Carrying on from the last Ocado thread that is about to fill up. Still haven’t been given a toblerone yet.

They have been in meltdown for months and it is far more random than that

It certainly feels random! Hmm

Ontheboardwalk · 10/07/2020 22:25

Been with Ocado for years. Cancelled anytime pass January this year when they tried to charge me £9.99 per month

I tried Waitrose but was very disappointed with subs and none deliveries. I ordered 6 bread rolls and was given no offer of substitution whatsoever

Went back to Ocado in March for £59.99 for anytime yearly pass

I know they’ve been bad for lots of people. To me they’ve been great with a weekly delivery from the start now every 3 days. Meant a lot to my vulnerable/isolated extended family

I was going to cancel when they moved to M&S but will give them a chance now. I do feel for those still unable to access deliveries

Randomfires · 10/07/2020 22:38

My smart pass is £10.99 a month even though I’m spending around £200 a week. I phoned to try and get a reduction and they just said they would cancel it. They didn’t give a shit. Why do they not care about my business?

No toblerones either the fuckers

Going to go to Waitrose

LloydBC · 10/07/2020 22:41

@Randomfires feel exactly the same. How can they reduce the cost for some to £2.99/£3.99 and so on and then refuse to discount long term loyal customers. The fact that pricing is so inconsistent has really shocked me.

Megan2018 · 11/07/2020 10:00

@Randomfires the trick is to cancel, then they try to win you back. You have to be prepared to follow through though which is tricky right now.
We treat the Ocado renewal just like everything else-electricity, insurance etc and play hardball

chuffedasbuttons · 11/07/2020 10:27

Warning for those switching to Waitrose
You are at the mercy of your local store. What they stock, how long that stock has been sitting there (ie what are your community buying).

Mine is in the middle of OAP city. Their stock is appalling think no large tins of beans, always substituted with half size. No own brand coke or anything at all in fact. The only decent thing is you can buy a single onion...... but you have to go to Tesco for all the things Waitrose didn't have.

If you mostly buy branded items (Heinz, warburton etc) then Ocado are better.

But Ocado are now shit. They can't seem to track their stock levels at all - I wonder if Waitrose are doing this deliberately to them.

I wanted Waitrose dog food - been out of stock for weeks. Went to edit my order half hour before deadline and it's back in stock. So I bought 6!

There's a massive M&S opening right near me soon so I will probably let my 10 year Ocado account lapse.

And I got a Toblerone. Only one mind.

PerditaProvokesEnmity · 11/07/2020 11:21

Trouble is, Ocado have shown us just what happens to 'disloyal' customers. On a previous thread people who'd been SmartPass holders for a decade but cancelled at the start of this year were completely abandoned when lockdown hit.

So wary people like me are now painfully suspended over a barrel, waiting for the second wave ...

Papyrus · 11/07/2020 12:07

I pay £1.49 for a midweek smart pass. No Toblerone though! 😂

AdaColeman · 11/07/2020 12:51

I'm hoping for a Toblerone on Monday! Grin

RogueV · 11/07/2020 13:37

£6.99 for anytime pass
It was free for years and years
I tried to get them to go lower but apparently they aren’t doing any smart pass offers right now

Glad to be a Star Reviewer again - DH does like the freebies

LloydBC · 11/07/2020 14:20

@RogueV when did you renew at that price?

FlamingoAndJohn · 11/07/2020 14:33

Mine is £7.99 a month.

CarlaH · 11/07/2020 14:40

@WTFisthisabout

I've namechanged since I last posted on this thread.

I haven't heard a peep out of Ocado since March and I was totally blocked from the site so I cancelled my smart pass. I signed up for email alerts when they have slots like it suggests on the holding page. Nothing. I still get the same holding page that says if I can't log in, I am not on their priority list but... suddenly a few weeks ago, it started letting me log in. There's no restriction on how may slots I can book but I can't book more than 3 days ahead but there is plenty of availability every day.
They want £9.99 for a smart pass but it's better than £7.99 for a single delivery.

I heard from a reliable source that the "prioritising our most loyal customers" blurb is not entirely true. They have been in meltdown for months and it is far more random than that. That just adds insult to injury!

I haven't been able to get into the site for months now.

Was moaning to a friend of mine that I have filled in the contact form and heard nothing.

She told me that she has this very week been offered priority status and told she can place an order now and as often as she would like.

I asked whether she was a regular customer who has been locked out so far and she said no, she's only ever had one order with them and that was at the end of last year.

So I would definitely agree that they are officially in some sort of meltdown and it certainly appears random to me.

WTFisthisabout · 11/07/2020 14:57

Finally, I got an email from Ocado! The first I've had from them since March.

I can see slots up to 3 days in advance and have a delivery every 7 days, according to the email. Great. That's actually worse than what I currently have - slots up to 3 days in advance but there hasn't been any restriction on how many deliveries I can have. Not that I would be selfish enough to have multiple deliveries per week but I start adding things to my basket from day 1 after a delivery and it offers me slots straightaway.

Quarantino · 11/07/2020 19:41

How does one become a star reviewer?

bruffin · 11/07/2020 20:17

If you review some products, then occassionally you get an email with codes for 4 or 5 free items and the ask you to review them
Its quite a selection of stuff from soap to coffee. You dont have to take the items if you dont want to.

Fuss · 13/07/2020 16:06

How does one become a star reviewer?
You're chosen randomly by Ocado unfortunately. I don't think there is any way you can just apply.

Looks like Ocado are 'seeding' us again. The App is now available to a chosen few.

AdaColeman · 13/07/2020 16:19

A long list of substitutions in my order today, almost all were Waitrose items, so it seems these are seriously not being replenished now, not too good with six weeks still to go before the change over date.
Several of the substitutions were completely different in all ways from the original item ordered.
Not even a Toblerone to keep me sweet!

RogueV · 14/07/2020 11:28

@LloydBC

It was before Covid - 3 months free then £6.99

LloydBC · 14/07/2020 11:36

@RogueV thank you - I had the same deal pre Covid and wonder if they’ve just decided that since they are in such high demand they won’t negotiate for the time being. I don’t want to leave but not happy about paying £9.99 per month...

GiantKitten · 14/07/2020 15:47

They’re spoiling me today. Look at the huge saving they offered me as a flash sale Grin

My any time smart pass increased from £4.99 to £7.99 last month.

I grumbled (anonymously I think!) on Twitter when they first notified me it was going to increase & the reaction was merely to give me the link to the cancellation page Hmm

PowerslidePanda · 14/07/2020 17:48

I've been upgraded from a delivery every 7 days to every 5 days Shock

I wish they'd do away with needing to finalise orders 2 days in advance though

Wolfcub · 14/07/2020 19:01

Me too Powerslide

The power balance is on their side right now. I don't know if they realize that won't always be the case.
