How much weight have you put on - be honest

I'm an emotional eater and with my routine blown I've been struggling to manage my weight since the lockdown.

I usually weigh myself at the gym and don't have scales at home, but can tell I've put on weight just by looking.

Worst case scenario is a stone. Best case ten pounds.

What about you?

I’ve lost around 6lbs. More time to cook healthier meals, more time sleeping so less time for snacking.

BlueBooby · 05/05/2020 17:36

I've put on half a stone so far, but I am trying to gain weight.

Bloomburger · 05/05/2020 17:37

Lost 10lbs. Still been running every other day and teaching classes and haven't bought shit or had the meals out and coffees with friends.

KellyMarieTunstall2 · 05/05/2020 17:40

1lb.I was 8st 7 before lockdown. I eat the food and DH puts on the weight.

bellsbuss · 05/05/2020 17:40

Lost 7lbs, not eating out now and no takeaways. Also exercising every day instead of 3 times a week.

Talia99 · 05/05/2020 17:40

5 lb. I have no willpower when it comes to chocolate so normally I have none in the house. I sometimes buy a bar with my lunch at work but if I’m in the house (normally) I can rarely be bothered to go out for one.

Now, I’ve been buying multipacks with the essential shopping and eating far more chocolate than usual.

Add in the toast with loads of butter and marmalade or jam I’m having for breakfast instead of vaguely healthy porridge or weetabix, plus the lack of exercise (half a mile each way to the station) due to working from home, plus using getting a snack as a reason to take a break from the computer and I can see how the weight has crept on.

CaptainBrickbeard · 05/05/2020 17:43

I’ve lost half a stone which has been painful going. I lost two stone already this year pre-lockdown and was motivated, energetic and feeling great. Now I am full of longing to comfort eat, I want to drink a lot more, I am a lot less active and I feel like I have been battling hunger the whole time which is depressing. I keep baking with the children and not being able to eat any of it. It’s like torture! But I know how easy it would be to pile on weight if I let myself. It’s definitely a miserable experience of dieting though and I wish I didn’t have to do it.

Janaih · 05/05/2020 17:46

About a stone. I was due to go on holiday first week of lockdown so ate and drank to excess to console myself, and seem to have carried on 😖

Everytimeref · 05/05/2020 17:46

Probably a stone hopefully less. Snacking all day. Eating more cake and moving less not a good combination. 🤣

Pickles89 · 05/05/2020 17:49

I've lost 3lbs. Been dieting since the start of lockdown - it's taking a really long time to shift! Unfortunately I'm still 3st overweight!

chocteapot321 · 05/05/2020 17:53

Gained 7lbs in the first few weeks, managed to lose 6 now in the past 3 weeks by dieting carefully and exercise. Actually need to lose another stone so will try and keep going. I’m WFH so in a routine and have more time to prep food rather than grabbing a sandwich etc for lunch so that’s helping. In the beginning was eating whatever I wanted plus drinking a lot but I’ve cut that out now and just have one treat day per week.

oralengineer · 05/05/2020 17:54

I’ve lost half a stone. I have been out of it on painkillers and muscle relaxants for 3 weeks with sciatica so have eaten very little. Put on some trousers this morning that are quite loose. Last time I had them on they were a neat fit.
I have been losing weight since Xmas due to BMI being too high so it has spurred me on. Just struggling to exercise at the moment.

happymummy12345 · 05/05/2020 17:55

None because I'm not eating more than I usually do. Also nothing has changed for me anyway as I'm always at home

BilboBercow · 05/05/2020 17:55

I'm the same as you op 10-14 lbs. I'm also an emotional eater and have no motivation to exercise other than walking.

SerenadeOfTheSchoolRun · 05/05/2020 18:00

Very close to a stone. I am now trying a new plan but not sure if I will regain motivation.

Mulhollandmagoo · 05/05/2020 18:04

I'm exactly the same as you, an emotional eater and have gained a stone worryingly though I've still not changed my eating habits and keep telling myself when things calm down I'll go full throttle with the weight loss, however given today's update I worry we'll be in lockdown longer than I thought 😭 so I'll need to get some motivation!!

Gammeldragz · 05/05/2020 18:04

About half a stone
My slimming world consultant is very understanding!

Fluffycloudland77 · 05/05/2020 18:06

None.

Mammyloveswine · 05/05/2020 18:07

I put on almost 2 stone since last November but had a really shitty time at the end of last year, beginning of this year and then lockdown!

I've rejoined slimming world and lost half a stone so far, I want another stone off by the end of the month ideally then half a stone in June and the final half to get back to my target by the end of July!

I've been walking 10,000 steps a day too!

Viviennemary · 05/05/2020 18:07

Around 7 pounds. I'd lost over a stone then put a few back on. And then lockdown. So nearly back to square one but not quite.

Falafellygood · 05/05/2020 18:08

I weighed myself two weeks ago and I'd gained 3lbs; weighed today and apparently lost that plus another 1lb. Who knows. My clothes do feel ever so slightly tighter though. I'm eating a few more biscuits but still running around after the kids.

DramaAlpaca · 05/05/2020 18:10

I daren't get on the scales but I know I've gained because my favourite jeans are too tight. I hadn't realised how much my very active job helps with weight control, that and I'm eating more at home and drinking more wine. I've not been exercising enough either. Going to have to sort myself out.

Thedogshow · 05/05/2020 18:11

Gained 4lbs at start of lockdown and have been much more careful, eaten smaller portions, massively reduced carbs and now back to where I started.
Would like to lose another 7lbs.

IdblowJonSnow · 05/05/2020 18:12

Happily my scales broke so no idea but hopefully not more than a lb or 2.

tobee · 05/05/2020 18:18

I lost 5 pounds in first few days due to worry but put back on 2 pounds. I'm doing 5:2 diet now. But I need to lose about 1 and half stone anyway.
