They really are a joke. You would think by now a lot of their regular customers are going to go elsewhere and not put up with charging so much for a delivery.

I would love to know when they are actually going to go back to normal and offer people a choice of slots whenever they need them not only when Ocado say you can have one.

PerditaProvokesEnmity · 07/07/2020 20:33

WallsKOL I've had a similar issue with a relative with limited mobility who lives in a flat. Pre-Covid the Ocado drivers always took the lift up to their flat but since lockdown some have refused to do so. We contacted Customer Services - who first said drivers should carry things up, then retracted and said each driver would assess the situation for themselves. My relative has taken to telling them clearly, through the intercom, that unless the bags are brought to her door the drivers will have to take the stuff back to the warehouse ...

Perhaps, in your case, they might agree to carry things in if your father stays in a different room? I suggest you talk to Customer Services.

Your bigger problem might be arranging a delivery at all if you're not already a SmartPass holder ...

£100 a year is £8.23 a month. I have paid £7.99 a month for an anytime pass for years now.

@bruffin

£100 a year is £8.23 a month. I have paid £7.99 a month for an anytime pass for years now.
I was paying £3.99 a month for my midweek pass which I was very happy with as I only ever have deliveries during the week anyway- hence why the removal of it is quite a hike in price for me! I’ll be taking my business elsewhere as a result.
FredAstaireAteMyHamSandwich · 09/07/2020 10:45

I pay £8.99 for a monthly anytime pass. Yet I’m only allowed one delivery per seven days. So it’s not really ‘anytime’ . They are shooting themselves in the foot. I do shopping for others too and would welcome the chance to have a second delivery in the week. Instead I spend £150 with other delivery companies.

Our anytime pass is £2.99 a month and we get a delivery every 2 days now if we want it (but only use weekly).

Yellowbutterfly1 · 09/07/2020 11:45

What parts of the country do you both live?
It will be interesting to see if you both live In the same part yet have different restrictions on your delivery slots

DopamineHits · 09/07/2020 13:06

I pay £5.99 for my anytime pass. Why are there such differences in what we pay?

I can understand if it was a special offer for signing up, but for long time customers the price should be uniform!

DopamineHits · 09/07/2020 13:07

*Oh, and I can currently get a slot every 3 days

BentBastard · 09/07/2020 14:03

I suspect the more expensive passes are for the people that have stuck with them consistently for ages (no incentive to offer cheaper price) and the cheaper passes are the people that have chopped and changed a bit or used multiple trials before signing up (they're more of a flight risk).

XiCi · 09/07/2020 14:23

I was paying 2.99 for my midweek pass and this was increased to the 6.49 when the annual review came up (they review the smartpass prices every year). I was told it was a management decision to not allow any discount on the prices for passes any more when previously you could phone up and quite easily get a reduction. This is no longer possible. So anyone paying 2.99 now wont be for long when they review the smartpass at the end of their 12 month period

BentBastard · 09/07/2020 14:26

Hmm, think whoever spoke to you spun you a line about it being universal policy. I had an email a few days ago saying my smart pass is being renewed at my current discounted rate.

Problem is they know they have you over a barrel and you're unlikely to cancel while Covid is still around.

XiCi · 09/07/2020 14:32

I'll email them in that case then BentBastard because he told me in no uncertain terms that that was the case

BentBastard · 09/07/2020 14:33

I should say my pass is anytime not midweek so I guess they might say that policy is just for midweek passes.

XiCi · 09/07/2020 14:46

I've emailed them and will report back. The bloke I spoke to was an arrogant asshole so I've no problem believing he lied to me!

Megan2018 · 09/07/2020 16:53

@XiCi I’ve always let mine end, they always end up begging us back with a big discount within 2 weeks.
But I’m not bothered if they don’t when this ends as I don’t want M&S! I’ve never paid more than £2.99 for an anytime pass.

justtheonethen · 09/07/2020 19:20

@XiCi mine has also been renewed this week at £2.99

justtheonethen · 09/07/2020 19:21

Mine is an anytime pass

MayFayre · 09/07/2020 20:01

My anytime pass has just been renewed for £1.99 a month.

XiCi · 09/07/2020 20:04

£1.99 for anytime? Absolutely fuming now AngryGrin

Wolfcub · 09/07/2020 20:07

1.99 for anytime. That's amazing I pay 2.99 for mid week

Krook · 09/07/2020 20:11

Hang on, I've been a customer since Ocado first started and I haven't had a Toblerone!

And I pay £4.99 for a midweek pass. I have a friend who is paying £10 a month for her AnyTime one.

MayFayre · 09/07/2020 20:13

It’s the first time I’ve not had to cancel to get a good deal.

MayFayre · 09/07/2020 20:14

I haven’t had any toblerones, if that’s any consolation. I asked the delivery driver last time and he didn’t have a clue what I was talking about. Maybe it’s a regional thing?

XiCi · 09/07/2020 20:46

Well Ive had 4 toblerones so that makes me feel slightly better Smile
