't know if I can justify it for my full shop.

Why have Ocado stopped doing their own brand of chopped tomatoes? The M&S ones are always out of stock too Angry

Waitrose Christmas delivery round here is awful, very unreliable and loads of missing items.

I got a slot on Friday for 22nd. There were strangely only evening slots left on 23rd and nothing on 24th. Quite happy with what I have though.

I'm finding there's a lot less choice on lots of items, some things not available at all now they've swapped to M & S. Also finding the use by dates shorter than Waitrose.

They haven't? I got some last week.

If they go on offer again, can totally recommend the Mutti ones. They are unbelievably good!

MayFayre · 11/10/2020 18:44

Mutti are the best.

I’ve noticed that Ocado no longer sell matches. And they don’t have a full fat creme fraiche.

And M&S own brand English breakfast tea is unpleasant

Report
Madcats · 11/10/2020 18:47

The Mutti ones are on offer if you buy packs of 3.

Just to be annoying, though, their pizza sauce (which is fab) is selling at £1.99 and Waitrose had it on special for £1.12 in the week.

The dregs of a Mutti pizza sauce can "lift" Ocado's own brand in an Italian dish.

You are right, they have disappeared from the site. I have some ordered for tomorrow, let's see.

I wonder if they have run out and can't get any more ( pandemic effect? surely not yet), they stopped doing a 4 pack of the M&S ones after week one of the switch

I tried the Mutti pizza sauce this week....game changer! Delicious.

I use the tins as plant pots - just drill a few drainage holes in.

@Fuss

No email for me yet either.

I really wish Waitrose did some kind of smart pass/ reserved system. I’d be with them permanently in a heartbeat

I don’t understand why you want or need a smart pass system for Waitrose? I’ve been having Waitrose deliveries for years and am now recognised as a priority customer for booking slots.
As long as you hit the (reduced - used to be £60) £40 minimum shop, there’s no difficulty
