Posted twice. Sorry

Casino218 · 05/05/2020 12:09

@mumto3little yes all the way from day 10. I've spoken to my GP about it but anyway it's subsided now.

mumto3little · 05/05/2020 12:12

@Wheresthebeach same here but my chest pain has been improved. I still have pain on my chest and back but it is very mild. I also cannot sleep well. Every night i am struggling to fall asleep. Sometimes I am too anxious to sleep and other time chest tightness bothers me to sleep.

mumto3little · 05/05/2020 12:15

@Casino218 thank you. That's great that you have overcome chest tightness. I hope I can stand in your position on the next week.

Wheresthebeach · 05/05/2020 12:17

mumto3little Strangely comforting to know I’m not alone!

Crayfishforyou · 05/05/2020 12:18

I am in the red area of the hospital now. I've had bloods done. Awaiting a chest x ray and ecg.
My pulse decided to put on a spectacular show at just the right minute and I got ushered straight through.
I'm fully expecting 'all fine, post viral' but I've been taken seriously this time, thanks to pulse being a total dick.

Moodgie · 05/05/2020 12:19

Anyone having tummy issues still? I do every morning like clockwork, then fine.
Really fatigued today, neck glands a bit sore. Back ache and tightish chest yesterday, ok so far today.
@longshot @fedupofbed @WorriesomeDad @TheDrsWife46 @mumlurker @Meercatmama @Needsomegoodnews @Tangledyarn @godhelpusall - what are your symptoms at the moment if any?

Lightsabre · 05/05/2020 12:24

@Dimsummummy, well said. The worst part of this has been the medical abandonment unless we take our chances in A and E.

Day 39 here, tight and slightly raw chest, upper back lung pain and shortness of breath on activity and high heart rate still. So worried this is going to turn into a permanent respiratory condition.

mumlurker · 05/05/2020 12:24

Hi @Moogie

I had the same issue as you for about ten days then it just stopped. My main issues at the moment are inflamed chest, acid reflux which seems to be causing horrible throat construction, leg pains, our of this world fatigue and a general feeling of breathlessness (stats ok though). Day 52 here and feel like it will never end - after one good week I've now been back in bed for nearly a week.

mumlurker · 05/05/2020 12:25

My GP has prescribed antibiotics and omeprazol, and has encouraged me to do breathing exercises...the matra seems to be, there's nothing you can do apart from rest rest rest.

Meercatmama · 05/05/2020 12:29

Good morning
I woke up and felt a bit sluggish and tired but as I have got going starting to feel ok. Managed to do some work on the laptop, have a bath and been for a 15min walk ( slow) . I rest in between and although I am a bit breathless, small amount of backache at the top and have a strange feeling in my throat ( like the start of a cold not sore but there) and the intermittent cough if I overdo things. But so far ok this morning. In fact starting to feel a bit more like myself after the dip over the weekend when I went back to bed. This feeling better started Sunday afternoon . I am hoping that the dip on Friday and Saturday was the last one but will have to wait and see. I am still resting trying not to do too much just in case and sleeping when I feel tired. I am also taking vit d and c to help.

Schuyler · 05/05/2020 12:31

@Egghead68
I’m glad you’re all alive. Grin

I think they actually discovered asthma, even severe asthma, was not as big a risk factor as they thought. Ditto certain immune suppressing medications. It’s the same with other risk factors. It’s not easy with a brand new virus, many unknowns.

wontletmelogin · 05/05/2020 12:36

Still coughing today - day 3. No fever but I had about a 20 minute episode of shooting shoulder blade pain on the one side. My manager said she will mark me down as ‘covid sick’. I was due a routine swab tomorrow so waiting to see if I need to go for that which I should do really? Although my workplace is a ‘covid free’ zone

wontletmelogin · 05/05/2020 12:37

It’s interesting you mention leg pain. I had restless legs Sunday night which I haven’t had for years. Put it down to doing too much spin and being overtired. Also was a bit (TMI) loose last night. I’m still thinking I don’t have covid as no fever and can still smell and taste but maybe I do??

