Is there something else going on

I’m sorry if this is in the wrong place, I can’t think of the right section to put it. I can’t shake the feeling that something deeper is going on here. I’m not sure if it’s my anxiety talking and the fact I have a lot more time to sit and think about it but I can’t get it out of my head. I am thinking something devastating to the planet, asteroid collision or something, with corona as a cover up to avoid mass hysteria in our final days. Why are they still launching Starlink when the rest of the world has completely shut down? Where is all this money coming from that the government is throwing around seemingly without a care to how we will pay it back. Why are they so unbothered by so many members of society who stand to lose everything if we stay shut down for much longer (pubs, leisure industry, travel/holidays, weddings etc). Why do we keep hearing about empty hospitals, bored staff and the empty Nightingale hospitals? Why are we stopping ALL planned surgery’s seemingly disregarding the health of everybody apart from corona sufferers. No plans for if/how/when our children will go back to school. I just can’t get my head around it.

people generally act according to (what they perceive to be) their own self-interest

RuffleCrow · 27/04/2020 13:31

Depends who you're talking about. Most decent people are also motivated by utilitarian principles, but these often conflict with self-interest. However, those who lack empathy have no such conflict to wrestle with!

RuffleCrow · 27/04/2020 13:33

And my experience of those with narcissistic or sociopathic traits is that most are quite capable of working constructively with others if there's a net personal benefit they can see at the end of it.

ElonsMusk · 27/04/2020 16:31

The medical tyranny/Fauci et al theory is starting to seem plausible.

Yep-Fauci is dodgy as fuck. Have you seen all the weird hand signals he does in the press conferences? The hand in the jacket thing The Hidden Hand it’s called.

Those on the worlds stage all have their own agenda.

As for Bill Gates, anyone who visited Epstein’s island on multiple occasions is of suspicion to me as a shady character.

Gooigi · 27/04/2020 19:41

A hidden secret signal in front of millions of people. Or he was just comfortable like that. No, it must be the first one.

saraclara · 27/04/2020 21:02

Totally disagree. Complete conditioning to think that you need people with qualifications to know how to be healthy.

So, @JAME0, if you were critically ill, would you seek help from a qualified doctor, or from someone in a YouTube video who'd never been to med school?

notimagain · 27/04/2020 22:09

When I read threads like this I'm minded of a Mark Twain comment that I'd best not repeat in full for fear of being banned...

JAME0 · 27/04/2020 22:12

Not the same thing at all.

I did suffer with hyperemesis in multiple pregnancies to the point I’d die without drugs but then in my final pregnancy I took matters into my own hands and avoided hyperemesis completely. Lots of advice of Facebook to achieve that 😉

Except random youtubers

JudyCoolibar · 27/04/2020 23:54

Complete conditioning to think that you need people with qualifications to know how to be healthy.

Of course these people could never be biased or corrupt

So would we know how to be healthy without anyone with qualifications? Or would we still have smallpox, polio, rampant TB, to say nothing of millions of deaths from numerous untreated illnesses and injuries?

Of course some people with qualifications can be biased or corrupt, just as people without them can be. That doesn't mean we have to assume that all of them are.

ChangeMeAlready · 28/04/2020 00:50

Who are these 'They' everybody is talking about?

JAME0 · 28/04/2020 06:37

By using the information that has been passed down for millennia..

All those diseases fell significantly when living conditions improved, largely through sanitation.

I think the medical world is great at treating severe injuries.

CaliforniaMountainSnake · 28/04/2020 07:26

I think people are trying to get at the fact that it's our lifestyle that largely makes us ill. A large proportion of Illnesses can be traced back to lifestyle. When they look at the skulls of English people pre sugar their teeth are perfect - without brushing and toothpaste. People living on the Pacific Islands were fit and muscular and healthy, we then introduced our shit food and now they all have diabetes, heart disease and cancers.

Just read up on Dr Fauci. Clearly a very corrupt man. What's all that stuff with him suppressing a doctors research about 67% of women with chronic fatigue having a mouse virus, and it also being linked to autism and cancers.

CaliforniaMountainSnake · 28/04/2020 07:30

I think the medical world is great at treating severe injuries.

I do think the medical world has lost its way. Medication should be a last resort, not the 1st thing they do. We need to look at the route of symptoms not just mask them. We need to accept death as a natural part of life, not keep prolonging the lives of those that have no quality of life. And we need to look at alternatives pain management. You can't just keep cramming people full of opiates.

