4am this morning my "allowed" days moved to October 21st, which I'd been waiting for. All day available.

It's a minor quibble but, in contrast to most of you, apparently, I never used to book more than the next delivery. Now I'm pre-booking at least a couple, I find I'm putting things into a trolley for the wrong delivery - then wondering why item X isn't in any of this week's bags. Hmm

Wolfcub · 30/09/2020 11:08

Six subs today, not all of them equivalents and most of them more expensive

lexloofah · 30/09/2020 12:58

I finally have access to the app but noticed they have stopped stocking caramel wafers

My neighbours have a Waitrose delivery each week yet they are not showing any slots for me, not even click and collect

GaryUnicorn · 30/09/2020 14:18

I have one booked for 4th Oct. Despite having an anytime pass, everything else is greyed out. I want to book a slot for the next week, but if I leave it till Sunday, when my delivery is due, then if I can’t get anything, other stores may be sold out too. I can currently get slots for 12 October with Asda and Tesco.sod you Ocado. You have just lost another £200 worth of business.

PowerslidePanda · 30/09/2020 22:02

I also realised quite a while ago that I need to check for offers as things I added previously don’t get changed to an offer price if they’re already in my order pre offer being introduced.

I do this too. All the offers seem to change on the same date - I think the next one is 6/10.

The flip side of it is that anything you add before that date stays on offer once it's in your basket, even if the offer expires by the delivery date. So when there are deals on things I buy semi-regularly, I add it to all the orders I have booked and just remove it at last minute if I end up not wanting it that week.

LloydBC · 02/10/2020 09:35

Where have all the offers gone??! This is so frustrating.

lexloofah · 02/10/2020 13:21

I thought M&S food to order was going to be available from Ocado from 1st Oct including the Christmas stuff but I can,t see it, not sure what I would order anyway but am I missing something?

Houseplanted · 02/10/2020 13:56

@lexloofah it’s here www.ocado.com/browse/entertain-by-ocado-290995#intid=fto-ocado_01102020_CTA_1_Entertain

lexloofah · 02/10/2020 14:14

Ah I see thnx, was expecting a banner at the top to promote it

Onceuponatimethen · 02/10/2020 18:35

There is a run on xmas puddings on Ocado!

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 02/10/2020 19:28

[smug face on] That's of no concern to me. I made ours last week and it is now slumbering in the cupboard, waiting for Christmas Day.

OhYouBadBadKitten · 02/10/2020 22:40

I still have last years Xmas pudding!

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 02/10/2020 22:47

I often do too, but not this year. Plenty of mincemeat, though.

eeeyoresmiles · 03/10/2020 00:44
@eeeyoresmiles have you tried requesting they stock it? I’ve done this before with mixed success.
www.ocado.com/webshop/productRequestEdit.do
I have done this, but I'm still just really surprised they've just vanished. They don't seem like a thing that should - they're just a really ordinary brand I'd expect to get in any supermarket (and more to the point I want to buy French onion soup and now can't).

goldensummerhouse · 03/10/2020 01:48

Is anyone else pondering whether Ocado may be using the current health crisis for breathing space to try to get their post-Waitrose operation in order? Maybe I'm got my tinfoil hat on but I'm just wondering why none of the other supermarkets have reduced their services. And no barrage of explanatory emails this time either, in fact not even one...

And Duchy's Originals has gone back to Waitrose under a new name?! For some reason I thought they would be staying... I bought most of our fruit and veg from that line. Their organic lemons were really good Sad

GaryUnicorn · 03/10/2020 11:28

I totally think they are using Covid to excuse the many cock ups. I have done shopping for elderly neighbours this week from Asda, Iceland, and Tesco. No problem getting slots. No substitutions. I cancelled my Ocado slot out of frustration when half a dozen items were out of stock. Nothing out of the ordinary - Bovril, Heinz spaghetti, diet lemonade to name a few.

Ellmau · 03/10/2020 12:25

Duchy Originals are exclusive to Waitrose : en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Waitrose_Duchy_Organic

Hellononame · 03/10/2020 20:41

Has anyone had anything on booking their Xmas slots yet? I normally book mine early October. Asked on Facebook but just got a generic response

redpandaalert · 03/10/2020 21:40

I am going to move away from Ocado - fruit and veg not lasting, M&S meat not very good quality. Lots of food I like is no longer available plus there are some serious stock issues.

Madcats · 03/10/2020 21:55

It is so convenient and the drivers are lovely, but...

Admittedly I do let my fruit and veg live in the fridge until it looks as if it might be able to walk out unaided (and it is usually fine), but we've had to swap meals about to cope with the ridiculously short shelf lives, especially for meat (3-4 days). I really don't remember this with Waitrose.

How can you do a weekly shop unless you buy lots of frozen items?

Hellononame · 03/10/2020 22:18

I agree on the dates it’s very disappointing, my shop would last a week, not anymore. All oos of Pitta and wraps this week - my parents went to M&S and I asked them to get some for me but they were also oos. Maybe there are wider issues at M&S and a a result the Ocado brand is also OOS.

Madcats · 04/10/2020 10:29

I have never been to a big M&S food hall, ours is the size of one in a motorway service station, but I suspect that they tried to create 100's of new product lines to replace Waitrose and branded products......with varying degrees of success.

That would explain why products that have been available for years have been unceremoniously ditched or under-stocked.

It doesn't excuse the short shelf lives, though.

Today will be lemon drizzle and polenta cake day (and anything else I can think to do with a bag of lemons with a 4 day best before date)!

Ellmau · 04/10/2020 10:49

Make lemon curd!

I was wondering this, too. I don't know if any of the other supermarkets have done it yet either.
GaryUnicorn · 05/10/2020 09:08

I don’t think I could rely on Ocado for my Christmas shop. I’d be worrying that half of it would be out of stock on the day of delivery.
