Carrying on from the last Ocado thread that is about to fill up. Still haven’t been given a toblerone yet.

Still no toblerone.
Do you think Waitrose will do a smart pass style thing?

Wolfcub · 09/07/2020 21:03

Whoever mentioned Colombian coffee stocks I bloody love you

BentBastard · 09/07/2020 21:23

It's all so random. I've had two toblerones.

FredAstaireAteMyHamSandwich · 09/07/2020 21:26

I’m paying £8.99 in London. They probably think they can take the piss, but not everybody in London is a millionaire...No toblerone either. Has anyone else in SE London had free chocolate?

I pay £3.99 for Anytime pass. Have done for ages. Think it was £2.99 on a 'trial' for years too but they did put it up. Wouldn't be impressed if it went up much more - I'm still only ordering fortnightly and before lockdown it was probably once every 2-3 weeks.

BTW I have been trying to get Waitrose delivery for months online (on my laptop) and have never seen a single free slot. I downloaded the app on phone and saw several immediately - could be just that I'd not been able to look during the day much before but could more easily on my phone... but will be considering that if availability lasts!

ElizabethMainwaring · 10/07/2020 05:20

£6.99 for anytime pass.
The prices mentioned seem so random.
So far we've had £1.99, £2.99, £3.99, £6.99 and £8.99.

LloydBC · 10/07/2020 08:10

I cannot believe the variations in SP price!

I’m in the SE (not London) and been paying £6.99 for years. Every year they have email to say there’s a price increase, I say I’m going to cancel and they offer 3 months free followed by £6.99 p/m.

A few weeks ago I got the email and responded as I always do only to be told the only membership option is Anytime @£9.99 and absolutely no discounts available.

I even escalated as a complaint but have had no luck. Feel like they are capitalising on people’s worry about getting slots and it’s not ok.

So frustrating to know that there are such varying prices and clearly they do offer discount...

Yellowbutterfly1 · 10/07/2020 08:11

I’m suddenly receiving a ‘Low Price Promise’ voucher weekly. Not a large amount but interesting that I never received one before now weekly since about May.

CrunchyCarrot · 10/07/2020 08:48

I have only had one Toblerone! I am feeling neglected. Grin

I feel that getting delivery slots is still nowhere near back to pre-lockdown normal. I still book about 2 weeks in advance, and even then I often either can't get the day I want nor a morning slot. I mean, I'm grateful to be able to get a slot at all but am surprised it's still like this.

My smart pass membership amount has gone up over time. It was £4.99 in 2017 but is now £9.99. (I'm in the MIdlands). It's not called an 'anytime' pass but it effectively is, as I can order any day of the week.

PerditaProvokesEnmity · 10/07/2020 08:54

Does no one on this thread have any inside info on how Ocado organise SmartPass prices? Grin

It's unfathomable. I had the email saying my £5.99 payment would stay the same, even though the standard price was now - I forget how much, but more. I'm mildly envious of those paying less. I did get a huge discount at the start and then paid £3.99 for a good while - think I've paid £5.99 for less than half of my ten years with them. But I'm Shock at people being made to pay far more than I am.

I'd just like to know ...

bruffin · 10/07/2020 10:05

So far we've had £1.99, £2.99, £3.99, £6.99 and £8.99
Missed me out im £7.99 borders north of London. I did get 5 toblerones though Grin but no more now.

Fuss · 10/07/2020 10:29

I've just pulled up my emails:

2013 - £9.99
2014 - £6.99
2015 - £2.99 (Midweek)
2016 - £4.99 (Midweek)
2017 - £2.99 (Midweek)
2018 - £2.99 (Midweek)
2019 - £4.99 9Midweek)
2020 - £2.99 (Midweek, Cancelled end January)
2020 - Free Anytime after I pitched a shit fit at them 😂

FlamingoAndJohn · 10/07/2020 12:08

I have only had one Toblerone! I am feeling neglected.

Count yourself lucky. I’ve not had a one!

Piratetree · 10/07/2020 12:53

I’ve had no toblerone, no money off vouchers, nothing.

I’m fed up with them now, used them for years and years but my shopping has been shit since COVID-19. I know all supermarkets have had supply issues, I know everywhere stopped offers for a bit, I know prices have gone up in general but I think Ocado have completely taken the piss. And the quality has gone way downhill. The few times stuff I buy has been on offer it doesn’t actually come or is substituted for more expensive full price stuff so even with the percentage match it costs more.

The main reason I used ocado was because the quality was consistently good and because you could almost guarantee you’d get everything you ordered but this is no longer the case on either count. I paid a year upfront for my pass so will keep using it for now but once it ends I won’t renew.

EveLe · 10/07/2020 12:55

I pay £1.99 for anytime, have done for almost 2 years now!

Started off about 3 years ago, my first ever order I had a 12 month free trial - when that ran out I let it lapse.

About a month later they gave me a free trial 6 month mid week pass, also let that lapse.

When it ran out they offered me 6 months free anytime, followed by 6 months at £1.99. That was about 2 years ago next month, and they’ve just kept taking £1.99 per month so I’ve let it run.

Was planning on cancelling it when they cancelled my Reserved slot, but they've let me keep booking the same slot every week so I've kept it.

Can only order every 7 days though, and not a single toblerone :(

Goslowlysideways · 10/07/2020 15:36

OP I’m SE London and NO TOBLERONE. I’m going to riot if this continues.
I’m so fed up with them, the quality of the veg has definitely gone down.
I’ve had no special offers and of course no toblerone.

Goslowlysideways · 10/07/2020 15:37

I might have to go and buy a toblerone.

bruffin · 10/07/2020 15:52

Dh stole my last toblerone Sad

WTFisthisabout · 10/07/2020 16:01

I've namechanged since I last posted on this thread.

I haven't heard a peep out of Ocado since March and I was totally blocked from the site so I cancelled my smart pass. I signed up for email alerts when they have slots like it suggests on the holding page. Nothing. I still get the same holding page that says if I can't log in, I am not on their priority list but... suddenly a few weeks ago, it started letting me log in. There's no restriction on how may slots I can book but I can't book more than 3 days ahead but there is plenty of availability every day.
They want £9.99 for a smart pass but it's better than £7.99 for a single delivery.

I heard from a reliable source that the "prioritising our most loyal customers" blurb is not entirely true. They have been in meltdown for months and it is far more random than that. That just adds insult to injury!

covidmonkey · 10/07/2020 18:49

I couldn't log in Ocado for ages but today I got an email that there is slots free. I could see three days and slots were £6.99. I am not going to order from Ocado because we have gotten used to Sainsbury's.

tootyfruitypickle · 10/07/2020 20:35

Are they still giving everyone else free toberlones Angry

WTFisthisabout · 10/07/2020 20:41

Nope. No Toblerones for me. I got free botulism with my tinned sweetcorn though! I didn't even get the recall email when I was "blacklisted" from Ocado and had to claim the refund from the manufacturer. Luckily my DM got an email and told me before I ate them.

PerditaProvokesEnmity · 10/07/2020 20:41

everyone else is damn right ... Angry

Luckily I don't like Toblerone. Grin

Free salted caramel ice cream would be nice ...

PowerslidePanda · 10/07/2020 21:39

Interesting! That would certainly explain some of the inconsistencies!