Lightsabre · 05/05/2020 12:43

@mumlurker, can I ask you what antibiotics you're on please?

I was given a blue inhaler, took two puffs for the first time and now I'm shaking like a leaf - can barely type. Any experience anyone?

Lightsabre · 05/05/2020 12:47

@mumlurker, also what breathing exercises too please?

Tangledyarn · 05/05/2020 12:54

@Lightsabre Yeah they can make you very shaky. I hate using mine. It usually goes off after an hour or so.

Feel very tearful today, waiting for gp to call me re my chest/asthma, as my breathing is bad still despite all the bloody inhalers. I think its day 60 today.

Dorual · 05/05/2020 12:58

Lightsabre that can happen with ventolin. It makes my heart race too. Hate itm

Lightsabre · 05/05/2020 12:58

Thanks @Tangledyarn. I do really feel for you as you've been suffering a long time. I'm sure you've thought of this but can you ask the GP if any respiratory services are open or for a scan? Can you afford to go privately - I think a private scan is around £750 and it would be a quick result.

Lightsabre · 05/05/2020 12:59

@Dorual, thanks - it is Ventolin. It's starting to wear off now but didn't help the high heart rate. Hope it works in soothing the air passages.

Gunner30 · 05/05/2020 13:00

Hi all.

Day 51 for me and mostly feel ok. My constricted throat has come back which is annoying, as I thought the ppi medication was working. I've tried cutting out acidic and spicy foods a week or so ago, but no real improvement. Going to speak to the GP tomorrow as he suggested that I should get it properly checked out by a specialist, if it doesn't improve.

Other than that, I'm lucky that I'm now managing to walk 1 hr a day and still managing to WFH, which is positive. After getting through all the other symptoms over 5 weeks I really hoped that this throat would clear, but like everything with this virus it just seems to take rest and time...
@Lightsabre I'm ashmatic and the blue inhaler can cause slight palpitations, so if you are just starting, just try one puff. I found when I was have my chest pains and palpitations in week 3-5 that the blue inhaler made it worse, so reduced to one puff and that worked.

@crayfishforyou hope the a&e visit goes ok. Whilst an all clear can be frustrating, at least you know there isn't anything causing the symptoms and I found it quite reassuring is wasn't another illness.

Hope you all have a good day and I'll drop in again tomorrow. X

onlinelinda · 05/05/2020 13:05

@egghead68 and @shuyler I have both COPD and asthma and I'm completely well now. Never needed hospital treatment, but it did drag on a bit.

Lightsabre · 05/05/2020 13:07

Thanks @Gunner30, I thought I'd try two as I feel strong enough for a short walk today but I know the tightness and breathlessness will scupper me. Glad to hear you can walk for an hour now and that you feel okay.

For those with gastric issues, apart from Gaviscon and Omeprazole, I am finding Kefir helpful. I've tried the smoothies (delicious), yoghurt (coconut, quite nice) and plain kefir yoghurt (sharper but adding tinned prunes to sweeten a bit). Also will be good for those on antibiotics I would think.

Mintypylonsfryingsurplus · 05/05/2020 13:18

I would like to be included in research please?
I attended A&E on Friday *I posted here about it)
Then a couple of days later read about the hypoxia strangness reported in media.
All clear apart from drop to 91 after walking about for a minute.
Please dont be put off going to A& E if need be. It was very very quiet when I was there 4 people in whole waiting room including me, and as it was so quiet they were able to do several tests throroughly. All clear thankfully apart from Hypoxia which is something that they are now learning about when people like us present.
I know its a difficult choice ( my doc refused to see me so if I wanted to get checked over that was the inly option) but I had to wear a mask the whole time as did medical staff. Although interestingly the doc removed theirs on the discharge chat about I probably had it.
More people in supermarket to be fair than hospital, hope you all feeling better soon Flowers

Schuyler · 05/05/2020 13:23

@onlinelinda

Pleased to hear that. I have asthma and a rare type of ILD.
