DD is fine now, thanks all 😊

We grabbed a taxi home which in hindsight I could've asked him to go via the drive thru, but I just wanted to get her home sharpish.

We bought chocolate so we're currently stuffing our faces.

PrincessConsueIaBananaHammock · 13/06/2020 18:13

He really really is Willow , I'm the expensive one (considering he paid for the plane tickets for us to meet up 😬). I bullied him into picking something though, so now we've got food and cake coming. After being such a "I don't wanna" he picked two fancy burgers, sides and all kinds of things.

He's an odd one that doesn't really get excited about anything(or wants anything,or needs anything, you get the gist),including birthdays. The only reason he likes Christmas is because of DD.

My ex was like that unless it was to do with motorbiking😀
His ideal Xmas would start xmas eve and finish boxing day😄
But he made efforts for the kids and me.
But result on food and cake😉

I did enjoy the horse poo thank you Princess. I find shovelling horse poo on the allotment so much more satisfying than the poo I shovel in my working life. At least on my allotment it's useful!

GnomeDePlume · 15/06/2020 06:42

Dog let me have a lie-in this morning which was kind of him. The supermarket pickers have had their hours cut now that some of the permanents are starting to come back to work. Still hoping that DS will be offered a permanent job at some point.

Started a major clear out of clothes over the weekend. The next big DIY job will be to turn the spare bedroom into a walk in wardrobe. We havent got a spare bedroom yet but that is beside the point.

My assistant is due back today, hooray! I have a long list of jobs for him.

PrincessConsueIaBananaHammock · 15/06/2020 06:56

Morning Gnome how kind of the dog.Grin
Hope your working days get better and your assistant gets in the swing of things quickly.

Very exciting zoom board meeting today and tomorrow....not exciting.....i meant boring as fuck! Grin

Hope everyone has a better day than me!

PrincessConsueIaBananaHammock · 15/06/2020 07:45

We always check lottery tickets on a Sunday. It ding yesterday, but sadly it was just £2.80. So here we are awake since 6. But that's because OH is a snoozing twat, not because we're poor.Grin

Try to keep your excitement (not fall asleep) contained during the meetings Trev.

Afternoon everyone, the sun has blessed us northerners once more! I wonder what the city centre is like now the shops have reopened... I may have to check that out later in the week. DD1 and 2 have their birthdays within a week of each other and I've struggled to order anything decent online.

Just in case anyone needs a dose of cuteness, here's a photo of one of my Akita puppies, 6 weeks old and cute as a (very large fluffy) button, but noisy af at 5am 😂

Oh such an adorable little fluffball.

So DD's school have emailed that they are shutting for all children including keyworkers early on Fridays. I managed to pick her up early or have someone to pick her up so far, but it was good to know she could stay until 3 if anything came up. Not happy. It's bad enough I'm late every single day.

Damm I always miss 'the widom' givers! Ooooooh that is soooo cute Crow How many puppies do you have?

I have done a lot of that this pm Princess chief joy sucker has been very active today! And some of the posts are hilarious from other dementoring types.

Pigeon999s thread just went "poof" before I could reply to someone who thought nobody should go shopping as she wasn't risking her life by working for them to go shopping! WTF?
There is still the other one if you want a bit of sparring. Wink

Atm I'm just laughing at all the comments on primark queues pics and the eternal question of "WHAT could they so desperately need from Primark?" .Grin

Willow I have 5 of these not so little fluff balls. They're incredibly sweet but very loud. Two to three more weeks of puppy mayhem then they'll all be in shiny new homes and peace will reign again. Kinda 😂

I saw bottle's post. It was quite harmless, just looking for advice on choice of trainers. About the only time in my life that anyone has thought I might have something useful to add on a style question!

Mind, I am staggered at the price of trainers!

110APiccadilly · 16/06/2020 05:08

There's a thread over in Pregnancy where someone isn't risking their life working every day in health care, only to let labouring women recklessly give birth without wearing a mask.

(I have been wearing a mask as requested for scans, that's fine. I draw the line rather at wearing one for labour. Mind you, I'm hoping normality will be pretty much restored by the time I give birth.)

Trevsadick · 16/06/2020 06:43

I am going to ask my dad what he isn't going out to work for.

Why do people think if they work in health care, they have the right to dictate othervpeoples opinions or what they feel comfortable with.

And I bet a lot of these 'i work in health care for you to do xyz' haven't been anywhere near patients with covid.

My friend works in a care home for old people. They haven't had one case.

My dad works in a high security mental health unit. One of the other mental health units, had it spread round there. Because one of the bank staff, who also works in another care home brought it in. They turned up and admitted 6 hours into their shift they had a fever. But dad hasn't been near anyone with it.

Working in health care, doesn't mean you have been working to 'fight covid'. And eve if you have why do you think you can tell someone how to give birth?

PrincessConsueIaBananaHammock · 16/06/2020 07:05

How would it even work?

How are you supposed to do the deep breathing with it on? Or use gas and air? Communicate properly? In case of emergency that mask is going off anyways because of infection risk.

It's bonkers really.

It makes me laugh really, at how the tide has turned and people are outraged now at school staff being afraid. After months and months of dementors, scaremongering, treating kids like lepers , washing everything with bleach, cries of "we're all going to die" and "murderer!" Is it any wonder some people haven't suddenly just got over it just because they were told to?

OP posts:
GnomeDePlume · 16/06/2020 07:35

According to DD (the biochemist one) a normal face mask is useless after a few minutes anyway. If anything, worse than not having a mask. It soaks up all the little virus particles then one cough and nice big clumps of virus come shooting out.

Just thought I would share!

I think the dementers want other people to take risks. They have happily stayed indoors complaining about home deliveries not being 'safe'. No thought for the poor sods who had to make, pick, pack, deliver their goods. Just complaining if the delivery wasnt at a convenient time or the driver didnt retreat far enough.

If their DCs go to school will they insist on jet washing them with bleach when they get home?

PrincessConsueIaBananaHammock · 16/06/2020 07:43

There's no way in hell the true dementors are sending their kids anywhere. They might have -gasp- fun!

Exh sent me a long emotional email. He misses me. How can I just block him from my life? Pfft.

I wrote a massive response. I saved it in my drafts to look back on when I feel like I'm wavering. Because I have wavered in the past. There have been many grey areas to our post separation relationship. But I can't let myself fall back into that again. I can't. I have DD2s eyes on me and she's old enough to start learning relationship patterns now, ones that will carry on into teens and adulthood. I cannot and must not let her think this is what a relationship looks like.

And for myself. Forwards only from now on. He is many bad things. He's done much damage. It's been a journey. If one positive thing has come out of lockdown (not including a lovely garden), it's that it's given me space from him, and clarity. Much needed clarity.

So the response will stay in my drafts and he'll get none at all. And instead I'll pop on here and tell my fellow bananians (who've helped keep me sane during these trying times), what a strong independent crow I am 😊

And now it's time for wine!
