janj2301 · 29/05/2020 18:18

I have an old outside toilet but no family or friends!!

Runnerduck34 · 29/05/2020 18:24

I'm a bit confused by this, at first I thought great I can have my mum and dsis over, as Iistening to Boris I thought it was 6 people could visit another household.
But now the news is reporting no more than 6 people in the group in total.
So we are a family of 6, can we visit family or vice versa or not ?!?

McCanne · 29/05/2020 18:30

I'm not convinced it's even quite so easy to catch it as is claimed.

You may have had it and known. Hopefully you haven’t, or if you have then hopefully you’ve not passed it on

McCanne · 29/05/2020 18:30

Not known even

Campervan69 · 29/05/2020 18:36

PissOffStayAtHomeDogMum I agree it's not as easy to catch as people think. I've done the same as you and have also been to my mums and sat in the garden every other day. FIL has been here and sat in our garden every other day. We have been on numerous day trips since allowed to do so. No-one has been ill at all.

Lincolnfield · 29/05/2020 18:37

My son and partner have five children so if we were to visit that would make nine of us in the garden! 🤨

JonSnowIsALoser · 29/05/2020 18:38

Damn, no more excuses not to see the in-laws. I miss strict lockdown already.

deedeegee · 29/05/2020 18:51

Not in Scotland though... even though would need a substantial garden to accommodate 6 additional people, socially distanced...! Discriminates against poor people, those living in flats , single people and couples....🤔

lilgreen · 29/05/2020 18:54

@JonSnowIsALoser I agree! Grin

linsey2581 · 29/05/2020 19:12

Here in Scotland we can have 8 people from today!

FelicisNox · 29/05/2020 19:16

I'm off to see my sister and drink gin in her garden...... yaaaassssss

Harls1969 · 29/05/2020 19:19

It means that I can spend some time with my daughter, first time since March Grin

browneyes77 · 29/05/2020 19:33

My mom and dad live around the corner and I’ve been doing their shopping for them, so I’ve been seeing them from a socially distanced level anyway throughout this whole debacle. So it won’t make a big difference in that respect.

To be honest, I haven’t seen my fella for 2.5 months. We haven’t met up with the whole social distancing because we don’t see the point as we can’t touch each other and it’s no different to us FaceTiming each other.

I’ll be happy on the day I can actually hug people I love.

avril2114 · 29/05/2020 19:52

You can use toilet at other people's house, they need to be thoroughly cleaned after though...bbc news app today...

At last! 6 people can meet in a garden!
skodadoda · 29/05/2020 20:37

You can use the toilet, Mr Whitty said so but you have to clean the surfaces and wash your hands.

helpIhateclothesshopping · 29/05/2020 21:12

How does it work for bigger families? What if there are more that 6 in your family already. It's nota problem for us personally but my brother has 8 living in his house already and I'm sure there are plenty of other families of more than 6 who'd love to see grandparents etc.

clarehhh · 29/05/2020 21:31

@planetcloud

"clarehhh" when was this?
At the briefing yesterday the medical officer clarified if you need to use toilet you can as long as it is all cleaned after taps etc
Peppafrig · 29/05/2020 22:23

Since the rule came into force today here . I can look out my window and see people are having more than the allowed number and are not sticking to 2m. It's frightening actually. I hope it doesn't set us backwards. I treat to think what It will be like Saturday night .

Carriecakes80 · 29/05/2020 23:16

I'm not risking my Mum yet, and making the past few months all for nothing.
Still way too many deaths these past few days...I can be patient, I like my life too much to bugger it up just because the Blonde Buffoon wants to take our monds off of Cummings and his lack of principles.

Jellycatspyjamas · 29/05/2020 23:31

Neighbours on both sides have folk over in their gardens tonight - loud music and shouted conversations at 23.30 doesn’t make for harmonious living, but of course they can’t go inside can they. And I sound and feel like a grumpy old cow bag but I’m operating on limited sleep as it is and my DS is still awake because he hears the music and wants to join the party.

Hairwizard · 29/05/2020 23:32

@JonSnowIsALoser yip i was liking lockdown for this exact reasonGrin not all the ILs though just SIL.

BatShite · 29/05/2020 23:55

I'm going to ask my friends round so I can get my toilet cleaned by someone else for a change.

What a bloody fantastic idea! Grin

IDSNeighbour · 30/05/2020 00:56

Ok, if family are near, mine aren't. Also not great for people who don't have a garden. Plus most gardens will now have people, noise etc, again not great for those that aren't able to meet up with people. But want to sit in their gardens. Yep I'm cheesed off if you hadn't guessed... sorry. I am pleased for those able to socialise, just having a bad 30 mins

I totally understand how you feel but you're ok - it doesn't have to be family! It can be anyone.

I don't have any local family either but I'm having 3 other single friends round on Sunday night for drinks in the garden (yes, I'm aware the rule doesn't start till Monday morning but we're all at work/school again from Monday and I don't think the virus will know that we're 12 hours early).

S0upertrooper · 30/05/2020 01:03

Why have they chosen the number 6? Maybe a member of the cabinet, or an advisor, has been photographed socialising with 5 other people and is about to be outed by the Sunday papers. 🤭
