Can't take anymore not knowing so I've paid £260 to bike out a test from a lab and wait while we stab ourselves and return our blood to the lab

Dh thinks I've gone a bit batshit but I couldn't take anymore

Just watched the video about how to do it I'm actually filling a tube with blood from my finger

I wouldn't be confident it was accurate and concerned that if it said I had had it, I would be less careful

No, London - worst area in London for CV, most deaths I think - possibly highest saturation of virus too

@SluggishSnail looking at this www.bbc.com/future/article/20200421-will-we-ever-be-immune-to-covid-19 which seems to suggest that T cell response (no antibodies) might explain the strangely low numbers of infections between family - ie the whole family have been infected and are immune, but only certain members have antibodies..? Very small study though.

It's not that way round Amelie - it can give a false negative but not a false positive - so if it tests positive I've definitely had it

Suggest you watch Chris Whitty's Covid 19 talk to understand the current situation about this sort of tests...

God I'd love to know if I've had it. I'm extremely vulnerable and in the shielded group but I had a lot of the symptoms bar a temperature in March. If I have had it and managed it without hospitalisation then I won't have to worry about being the weakest link in my house and the reason we can't even go for a walk.

How do you get a test? I’d want to get tested too (wouldn’t everyone!)

If it only gives false negatives and nit false positives I would be happy to pay for that. I am fairly sure we had it the week before lockdown.

How long does it take to find out ? I would pay for one tbh

Aren't I right in thinking there is no evidence to suggest even if you have had the virus you won't get re-infected?

You should've bought the vacuum - I've heard they're great.

But if this gives you peace of mind, then there's no harm - but have you considered that you might not have had it and therefore have no antibodies? Will you be ok with that outcome?

Because they think there's 3 strains at the moment and Uk is speculated the first round was the weaker one

It's also more likely that if you've had it the next time you get it will be a weaker effect

Except you haven't.

Because there is no guarantee you can't catch it twice or that one strain offers immunity to another.

Thus meaning you have a false sense of security which is dangerous to you and dangerous to others.

The website claims it's the Abbott test - that's all I know