RuffleCrow · 28/04/2020 07:42

A few years ago a house near mine was giving away old books. I picked up a few - one of which was written in the 1970s about the origin and structure of the big pharmaceutical industry and their vested interest in people being ill and their 'cures' being the only cures available. It was the kind of book you'd probably be sued for publishing today but it was interesting to me, precisely because it was written so long ago. Lots of nazi-run businesses merged with american ones after WW2 to create the multi-nationals we know today, apparently. Of course the Rockefellers etc were right at the heart of it with their 'philanthropic foundations'.

RuffleCrow · 28/04/2020 08:24

And it's not just pharmaceuticals - the chemical manufacturing industry is a key part of it - for example Bayer joined IG Farber in 1925, and then created the Zyklon B - the gas for the gas chambers, then when the allies broke up IG Farber after the war it went back to being Bayer - who now own Monsanto and manufacture highly carcignogenic pesticides. A 21st Century update would be that Bill Gates is one of their investors. When you scrape the surface it's an almighty shitshow that's almost impossible to properly untangle or get your head around.

JAME0 · 28/04/2020 08:30

Exactly my thoughts.

The work of Weston A Price is INCREDIBLE. He observed the natural civilisations throughout the world and noted their impeccable health and recorded their diets. He could see the direct correlation between their diet and specifically their dental health after they experienced famines and especially after the western diet reached these civilisations.

My neighbours are archaeologists and love to show us footprints of people who lived around 7500 years ago. The adult ones are huge and she said they were found really far apart indicating they were incredibly tall back then, which reflects how nourished they were.

CaliforniaMountainSnake · 28/04/2020 08:32

Lots of nazi-run businesses merged with american ones after WW2

I think alot of the USAs issues can be traced back to operation paperclip. I think those Nazi ideologies infected them. Leading to all the warmongering, the corruption, the abusive of their population and their systematic racisum.

In regards to the pharmaceuticals, apparently the same people own and run the medical schools and pharma companies. So the Dr's are litrially trained to medicate everything and the cut it out or kill it method.

CaliforniaMountainSnake · 28/04/2020 08:34

The adult ones are huge and she said they were found really far apart indicating they were incredibly tall back then, which reflects how nourished they were.

I heard that was also connected to how good the air was. No pollution and lost of plants to create lots of oxygen.

Once we started living indoors people got really small though. Old door frames were tiny.

First of all I'm OLD. Or at least old by what you've been told... and we've been told a LOT. I was born skeptical... especially about the imbalance we have in the United States... you know, the oppressors who shoot us in our backs just MAY not be our friends....? That the ally we have -- the one that once had a terrorist organization that blew up the King David Hotel in 1949 just MAY not be our actual friend, but enjoys us ALWAYS fighting its many enemies for it? Get to know our past before you make claims on our present and our future. Put it into context before you make ignorant claims about "conspiracy theorists", for conspiracies, collusion, and corruption are the American way.

You see, I am a Historian of American History. I have seen fifty years past, Presidents elected from both parties, but the right-wing, corporatist agenda ALWAYS keeps moving forward. Johnson, Carter, Clinton, Obama -- they made PLENTY of CONSERVATIVE, INHUMANE decisions. I started to ask why. No its not a conspiracy. But its also not a Democracy.

I studied under three very different professors... but all taught the same thing: manipulation by the use of propaganda - how to spot it and how to do it. Howard Zinn, a famous, courageous, truthtelling alt-historian was my history professor. He fought in the Second World War. Not a coward, not a liar. Roger Manville was a film critic, but created and assessed propaganda for British Intelligence during that same war. Again, not a coward, not a liar. And Walter Lubars was a Madison Avenue advertiser. Had no reason to lie when he telling us about deception and manipulation.

The wealthy and their selected politicians... now THEY have reasons to lie.

I have a GREAT sense of the foreboding as well... the same feeling I had when I first learned about 9/11. I also sense great deception. Its a horrible way to understand terrible things about the place that even I still want to believe in... but knowing the truth is always power. Lying to YOURSELF by believing everything is okay and others are conspiracy theorists - THAT is part of the great illness that is the United States. You were TAUGHT that, you fools.

In the meantime, have some courage READ transcripts from Iran/Contra or the Church Committee hearings... READ the Congressional Record on those issues. Be AT LEAST as informed as the average American in 1970 (because you are way, WAY not as informed). Read a recent book on the BLATANT, huge deception made to the American people by the Johnson administration that cost more than forty American lives during the Six Day War in 1967 to leave Americans to die so that Ally of ours could save its lying face. WRITTEN BY A WOMAN a Temple University professor with courage. Just do SOMETHING... and TRUST your INSTINCTS.

Mrhodgeymaheg · 03/06/2020 13:59

What is with the capitalisation of CERTAIN words? You really are trying to convince me aren't you?

You forgot the overuse of exclamation marks....
