How many people do you know who have Covid symptoms right now and where are you?

I'm in S London, I am pretty sure I've had it but tests were not readily available when I had my symptoms in March. DH and DC didn't have symptoms so no idea if asymptomatic. Quite a lot of colleagues had it, nearly everyone had symptoms before schools closed in March (I work in a school). At the beginning of lockdown we were delivering food etc to families who were isolating, but we stopped needing to do that by about the end of April. I don't know if anyone in my school community or in my own circle who has had symptoms for a good few months. I'm guessing it's different in different areas and I was wondering what other peoples experiences are?

I don't know anyone who has symptoms right now. I do know people who have had it at the beginning of lockdown, my mum being one. I don't know anyone in the school community who has had it, no teachers at DS's school have had to isolate.

I don’t know anyone who has symptoms now - I’m in Norfolk. Almost everyone we knew - including us- had a terrible time of it in early / mid March, unfortunately they weren’t testing the general population then so none of us will know if we had it or not!

HulaHoop31 · 14/08/2020 22:48

I’m in the North West. Currently on local lockdown but in an area where cases aren’t actually high. I know of no one with symptoms and don’t know anyone who has actually had Covid

ScorpioSphinxInACalicoDress · 14/08/2020 22:48

None.
Italy.

During the last 5 months I've known 4 people in total who have had the virus, one of whom died. All in the UK.

manicinsomniac · 14/08/2020 22:56

None
South East

changemynn · 14/08/2020 22:57

Absolutely nobody - I’m in Aberdeenshire . I’ve only known of two people that have been diagnosed since March . Both nurses .

Socialdistancing · 14/08/2020 23:00

Midlands. I know one person currently with symptoms but negative test.
Several in March and April

DebbieFiderer · 14/08/2020 23:01

None, Surrey. In total I know 3 people who had it (confirmed), one of whom died, all work colleagues (NHS), no friends outside of work who have had it, confirmed or suspected.

Socialdistancing · 14/08/2020 23:01

And one in July actually

MondeoFan · 14/08/2020 23:01

Nobody at all South East

usernotfound0000 · 14/08/2020 23:11

I'm in West Yorkshire. I know a few people who had some symptoms back in March but no-one poorly enough to be tested. I know of noone with symptoms now. I literally don't know anyone who has tested positive throughout.

DownWhichOfLate · 14/08/2020 23:13

None in Wiltshire.

nancy75 · 14/08/2020 23:16

None, London. Know lots of people who were unwell end of feb & throughout March but only 1 that was tested (positive)
Think I’ve had it, had 3 weeks of weird illness with cough, temp & complete loss of taste & smell (quite different to a normal cold loss of smell)

DeadButDelicious · 14/08/2020 23:22

None.

North west. My area isn't currently subject to a local lock down and our number of cases have been quite low.

I don't know anyone who's actually been confirmed as having had it. Lots of speculation (myself and DH included, we had a very strange illness at the end of last year that with the benefit of hindsight looks a lot like it might have been COVID) but no confirmed cases in my social circle.

stayathomer · 14/08/2020 23:23

Me in Ireland

RightOnTheEdge · 14/08/2020 23:27

North Yorkshire, none.

The only person I know who's had it is my Mum. We only know because she had a free anti body test and it came back positive.
She thinks she must have had it late Feb/ early March because she remembers feeling rough.

amusedtodeath1 · 14/08/2020 23:40

Three currently, North West.

hiredandsqueak · 14/08/2020 23:47

None, I don't know anybody who has had any symptoms throughout tbh. The only people I know who were ill with "a virus" were ill in February.

HandsOffMyRights · 14/08/2020 23:52

None.
West Midlands, very high rates in my city.
Not met anybody who's had symptoms at any point.

june2007 · 14/08/2020 23:53

None.

lljkk · 14/08/2020 23:55

I heard that someone at work had compatible symptoms back in late Feb or March. My cousin in California actually tested positive in early July (her only symptom was loss of sense of smell). I haven't heard about anyone else I know having a single relevant symptom since January. I live in Norfolk.

I know 3? other people who know someone who tested positive, or even died with covid.

DramaAlpaca · 14/08/2020 23:58

I'm in a fairly rural part of the west of Ireland and haven't come across anyone who's had symptoms or has had it.

userxx · 14/08/2020 23:58

None. North west.

thatonesmine · 15/08/2020 00:01

I don't know anyone who's ever had symptoms or tested positive, not even friends/relatives of friends. South Yorkshire.

Juanmorebeer · 15/08/2020 00:07

Zero. Not one. I'm in a local lockdown area and work in a front line keyworker role in an organisation that has thousands of employees. We've not had a single case at work since back in April.

Don't know anyone who has had symptoms or a positive test without symptoms throughout the whole thing.

However myself and all my family (not just household) and many friends were very ill with something in mid Feb.
