Carrying on from the last Ocado thread that is about to fill up. Still haven’t been given a toblerone yet.

I’ve also just had an email saying I can have a delivery every 5 days instead of 7.

Lucky me 😒

FredAstaireAteMyHamSandwich · 14/07/2020 20:50

I also got the upgrade email from 7 to 5 days. So customers are obviously dropping off....

@ElizabethMainwaring

£6.99 for anytime pass. The prices mentioned seem so random. So far we've had £1.99, £2.99, £3.99, £6.99 and £8.99.
We’re paying £9.99! I’m being robbed!

Maybe that’s why I can get a delivery every two days if I want (I don’t). And they’ve emailed today to say they’re switching the app back on and I’m one of the first customers to get access.

Possibly because I’m a mug who pays £9.99 a month (it wasn’t always that high but went up when our offer ended).

PowerslidePanda · 14/07/2020 21:01

They said today that they have 800,000 customers, but also a waiting list of 1 million wanting to join

www.theguardian.com/business/2020/jul/14/ocado-has-waiting-list-of-1-million-customers-wanting-to-sign-up

Yellowbutterfly1 · 15/07/2020 06:37

I don’t believe they have a waiting list.
That’s probably the people who tried to join In march having never shoplifter food online before and were basically just trying everywhere.
I’m sure since then they are back shopping in the supermarkets or with another online retailer.

Yellowbutterfly1 · 15/07/2020 06:37

Sorry, shopped not shoplifter

Also people who will have tried to register with a second email address if they were seeing screens of doom on their usual Ocado account.
PowerslidePanda · 15/07/2020 12:51

Yeah, I certainly don't believe the waiting list translates to anywhere near a million actual future customers!

Goslowlysideways · 15/07/2020 18:26

Three emails in two days telling me I can now book every 5 days. Still no offer of a toblerone or offer of any sort.
I will not rest until I have a toblerone.

I had to go to M&S today for a relative and I was shocked at how crap the sell by dates are on food. Another reason to jump ship.

FredAstaireAteMyHamSandwich · 16/07/2020 11:14

I went to M&S recently and the prices are much higher than Waitrose, even for basic stuff. So sorry to see many Waitrose items disappearing From Ocado shelves.

During the height of lockdown, I ordered food some weeks directly from Waitrose (no charge for deliveries above a certain amount) because I was sceptical about the loss of Waitrose products. Unfortunately, I found that I have certain items which I can find only from Ocado, so I am changing to ordering principally from Waitrose with one order a month from Ocado for those extra things and dropping my Pass. Still works out cheaper in the end!

Suspect I might lean towards that way myself. Pains me to stay with Ocado but, as I think I've said before, it worries me if this were to all go tits up again and I've cancelled my pass I'm going to be stuck in the mile long tesco line in the middle of winter.

I shall stay until Christmas for now, perhaps nip to Waitrose myself for bits for the freezer. I've noticed Ocado replacing things and to be fair I use their baby wipes now as they no longer stock the Waitrose ones and they are perfectly fine.
I have some Ocado Salted Caramel and Pecan Ice Cream coming later, and they have introduced a Rum & Raisin so might not be all bad 😂

Standrewsschool · 16/07/2020 13:13

My fee went up from £3.99 to £6.99. Interestingly, I had a second, non-smart passion a second email account. I’d get £10-off type offers on that account. Haven’t had any emails on that account, and suddenly got one in the last week.

No Toblerone

Standrewsschool · 16/07/2020 13:14

Meant to say, haven’t any emails for week.

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 17/07/2020 15:01

I've just had an email from Ocado about marmalade. It's toecurlingly twee.

So, all in all, we’re replacing one jar (marma-trade), keeping 24 (marma-stayed) and introducing nine (marma-upgrade) to our marmalade range. So, whether you’re a fine peel, thick peel or no peel, from September, at ocado.com, you’ll have a better range of marmalade – and everything else, too. And we can’t wait to share it with you.

The gist is they will no longer stock the one jar of marmalade they get from Waitrose and it will be replaced by lots of new M&S marmalade and they will still have everything else. My response to that is suspicion. This is like a train or bus company slashing the timetable of a service they no longer want to run until eventually there's one bus every other week leaving at 4am if there's an R in the month, and then saying there's no demand for that route any more so they're scrapping it. Surely they used to stock far more than one type of marmalade from Waitrose?

Slowly but surely various Waitrose own brand products I got from Ocado are going out of stock and not re-appearing. I don't mind that much if there's a decent Ocado own brand equivalent, but there isn't always. I confidently expect the M&S own brand stuff to be far more expensive than Waitrose.

I think there may be a parting of the ways on the horizon.

CountessDracula · 17/07/2020 15:06

I've given up on Ocado. I've shopped with them since they started and they wouldn't give me a slot during lockdown despite confirming I was high risk, several people I know who aren't high risk still got them.

Luckily Waitrose and Sainsburys (both of whom I had accounts with but only used for occasional deliveries and holidays in the UK where ocado don't deliver) said yes, so I have been using them and NFW would I ever go near ocado again.

I don't like M&S food either, so another reason to bin them.

chuffedasbuttons · 17/07/2020 20:13

They sent me a survey email yesterday. I was rather scathing.
I cancelled this weeks order and went to Tesco

Saffronesque · 17/07/2020 23:38

my parents - 4 miles away in London - have an account which they get me to manage, 1 delivery a week, upto 3 weeks.

Their orders don't need finalising till 4pm the day before delivery.

My orders are still 11.30pm 2 days ahead of delivery. Which is a bit of a pita.
But, hey, at least we can get deliveries!

bruffin · 18/07/2020 10:29

Has anyone found items being added to their regulars?

PerditaProvokesEnmity · 18/07/2020 10:55

Yes, it's annoying. I just delete them.

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 18/07/2020 11:45

I find the 'Create order' one-click thing scarily accurate. It even correctly guesses where I would want to order two of a thing to get a discount.

Wolfcub · 18/07/2020 12:56

Gaspode what is this create order thing of which you speak? Is this another example of Ocado privilege only some of us have?

Onceuponatimethen · 18/07/2020 13:04

No toblerone and spend at least £150 and often much more each week

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 18/07/2020 13:09

This is what I see. 'Place an order in seconds' is what I click.

Just looked at Ocado Reserved.
Does anybody know how far in advance they reserve a slot?

I have deliveries booked already for the next 3 wednesdays, if I sign up for Ocado reserved, will they book my next delivery in 3 weeks times when it becomes available next Wednesday or is it just done for the following week only?
