How much weight have you put on - be honest

I'm an emotional eater and with my routine blown I've been struggling to manage my weight since the lockdown.

I usually weigh myself at the gym and don't have scales at home, but can tell I've put on weight just by looking.

Worst case scenario is a stone. Best case ten pounds.

What about you?

A STONE!

But tbh that's since Christmas. I was taking it in hand and then this happened. My main pleasure seems to be cooking and eating and drinking at the moment. There is no distraction. Usually there'd be work, ec ferrying, gym for me, etc but apart from supervising schoolwork, walking the dog and tv or reading there is cooking and eating. I wish I enjoying exercising as much.

pigsDOfly · 05/05/2020 16:28

This morning when I weighed myself I'd put on 6lb.

Having said that, I didn't start eating badly until about half way through the lockdown so it's a pretty rapid gain.

I've decided, as of this morning that sugar - all my weight gain is from biscuits and cake - is out of my life.

I'm going to nip this in the bud now. It's so easy to put it on, not so easy to get it off again though.

Bagelsandbrie · 05/05/2020 16:29

About 8 lbs.

I’m now 13 stone - I’m 5ft 7. I know I need to lose some weight but have zero willpower in lockdown. I am walking and running a LOT though and I have chronic health issues which mean I take a lot of steroids and that doesn’t help me either. Neither does the coffee cake with butter icing I just baked BlushGrin Ah well fuck it.

pigsDOfly · 05/05/2020 16:31

Yeah, I've been baking cakes just to give myself something to do.

I live alone so when I bake anything I end up eating the whole lot.

I finished all my cakes and biscuits at the weekend and now that's it.

Although, I do have a small packet of shortbread that I didn't manage to eat but I've hidden it at the back of a cupboard.

Juanmorebeer · 05/05/2020 16:32

4lbs. But I already have almost 2 stone to lose so not great. I spent weeks 1 - 6 of lockdown boozing and baking.

It changed yesterday though and am sticking to super healthy dieting and no drinking. Only on day 2 so far and can feel a difference already.

That difference is mainly hunger, fair enough haha. But I am determined to sort this over the next month.

rc22 · 05/05/2020 16:34

I was hoping to lose some but that hasn't happened! I've managed to keep it steady though. I'm having a few extra treats but I think it's being balanced by not being able to eat out and by working from home (work place one of those where there always tends to be biscuits, chocolate or cake kicking around!)

DateandTime · 05/05/2020 16:35

Both DH and I have lost weight, especially him. Our home cooked diet is fine it's the staffroom biscuits and cakes, stations latte habit and regular meals out that appeared to have been doing the damage.

It helps that we are both wfh with a fairly "normal" routine. He's not a snacker anyway and I have been very conscious not to let it become a habit.

AgeLikeWine · 05/05/2020 16:36

2KG, and that’s despite walking 8-10 km every bloody day. I’m trying to convince myself that my bulging, defined leg muscles are responsible for the weight gain, but I’m sure it’s really my expanding belly Grin.

bengalcat · 05/05/2020 16:37

Nil - still working , walking the dog and thankfully my gym has online live and on demand workouts .

missmouse101 · 05/05/2020 16:39

I daren't weigh myself but my clothes have become tighter. I was very overweight to start with so it's just awful. Sad

SnuggyBuggy · 05/05/2020 16:39

A lot. Food is the one joy that hasn't been sucked out of my life. I'm hoping if the restrictions ease a little I can get out for some more exercise and distraction.

Seventytwoseventythree · 05/05/2020 16:39

Nearly a stone but I’m in the third trimester of pregnancy so I’m going to allow it Grin

monkeytennis97 · 05/05/2020 16:40

Lost 22lbs now... through fear and exercise

Noname99 · 05/05/2020 16:40

2.5kg
Too much wine
Must stop

Travelban · 05/05/2020 16:40

Just a pound or so.. I have been drinking and eating more but have been on a power walk for an hour every day. I am still working full time and kids to homeschool, so been keeping busy.

Pinkrose27 · 05/05/2020 16:40

I’ve lost 6lb. I have much less desire to eat at the moment!

Caramel78 · 05/05/2020 16:41

Gained about 4 pounds. So annoying as I worked really hard to lose 2 stone and I can see me regaining it all as I’ve lost all motivation now

Bunnybigears · 05/05/2020 16:42

I've lost weight through taking the kids on daily bike rides and not being able to afford more food than just covering a basic lunch and tea and breakfast, lunch and tea for the kids. Being furloughed socks.

Womenwotlunch · 05/05/2020 16:43

Put on weight at the beginning.
Started walking daily and doing some hardcore HILT, so weight is coming off

Imapotato · 05/05/2020 16:44

A couple of pounds, but I’m still working full time in an active job (even if we do keep getting donations of free food!)

It’s a good job I’m still or who knows how out of hand it would have got. When I’m bored I eat.

ShowOfHands · 05/05/2020 16:45

I've lost half a stone. From 8st 11 to 8st 4 but I've been exercising a lot and eating a vegan diet. Ideally, I need to lift more weights and build muscle instead. But running is keeping my head clear.

ESpressoNotEXpresso · 05/05/2020 16:46

Maybe a couple of Lbs, but I'm sure it would have been much more if I hadn't started doing daily work outs, which I wasn't doing before, so it's evened it out a bit.

Definitely more sugar and more alcohol.

Nameofchanges · 05/05/2020 16:47

I have lost half a stone. I can afford healthier food due to no commute.

GatoFofo · 05/05/2020 16:49

4lbs, on top of over half a stone I already needed to lose, so I now have a stone to shift.
Mostly due to baking and snacking and wine.

salcombebabe · 05/05/2020 16:50

I weighed myself for the first time yesterday since lockdown and I’d put on on 5.5lbs. 😱 I’m now back on WW strictly and doing an exercise class each day! My FitBit wonders what the hell has happened as I’ve gone from doing barely a thousand steps a day over the last few weeks to over 5k yesterday and today!! No more baking or sugary stuff for me! I have a stone and half to lose to get to goal!!!
