Also had to queue to get in the app for the first time in months and months this morning. I take it everyone is going wild booking slots after the news re a new lockdown this morning

Wolfcub · 31/10/2020 10:42

I have the app back. So much easier to add to a shop now

CoteFolie · 31/10/2020 11:18

I can't order beyond 14/11 and restricted to one order per week. They've also just doubled my smart pass (ok, £1.99 to £3.99 but still].

And still no app. For the past week, I have had trouble logging into the website on my iPad and been caught in a never ending Captcha cycle.

On the Xmas OOS, it has never happened before. I always thought they locked in the orders so to avoid Xmas disappointment. I wonder if M&S stock systems are not (yet?) geared to online ordering.

mumsiedarlingrevolta · 31/10/2020 11:23

I can book an Ocado slot up til November 28.

Agree loads of OOS both now and in christmas order.

wendz86 · 31/10/2020 11:26

I can only book until the week after next. One order a week as well i think.

Same here apart from my smart pass being £8.99! I think I’m being ripped off!

I also go all excited when it looked like the app was back for me ..... but it wasn’t 😔

Fuss · 31/10/2020 13:36

I have reserved orders to the 26th that I’ve edited and checked out.
This as we know means fuck all as the first thing they did last time was cancel all reserved orders and in many cases didn’t bother to mention it to the customers waiting for them.

lurkingattheback · 31/10/2020 15:23

Regular shopper with a smart pass, but no app access and only able to order 1 week ahead. Just bought a Sainsburys midweek pass, £18 for 6 months. That should hopefully cover me in case of lock down.

PoulePouletteEternellement · 31/10/2020 17:15

Winter is ... here.

Both of these, one after the other, just now. (Guess I could have avoided these terrifying sights by sticking to my usual shopping time of between 3 and 5 in the morning.)

I did 3am shops so many times through lockdown. Hopefully this time they wont unilaterally cancel reserved slots, if they do I'll go down to that depot, short circuit their bloody robots and serve Percy Pig for lunch with an apple in his gob.

Just in time for it to be turned off...
AdaColeman · 31/10/2020 17:52

@GinAtMerlottes You've not missed the boat on Christmas items, they are only now gradually coming into stock and being available to order.

Let's hope another lock down doesn't tip Ocado back into chaos!

EveLe · 01/11/2020 10:20

Still no app for me, but I'm ok with that because I've just been able to set up Ocado Reserved again!

I paused it about a month ago, to try and change the delivery time - we had 9.30 - 10.30 and the driver was constantly turning up at 9 when I'm on school run, and acting all annoyed I wasn't home! So paused it to try and change delivery day to Saturday, then they refused to let me set it back up again!

But, finally today I've been able to set it up for Saturdays instead - first delivery not for 30 days, but I have a slot booked for the 14th so I can manage with that, and hopefully if they don't cancel Reserved again, then I should get a delivery on 19th December, which is the last delivery date before Christmas slots begin.

So lovely to get my Waitrose order today. And lovely free samples too! A huge wedge of Parmesan and two little bottles of a new mixer drink. Yippee!

wendz86 · 01/11/2020 19:38

Just a warning I was meant to be able to change my order for tomorrow up to 10 pm but they just messaged saying I can’t amend it so don’t leave till last min . Thankfully I’d amended earlier .

BatSegundo · 01/11/2020 20:26

Me too @wendz86. Got as far as the check out and then it all went poof! Spent the best part of an hour on the phone to be told some flannel about vans and stock. Another nail in the coffin. If I could get regular slots with anyone else, I'd be off like a shot. Expensive, everything out of stock and unreliable too. I used to love Ocado Sad

Tuliptulip · 01/11/2020 20:50

Aaaaargh - am trying to sort out this week’s order. I want spinach and ricotta filled pasta. Waitrose Essential Spinach and Ricotta Tortellini used to be my go to - currently costing 57p per 100g on the Waitrose website. Cheapest on Ocado is 86p. As I want to buy quite a few for the freezer that sort of price difference is significant for me Sad

Tuliptulip · 01/11/2020 21:03

... and no pine nuts. Ocado, M&S, all other brands (including Daylesford Shock) - all out of stock. Really?! And obviously I need to stick with Ocado hoping they don’t dump me during lockdown like they did last time Angry

Arghh, same thing happened to me - so annoying and would have appreciated a text saying to amend in the next 30 mins or something rather than sorry you can't make any changes now. Luckily I had amended yesterday, but still had a few last minute changes to make. Anyway lesson learnt!
Onceuponatimethen · 01/11/2020 21:51

@wendz86 me too - exactly the same

popgoeshertail · 02/11/2020 01:09

Anyone else noticed the "book your Christmas slot" star has disappeared literally overnight. I didn't have much confidence in being able book one but it was nice to have a tiny slither of hope that I might.

The star is still there for me, but they seem to have taken away the ability to book delivery for the third week without notice, so I'm back to being able to only book two weeks in advance.
WinterWalking · 02/11/2020 10:30

@GinAtMerlottes

Sorry to jump in.... I have an Ocado slot booked for Christmas, but so much is showing OOS, especially items you may only really want at Christmas such as prepared sprouts etc. Is this because I have missed the boat to add them, or am I trying to add them too early? I have Christmas shopped with Ocado for years and years and don’t remember ever having this issue before. It seems odd they wouldn’t let you order what you want now so they can plan production?

I’ve emailed them twice and got wishy washy nonsense back both times.

I wish I knew the answer to this - it's driving me mad.

The stock control just seems so awful. Just about every remotely Christmassy item has 3/4 of the choice showing as out of stock.

I also asked them and got a load of non commital BS back.

Once the world straightens up, it'll be off the Waitrose for me, I think.

bruffin · 02/11/2020 11:44

They were out of stock the first day. I assumed that they would be available nearer the time

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 02/11/2020 11:52

Stock control used to be superlative but doesn't seem anything like as good now. I was looking at my next order over the weekend. I had put down one tin of baked beans and thought I'd increase that to two (we know how to live! Grin). No more stock available! Of M&S baked beans? Why on earth not? It's not perishable, it's an everday basic, they should have enormous stocks of things like that to fall back on. (I suppose it could have been lockdowns-on-the-way-clear-the-shelves panic buying to blame.)

There's another item I buy fairly regularly which I can't get now. It's still on the website but always out of stock, every single week for a couple of months now. I hope this doesn't mean it's going to be de-listed.
