No subs or missing items for us today but we've severely cut back as we're topping up from Waitrose. Just booked my next available slot and they have no 4 pints of semi-skimmed milk available! All the M&S Christmas stock is still showing OOS too.

VanCleefArpels · 26/11/2020 17:33

You can only add Xmas items to your Xmas delivery slot that’s why they are shoeing as OOS for earlier deliveries

Bubbinsmakesthree · 26/11/2020 18:02

I’m still seeing loads of OOS Xmas items when editing my Christmas order Hmm

Me too

@viccat

Cat litter missing for the 3rd of 4th week in a row... thoroughly fed up with their poor stock control on this as it's always in stock for me to order but never turns up. If it was showing unavailable online, at least I could plan better.

Have had to place extra orders from Amazon to make sure I have any at all and it's more expensive there.

@viccat don’t know which litter you use, but zooplus has loads of different ones, good prices, & really quick delivery generally (yodel or DPD)

Do you order it through Ocado or Fetch?
Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 27/11/2020 06:20

Not best pleased.

I'm really sorry, your order has a number of missing products due to technical issues at our warehouse. I'm sorry we couldn't deliver everything on your order this time.

I’m really sorry, but you're missing:• 1 x Ocado Satsumas
• 1 x Alpro Dark Chocolate Dessert
• 3 x Russell's Salmon Fillets Skin On
• 1 x Ocado Cucumber
• 2 x Russell's 2 Seabass Fillets
• 1 x Moy Park Medium Whole Chicken

Sorry, unfortunately there wasn’t a suitable alternative for the above.

No suitable alternative for milk! Puhleeze. I was stocking up the freezer with special offers. Will have to go to Sainsbury's. Pah.

ElephantsAlltheWayDown · 27/11/2020 06:56

New to the thread. I'm a very long term ocado user and got weekly deliveries through all of lockdown 1.0 so felt a strong loyalty to stick with them through the M&S transition. But I hate it. I miss Waitrose so much. I feel like I spend so much more on the weekly shop now and get so much less -- same price for a pot of minced garlic, but the jar is only a quarter of the size, etc. And everything is perpetually out of stock.

I don't really want to switch to just Waitrose because they deliver from the local shop and have much less choice in general, but I've started doing occasional top ups. People get used to their brands and it's a massive ask to completely switch everything up and hope your customers adapt.

Sorry, all of this is very old news on this thread, I just needed to get that out! 😅 No one else in my life understands sob

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 27/11/2020 07:16

We understand, Elephants. Have this virtual hug. I've pretty much decided not to renew my Smart Pass. I'm expecting a huge hike in price. Once I have to think about the cost of deliveries for every order, I strongly suspect I'll make the effort to go to a real life shop instead a lot of the time (certainly once the pandemic recedes). We don't have a car so it makes life much easier getting things delivered, but only if it's reliable. I miss Waitrose too.

Sayitasitis2020 · 27/11/2020 07:39

@ElephantsAlltheWayDown, I get your pain too.
I liked Ocado and I didn't think I'd mind the swap much but I hate it.
I used to buy the organic meat range from Waitrose (no preservatives for mince, sausages, etc) but the M&S range now has sulphites in everything.
Someone reviewed one of the products mentioning the sulphites and their great idea was to remove sulphites from the list of ingredients, which would be great except it's still on the list of allergens!
I too am having to top up my Ocado orders sadly...

tootyfruitypickle · 27/11/2020 07:44

@Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g email in a complaint and ask for compensation, that’s ridiculous. They should send you a voucher.

This week mine was good, all there and the driver reminded me about the bags instead of making a quick dash back to his van!

bruffin · 27/11/2020 08:06

They forgot to attach my £10 for my complaint

Egghead68 · 27/11/2020 08:38

They didn’t take away my carrier bags I left out in an Ocado bag.

Madcats · 27/11/2020 10:13

I don't understand who Ocado's happy shoppers are. Surely people are going to panic and order elsewhere (like I have) if the Christmas stuff is out of stock. How on earth are they going to be able to estimate demand.

I've switched from having 2-3 deliveries a fortnight to 1-2 a month to stock up on obscure or heavy/bulky items my local shops don't stock. I try to get a Waitrose delivery once/fortnight and then visit the city centre shops on foot in between.

Gaspode that's a ridiculous number of omissions (I probably shouldn't mention that we had some Russells salmon last night).

Welcome to Elephants. I find this chat very good for anger management. I have a hunch we might need a new thread by Christmas.

@Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g did you get any chilled stuff? If “technical issues” was a chiller problem it might explain no milk at all...
Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 27/11/2020 10:27

@GiantKitten, I actually got lots of chilled stuff, and a couple of the things that weren't delivered were not chilled, so it's a mystery what's happened. What was missing was mostly on the 3 for £10 offer and a lot of it was destined for the freezer. The milk omission is baffling.

Anyway, acting on the excellent advice here from @tootyfruitypickle, I complained and they're giving me a £10 voucher, so that's good. They've apparently tried to call me to apologise in person, which is overkill! I will check that I actually get the voucher, given @bruffin's experience.

This doesn't fill me with optimism about my Christmas delivery, I must say. In 16 years with Ocado I can hardly recall anything like this happening before.

PoulePouletteEternellement · 27/11/2020 10:30

If “technical issues” was a chiller problem it might explain no milk at all...

Yes, that makes sense. What a nightmare for them, if so. I guess it would be difficult to have an adequate back up plan in place for such an eventuality.

(Still doesn't forgive the times they have failed to find me a single loaf of bread of any description ...)

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 27/11/2020 10:33

My hunch is a robot has had a hissy fit.

PoulePouletteEternellement · 27/11/2020 10:33

Crossed!

Very glad I gave up on them for (most) fresh stuff months ago. Food shopping is more complicated and expensive now - but less infuriating.

Shellingbynight · 27/11/2020 11:35

I don't understand who Ocado's happy shoppers are.

sticks hand up I booked a Christmas slot as soon as they were available, got the day I wanted, and everything was in stock. I suspect happy shoppers don't tend to post here very much, because... well there's nothing much to say except it's all fine.

I do get a Waitrose delivery too every 3 or 4 weeks but it's much harder to get a delivery day/time I want. With Ocado I have a wide selection of days/times available. I like some of the M&S stuff, I miss some of the Waitrose stuff, swings and roundabouts.

VanCleefArpels · 27/11/2020 14:07

I’m a very happy Ocado shopper, have been with them since they started! Hundreds of deliveries barely any subs or missing items in all that time, great customer service when I’ve needed it, got my Xmas delivery booked

BuggerOffAndGoodDayToYou · 27/11/2020 15:32

If someone in SE London is missing cornettos, frozen sweetcorn, frozen roast potatoes, oven chips and two packets of Birdseye chicken in crumb things - I’ve got them! My scampi, mixed veg, fish fingers and frozen berries are MIA.

Wisteria1979 · 27/11/2020 17:08

I am a happy ocado shopper! They have reliably supported me with very few subs for over a decade. But I miss waitrose, in particular the fresh veg pouches that are excellent side dishes to meat / fish etc. So now I get a waitrose delivery every few weeks. Still think ocado are the best around.

ElephantsAlltheWayDown · 27/11/2020 17:23

I was 100% happy with them for over ten years until they swapped to M&S.

IsThisNameTaken · 27/11/2020 17:33

I used to be happy with them, but not impressed recently. No subs or missing items today but it appears I'm back to only being able to book 2 weeks in advance - after being 3 weeks for ages, it was down to 2, then up to 4 and now back to 2! Just wish they'f make their flipping minds up and let me know.
