I’m sorry if this is in the wrong place, I can’t think of the right section to put it. I can’t shake the feeling that something deeper is going on here. I’m not sure if it’s my anxiety talking and the fact I have a lot more time to sit and think about it but I can’t get it out of my head. I am thinking something devastating to the planet, asteroid collision or something, with corona as a cover up to avoid mass hysteria in our final days. Why are they still launching Starlink when the rest of the world has completely shut down? Where is all this money coming from that the government is throwing around seemingly without a care to how we will pay it back. Why are they so unbothered by so many members of society who stand to lose everything if we stay shut down for much longer (pubs, leisure industry, travel/holidays, weddings etc). Why do we keep hearing about empty hospitals, bored staff and the empty Nightingale hospitals? Why are we stopping ALL planned surgery’s seemingly disregarding the health of everybody apart from corona sufferers. No plans for if/how/when our children will go back to school. I just can’t get my head around it.

It is strangely comforting to believe that a secret group - even of ruthless billionaires - is actually running the world and planning everything

Why are these super competent super elites always evil?

They are not necessarily super competent. They are people born into super wealth. People who's families have been rich and powerful for generations.

I would assume they are evil because they have been raised to be, are devil worshipers, or care only about retaining power and wealth and do whatever it takes to achieve that.

Actually @TorkTorkBam there is a proven correlation between those who are powerful and having marked sociopathic traits. The higher up the ladder you go, the worse it gets. That doesn't mean that every powrful person is a sociopath of course, it just increases the likelihood.

Why would keeping people in lock down distract or prevent an asteroid collision.

They are bothered about people losing everything but not much alternative as it's that or mega numbers lose lives

Stopping surgery because the hospitals are filling up with covid patients so there's no where for the surgeries, sickness levels are higher than ever seen, and it's an uncesscary great risk to cut some one open when they're exposed to a deadly virus.

@BigChocFrenzy there is a great documentary just released called Out of the Shadows that explains how Hollywood has been used by the CIA to condition people to watch scenarios in films and believe that they can only be fictional and then to ridicule anyone who suggests they go on in reality. An example is monarch programming in Zoolander.

Surely if the government wanted to avoid hysteria about a possible asteroid strike they'd just keep quiet about it? How could it possibly help to give us something else to worry about?

Being a sociopath is not the same as having evil intent.

A sociopath will get the job done irrespective of how other people feel, if it hurts your feelings to be laid off they don't give a toss, they'll lay you off if it saves the jobs of two other people. That's how come they are overrepresented at the top of successful organisations. It does not mean the organisation's goals are evil. They are still more likely to decide to cure cancer than to give everyone cancer.

Even if the top person is a sociopath they typically need thousands of people working for them to get anything major done. How the hell would they keep their real devil worshipping ways a secret. Why would they believe in anything so daft as devils? And why would they want to worship these devils even if they did believe in such mad woo yet have enough sense to run a major organisation?

Does anyone remember a fictional drama on bbc 1 called ' hard sun' ? The sun is burning out and the government try to cover it up.
Of course they can't keep a lid on it but it was interesting to see how they tried.

As mentioned upthread we haven't had a serious Global pandemic in a hundred years - but they have happened. We've had a few warnings in the shape of SARs and MERs in recent years which it seems was largely ignored outside of Asia.

Given that I'm not sure why some people need to weave complex theories involving the likes of Gates, Musk the CIA and some mysterious global elite when it comes to Coronavirus, other then they are really uncomfortable with the idea that nature is capable of doing some seriously nasty things without any help from us.

I don't think this Global elite are evil, devil worshipping, or Jews. Government borrows from central banks like the Fed. The central banks have independence, there is no political oversight and the central banks are controlled my families who have underwritten those banks, namely Rothschild, Melon, Rockefeller. The central banks have at times throughout history been more accountable to governments.

The government will be permitted to borrow pretty much all it likes. And no, we won't necessarily be in debt to china.

China is an interesting case because they control their own debt and money supply. So whilst the Chinese have some debt it's all in their own currency, and since they have complete control of their currency and money supply, are in a much better position.

I’ve found myself wondering if certain aspects of the govt responses haven’t been lacklustre because it wouldn’t be so bad for social care and housing crises if there weren’t so many vulnerable and elderly around.

I do think there probably are factions of many governments- including own own- who are saying basically what Scrooge says in A Christmas Carol... less poor and infirm people cost us less money so yeah, we should let them die. Natural selection innit. I so think though that’s not the majority of even our worst and most corrupt governments and it is just an aside of a naturally- occurring pandemic because there will always be bastards. For the most part this crisis has brought out the best in people. I don’t think it’s a conspiracy.

I do believe that the deaths being primarily amongst the elderly, fat and ill means that the government and the public will be shrugging their shoulders and sending the fit and healthy back to work much sooner than if it hit, say, healthy twenty four year olds.

We’re more likely to be struck by one that is too small to spot in time but big enough to do some serious damage depending on where it hits.
