How many people do you know who have Covid symptoms right now and where are you?

I'm in S London, I am pretty sure I've had it but tests were not readily available when I had my symptoms in March. DH and DC didn't have symptoms so no idea if asymptomatic. Quite a lot of colleagues had it, nearly everyone had symptoms before schools closed in March (I work in a school). At the beginning of lockdown we were delivering food etc to families who were isolating, but we stopped needing to do that by about the end of April. I don't know if anyone in my school community or in my own circle who has had symptoms for a good few months. I'm guessing it's different in different areas and I was wondering what other peoples experiences are?

I'm in GM, I dont know anyone who has symptoms or has a positive result right now. I know of only 1 person that had it in March before lockdown no one since, and I'm in a stricter lockdown area!
I can count quite a few who was ill over Xmas time though with what would of 100% been assumed to be covid if they had that same illness now.

Egghead68 · 16/08/2020 07:27

@ARudeTerriblePerson yes - may be a local resurgence.

bumblingbovine49 · 16/08/2020 07:34

None now

Niece had it in April ( confirmed by antibody test in July)
Niece's FIL in May (70s, diabetic, heart condition) recovered after a short hospital admission Not sure if any ongoing issues.

A good friends brother ( in his 50s,) died of it in Aprril

LioneIRichTea · 16/08/2020 07:57

I don't know anyone who's ever had symptoms or tested positive, not even friends/relatives of friends. South Yorkshire.

Same. Hampshire.

Lurchermom · 16/08/2020 08:05

No one; a few people who have been off for symptoms but all had negative tests.
Our neighbours we are pretty sure had it start of lock down as whole family was poorly and the lady has had on going ill health for a while afterwards (all stuff you get from a low immune system) but it was before you couldn't get tested if you didn't go to hospital. We think we may have had it very early March, but not seriously.
Don't know anyone who has died.

Sunshiney1981 · 16/08/2020 08:33

None.
NW lockdown area.

cicatrix1 · 16/08/2020 08:51

Nobody.I'm in Edinburgh.

Frazzled2207 · 16/08/2020 08:57

greater manchester. Know literally nobody personally that’s had it at all the whole time.

A nurse friend know several who’ve had it though and I know someone did die with it very locally.

dementedma · 16/08/2020 09:02

None whatsoever. Dont know anyone who has had it either. Central Scotland.

Allihearischasemarshallskye · 16/08/2020 09:14

Central Scotland (Lanarkshire). I do not know anyone who’s had Covid .

islockdownoveryet · 16/08/2020 09:24

None in fact I don't know a single person who's had it .
I think I had it earlier this year before lockdown before the figures . I know a lot of people who think they had it earlier this year .
I know it's not a thread about what's gone wrong but it my personal opinion the government fucked up not doing anything at the beginning of the year .
It was around in January as that's when I think I had it.
They already think it was in Italy and France in December so it didn't take till early March to arrive here .

110APiccadilly · 16/08/2020 09:32

None. I'm in Wales. DH and I had the smell/taste thing back in Feb, but we hadn't been abroad and that wasn't being widely reported as a symptom then, so no test, no idea if we've had it.

I don't think I know a single person who's had it for sure. I know about 10 people who had symptoms back when you couldn't get tests just because you had symptoms.

FredaFox · 16/08/2020 13:48

I got my test results this morning, negative
Nobody my friend has been in contact with has been found positive but her gym has closed as they had a few positive cases so it’s looking like she got it there

HeresMe · 16/08/2020 13:53

None in South Yorkshire as well. People saying none reinforces it's bollocks.

SaturdaySue · 16/08/2020 20:38

I only know of one person who has definitely had it. They had mild symptoms but were tested because of their job.
I do have a fairly small circle of friends and I live in a quiet area of the country.

My sister works in the NHS and she knows hundreds of people who have had it and lots of people who have died.

BikeTyson · 16/08/2020 20:40

None.

I don’t know anyone who has officially had it, but know 2 people who probably did back in March/early April.

BikeTyson · 16/08/2020 20:40

That’s in Newcastle, btw.

onemouseplace · 16/08/2020 20:44

I know a few people who have definitely had it (antibody tests - work for NHS trust).

DD had a high temp (39.4) yesterday so we dutifully trotted her off for a test this morning and are waiting for the results. Temp was gone this morning, so I very much doubt it was the rona.

CoodleMoodle · 16/08/2020 20:48

Zero. Don't know anybody who has had it, or anybody with symptoms.

Live near the top end of West Sussex.

Wishfulthinking1977 · 16/08/2020 20:57

South West here, zero cases for months, no deaths in anyone that know or anyone I know knows, I know of 3 confirmed cases before lockdown, 2 flew back from verona at the height of italys cases both were in hospital, fine now, 1 elderly gent, hospitalised as well with pneumonia again fine now, but I know of at least 10 myself included that had been in close contact with someone who worked with one of those cases that all had very mild symptoms at the beginning of lockdown including some vulnerable and elderly people and small children again all fine now x
