Very happy about that.

rararararara · 28/05/2020 17:16

Yay! Why from Monday though? How much difference would 3 days make?

ineedaholidaynow · 28/05/2020 17:16

BruceAndNosh · 28/05/2020 17:17

@rararararara indeed. DH and I will pop to DM over the weekend. Screw it, been law abiding for 10 weeks and she's on her own.

DishingOutDone · 28/05/2020 17:18

I'm confused, my neighbours have been doing this since March - and I'm talking about more than one street. What Boris is saying now is pretty much what our whole village has been doing since March. As long as they are outside or in the garden, they do as they like and friends and family come over. They don't do the 2 metres either; outside is safe as far as they are concerned.

I think a great many people have been doing this all along.

@ThroughThickAndThin01

Can walk through the house....!
Bollocks - I’ll have to mop my floor Grin
Thewheelsonthebus23 · 28/05/2020 17:18

Sorry to be a downer, but I’m so disappointed with this. We don’t even have garden and my parents live 4 hours away Sad
I’m happy for those who can meet with families in gardens though.

LiveRightNow · 28/05/2020 17:18

You can walk through the house to "get to a garden"

RaspberryMctriple · 28/05/2020 17:18

Unless you're sheilding. Then you just have to watch the rest of the world go back to normal and be forgotten about. Never mind.

DishingOutDone · 28/05/2020 17:19

Yay! Why from Monday though? How much difference would 3 days make?

No one will bother to wait till Monday.

starfishmummy · 28/05/2020 17:19

Son is shielding so we still can't Sad

Cornettoninja · 28/05/2020 17:19

@DishingOutDone maybe so but a lot of people haven’t. This is for them.

ineedaholidaynow · 28/05/2020 17:20

The biggest transmission of the virus is between families, that is why they have to limit mixing households.

People who have already been doing it have been breaking the rules.

OfUselessBooks · 28/05/2020 17:21

Our neighbours have been doing this for weeks. They even go into the house now and pass the new baby around everyone.our parents live 2 hours away and we couldn't trust our small children to stay away anyway, so doesnt affect us. I'm 2ondering if we're ever going to see them again. Sad

twinnywinny14 · 28/05/2020 17:21

@Thewheelsonthebus23 same as us, we still can’t see family as it’s too far to travel there and back in a day, and would definitely need to use the house at least the toilet!!

Bluebellpainting · 28/05/2020 17:22

It is good news but 6 is an awkward number. Lots of families still lot able to meet as the typical family is 4 in a household. At least in Scotland they can meet in groups of 8.

Merigoround · 28/05/2020 17:22

Nah - cue a rush of everyone who hasnt been out since March to run round to their friends. And good on them .
As PP said loads of people have been doing this since day 1 with no ill effects ( and yes I do know several households who have done this - loudly).

Lougle · 28/05/2020 17:22

We're a family of 5. Visiting DM & DF would make 7 Sad

StrawberryJam200 · 28/05/2020 17:22

@RaspberryMctriple he did say they'd shortly be making more announcements about those shielding (about more support I think). You're not forgotten about, it must be so very hard. Thanks
