How much weight have you put on - be honest

I'm an emotional eater and with my routine blown I've been struggling to manage my weight since the lockdown.

I usually weigh myself at the gym and don't have scales at home, but can tell I've put on weight just by looking.

Worst case scenario is a stone. Best case ten pounds.

What about you?

I have weirdly lost half a stone , I didn’t believe the scales I ordered , so bought a second set to double check

Changeyname40 · 05/05/2020 23:09

I've lost half a stone.

No access to office cake, snacks on the commute.

Also the secret is don't eat lunch because you forget due to work.

Jokes aside, eating a larger breakfast, grazing during the day - a sort of protein based tapas - and healthy dinner.

Don't buy treats, it never occurred to me to buy extras like crisps, wine etc. I've had the odd thing like easter eggs, ice cream. It is not like the week inbetween christmas and new year because its lasting 12 weeks!

You don't realise but we are probably more sedentary so calorie need is less.

It's about the one thing that has gone well this lockdown.

Peachy92 · 05/05/2020 23:12

Too much. About a stone..

bumblingbovine49 · 05/05/2020 23:12

None. I weigh myself most days and have been pretty much the same since lockdown started (+ or - a couple of lbs)

soundsystem · 05/05/2020 23:27

9lb Blush

But I decided last week enough was enough so it's starting to come back off now.

Karmatime · 06/05/2020 06:07

Some, don’t know how much don’t have scales. I’m going for a daily run but any benefit is outdone by my new habit of grazing throughout the day. I keep thinking I must stop but then just think, oh well if I come out the other side of this a bit fatter, so be it.

TriangleBingoBongo · 06/05/2020 06:50

@soundsystem

Hope to get some of your mojo and start shifting my own lockdown love handles!

PurpleDaisies · 06/05/2020 06:51

None. A couple of pounds at the start, now I’m back to what I was before by introducing rules re snacking!

BadlyAgedMemes · 06/05/2020 07:04

I put on 2 kg, but down one of them now - in terms of weekly average. I'm definitely not eating as well and as healthily as I was pre-lockdown, but back to counting my calories at least.

ThrowbackMagic · 06/05/2020 07:06

6lb

TriangleBingoBongo · 06/05/2020 07:12

My biggest thing is exercise. I was running on average 25miles per week pre lockdown. So I didn’t need to worry about what I ate too much. Now with the stupid exercise rules I go out walking once or twice (yes sometimes I think f*ck it) and go twice with my toddler but not getting anywhere near the calorie burn.

Delatron · 06/05/2020 07:59

I thought the exercise rules were that there’s no limit to the amount of times yoi go out as long as it’s to exercise?

SpyApp · 06/05/2020 08:02

None. I noticed it creeping up a bit and got rid of the excess.

TriangleBingoBongo · 06/05/2020 08:16

@Delatron I think they are now but initially it was once

Drivingdownthe101 · 06/05/2020 08:27

My problem with exercise is that as I now have three young children with me constantly, I can only go at their pace. Which isn’t very fast!

Delatron · 06/05/2020 09:04

@TriangleBingoBongo ah that makes sense. I was sticking to the ‘once a day’ rule which meant when I took the dog/kids out I couldn’t go for a run On the same day. Then a couple of weeks ago on here everyone said it was fine to go out a few times as long as it was for exercise.

Made things a lot easier!

feelingverylazytoday · 06/05/2020 09:26

I lost a couple of pounds at the beginning of lockdown, because I was scared to go to the shops so I rationed my food. Since then I've stabilised. I 've given up alcohol and trying not to snack too much.
Walking about 8 miles a day, because it's part of my daughters care plan (she's autistic). I'm missing my 3 hours swimming/week though.

dudsville · 06/05/2020 09:33

This it's my 8th week at home. I'm not going to weigh myself, but my loose clothes are now fitted and i feel like I'm dragging an rasta stone around.

TriangleBingoBongo · 06/05/2020 09:44

@Delatron yes I’m going out when I can but now have no bastard childcare.

Elliebobtail · 06/05/2020 09:49

4lbs, I’ve been exercising more, but I’m also around snacks all day at home

Littlemiss74 · 06/05/2020 09:57

Following to read later. Far too much comfort eating going on here.
