Went to buy plants. Lady in the queue looking frail and with husband carrying her home oxygen tank. Life is for living Smile

I'm sure many would say she should stay at home but I applaud her.

I hope she has many happy visits to buy plants.

@Hunnybears what are you on about? You are allowed out?

VaTeLaverLesMains · 16/05/2020 18:20

My life isn't shit, it's great. When I'm well I'd whoop most of you at a 10k.

My white cells like to attack my lungs COVID style for no reason.

I'm shielding but don't want sympathy. Just to be seen at a valid human pm like the lady in the garden centre.

RyanBergarasTeeth · 16/05/2020 18:20

Wow people are scary cunts on here. I also applaud her. She might be terminal. She might have a dnr. We dont know her or her life. She hasnt done anything illegal at all. Shes helping the economy and environment by buying plants. Good for her. Now some people here need to look at their own cruel manipulative behaviour. Saying you would refuse to take a sick spouse out is coercive control if they are capable of making their own decisions. Also saying she would be taking up a valuable bed? Fuck right off even very sick or terminal people are fully entitled to medical help whenever they need it.

Whenwillthisbeover · 16/05/2020 18:21

I agree, she is no more likely to spread or catch than anyone else and if she caught it, it would likely finish her off. She clearly thought that risk was worth it to her.

I'm with you , we can't lockdown forever.
For all we know this may have been the first time they have left the house in weeks .

PicsInRed · 16/05/2020 18:23

That's a bit of a detour ...

Hunnybears · 16/05/2020 18:25

@bumblingbovine49

**Surely the opposite.is true. She is much more likely not to be given a ventilator than someone else who isn't on home oxygen. So really the taking the ventilator from someone else who.might need it is nonsense . The op is visiting a garden centre too,.so I can't see how either one of them is more or less likely to catch covid. Yest the lady on oxygen is likely to get more I'll if she does but she is probably much less likely to get a ventilator and be subject to the procedures that mean a nurse is more likely to catch it from her. In fact the op is just as likely to catch it and possibly pass it on if unaware she is ill.

Noone in the garden centre is doing Ng anything wrong, noone at all..**

I actually think she SHOULD be able to make her own decisions and if she wants to go there then that’s fine. She probably does know the score.

I’m in the camp of ‘the hysteria around covid is ridiculous’ and I think we shouldn’t be locked up, including the woman.

But whisky we have to follow the rules and take precautions I feel it’s only fair she does, given that it’s the likes of her we are trying to save.

For those saying the NHS has empty bed, yes on the back of the rest of us suffering financial loss and being forced to stay at home.

Inthemuckheap · 16/05/2020 18:25

Who are we to judge?

madcatladyforever · 16/05/2020 18:26

For fuck's sake. Never mind her, if she has coronavirus she will spread it everybody like the damned plague.
We have to wear full, and I mean full PPE if we go and see anyone on oxygen or with a CPAP machine or who is on a nebuliser when we go in.
It spreads particles far and wide so you are all being exposed to the highest danger.
She does know better because she would have been told you don't take your oxygen outside right now.
I'd have been furious if I'd seen her.

Khione · 16/05/2020 18:28

Good Luck to her

If she is on oxygen she is breathing in oxygen mixed with the local air which makes her even less likely to get anything airborne along with social distancing - unless any selfish able bodied person goes closer because 'duh' she's invisible in a wheelchair. Then her chances are pretty close to zero.

I would do the same

Sorryoo · 16/05/2020 18:30

@VaTeLaverLesMains I am on a shielding thread which has been lovely, but now I'm weighing up the benefit of MN against the risk (ha) and at the moment it's not worth it as I feel so fucking fed up now and just don't want to read any more posts like some on here.

And I'm not someone who thinks MN is a nest of vipers you're all so mean etc etc, I've been here for years and years and never felt like this about it before. And the worst thing is now I'm thinking if MNers are saying it some people in RL actually are thinking like this, which never occurred to me before now. So I think I'll have a break and concentrate on my sewing or something. But thanks for kind words from those of you who aren't cunts

Hunnybears · 16/05/2020 18:31

@sorryoo

**Can people really write stuff like this and not realise what a heartless cunt they make themselves sound like?

"The joke in this is that she’s out clearly using up resources whilst the rest of us are expected to lose out jobs, homes, livelihoods etc to prevent people like this catching it......"

People like this

Go fuck yourself**

Back at you you absolute clown 🤡

Aye, all the folk that are going to dye of cancer cos they can’t get an appointment, all the kids that will be abused cos they’re not in school, the woman suffering domestic violence, folk having no money to keep a roof over their heads....

Aye, see who sounds like the divvy now!

thedancingbear · 16/05/2020 18:31

It's a few pages ago now, but this:

She may have life limiting illness and is following the guideline saying you may not want to shield in that instance.

If she's on home oxygen, this seems quite likely. Unless you actually know her personal circumstances, you should keep your gossipy trap shut. It's not your fucking business.

madcatladyforever · 16/05/2020 18:32

It's not her I'm worried about it's everybody around her. If she has covid-19 her oxygen would have spread it to everybody in the garden centre.
If she wants to go and dance naked on a cliff edge that's entirely up to her but you DO NOT expose other people to that level of danger.
I have three patients with covid-19 on oxygen therapy and it takes me 20 minutes to put on all the necessary gear to see them so I don't get it. Them being on oxygen increases the risk to me exponentially.

amijustparanoidorjuststoned · 16/05/2020 18:33

So truthfully ladies, for those who are worried about her taking up a hospital bed... I have some suspicions that she might not make it that far given her condition. Sorry.

FourTeaFallOut · 16/05/2020 18:34

Ladies??? Are you new?

thedancingbear · 16/05/2020 18:35

So truthfully ladies, for those who are worried about her taking up a hospital bed... I have some suspicions that she might not make it that far given her condition. Sorry.

This is true unfortunately. The chances are, given her situation, she'd be left on a trolley to die.

thedancingbear · 16/05/2020 18:35

Ladies??? Are you new?

Grow up.

VaTeLaverLesMains · 16/05/2020 18:37

Home oxygen is only AGP if it is high flow. We just don't know.

VaTeLaverLesMains · 16/05/2020 18:38

You can only say ladies if you say gentlemen in the same sentence, as an archaic use; otherwise it is sexist and creepy.

Ladeeeeez.--

Fluffy40 · 16/05/2020 18:49

I hope the lady enjoys her new plants for as long as possible. That’s all.

Alsohuman · 16/05/2020 18:51

@Sorryoo, I wouldn’t judge you. I’d applaud you.

LEELULUMPKIN · 16/05/2020 18:53

@FourTeaFallOut

I agree.

twilightcanine · 16/05/2020 18:54

There is such a dire lack of logic or application of proper knowledge in the judgement of this woman that I can only assume some of you are practically rubbing yourselves at the chance to call someone selfish.

It's become a fucking addiction.

I neither applaud nor judge the woman in question - because whether or not she goes to a garden centre is none of my fucking business.
