Is this why there are no delivery slots? They are telling all the food to order customers on the M&S site to go to Ocado from 1st October...

Strange time to launch an entertain service - just when it’s never been less easy

The M&S party food idea must have been many months in the planning, and I suppose the opening was selected in order to have everything running smoothly before Christmas.

They must be horrified at the renewed lockdowns, but probably have contractual arrangements to honour. There couldn’t have been a worse time though!

My mum too (well rather my brother as he felt it was easier (for him but fuck knows why as he has done very little on food for Mum during lockdown) to set mum up on her own account, rather than her use mine with full access to my account. Her only problem has been not checking out. And I knew this because I didnt get the emails. How he is going to monitor this I dont know. She is also horrified about the delivery charges - who did she think was paying for them over the last 6 months (clue: me) ??!! I made it clear to my family in May that Mum was to be up and running by Sept with whatever food choices she wanted.( I work in a school so knew Sept onwards would be busy.) Nothing else was acceptable apart from Ocado. Why in late Sept am I being hassled. But apparently the Ocado customer services staff are lovely!

Delivery before last I got 65p for returning 99 bags, and today got 70p for 55 bags I think they're just picking random amounts! Anyway, we're into the bags I wasn't charged for by now so I'm not sure why they're giving me anything.

Last night I booked a slot for last week of Oct, it said no M&S dried pasta available at all. How do they know they won't have any by then?
Has everyone gone bonkers adding to trolleys or are they holding back for in the shops? It doesn't matter to me much, can choose an alternative, just curious

I've just been to finalise Wednesday's order (arranged about 10 days ago) and was offered Percy Pigs as one of my Flash Sale items!

(NB I've left the pasta and loo roll for others)

@lexloofah weird - just added some other non M&S dried pasta to an order for the same week!

All of the m&s pasta is available in my area.

I think the problem with m&s is that its not a place you do all your shopping at. I use it for occasional treats but never a full shop.
Ocado have got rid of a lot of branded goods , despite what they say they haven't replaced them with anything. There is a lot less choice now and they are losing out because I am buying less each week. Things that I gave bought everywhere for years are no longer available or a lot more expensive. They are not just out of stock they have disappeared from website

Yes @bruffin I’m finding the same. We are only staying due to covid uncertainty but will switch to another provider ultimately

I'm on the brink of jumping ship. No slots for the next two weeks, so I've set up a couple of Tesco shops. Slots available at the times I wanted, and 15% cheaper for a very acceptable alternative to my standard list. I was shocked to see that exactly the same pack of boring biscuits was twice the price on Ocado!

Got an Ocado delivery coming today. Everything there except, wait for it, paracetamol! I needed a new box having finished one recently, am surprised that out of all the brands and varieties of paracetamol available, there was nothing!

After a steady few months of booking slots 3 weeks ahead with no issues, I am no longer able to see any slots beyond my booked slot of 9 October - so frustrating! I thought that capacity had been increased...still waiting for anniversary gift & SmartPass has just gone up to £4.99. The odd free packet of Percy's doesn't really make up for all this...

I'm going to need to jump ship too. I can't see anything past the 8th Oct. I'd bought a smart pass on the misunderstanding that I'd have some surety of deliveries when covid ticked up again.

I can’t see any slots at all - random days seem to be greyed out and those that aren’t are fully booked.

However, I have Ocado reserved set up for fortnightly deliveries, and there are orders generated until 28th October. I just can’t book any additional deliveries.

@AChickenCalledDaal If you haven’t already got one, it’s worth considering a Tesco delivery pass.

£6.99 per month (and if you have club card points you can exchange them for vouchers worth 3x the value to pay for it) and you can book an extra week ahead - pass holders can book 4 weeks in advance, rather than the normal 3 weeks for non pass holders. It makes a big difference to the availability of slots here!

I usually book three weeks ahead and now there are no available slots showing. The whole calendar is greyed out. Very annoying as I’ve recently paid for a Smart Pass.

I’ve jumped ship to Tesco.

Very apologetic delivery driver today who explained as soon as he knocked on the door that he wouldn’t be able to take any bags today. The reason being he had to put them in a sealed bag and he’d run out of those less than half way through his customers today. I questioned why they wouldn’t have given him at least enough for one per delivery and he said that hardly anyone had given him returned bags last week. Mostly because most customers didn’t know they could. Clearly that was going to change as they’ve told people last week and it’s been highlighted more on emails. So having spent ages squishing as many bags as I could into a single bag I still didn’t get rid of any.

As to stock levels I am finding lots of things out of stock but if I go in and check again daily they do seem to come into stock at some point and I can add to my order. I also realised quite a while ago that I need to check for offers as things I added previously don’t get changed to an offer price if they’re already in my order pre offer being introduced.

On the plus side no substitutions and only one out of stock item not substituted (tin of green lentils).

Had anyone noticed odd things no longer being stocked? Baxters soups for instance - I can't believe they would just vanish from ocado but they seem to have done.

@eeeyoresmiles have you tried requesting they stock it? I’ve done this before with mixed success.

There are loads of items i buy regularly that are gone.

I've managed to get a slot for the 14th. Beginning to see an emerging pattern. I'm able to order a new delivery the day I have a delivery coming. Which is ok, except it isn't a day that I would preferentially ordinarily choose. It's a delivery though and that's a good thing.

Something flashed up on the screen - I think they are amending cutoffs for changes, but I clicked through too fast.

I have reserved slots booked for a month ahead. One booked automatically this morning.

I can’t book anything outside those reserved slots. Annoying as I sometimes do a top up shop and that’s exactly what I’m paying my anytime pass for. I might actually email a complaint and see if I can get it reduced a little.

I’ve logged in with another account I set up last year and have never used to shop. It can’t offer me a single slot.
