I have been slowly feeling better this week. Had to go back to work Monday (part time) and my chest is feeling slightly achey again 😩. Still feel OK but stressing abit.

TheWooisStrong · 22/04/2020 19:19

@SchrodingersKitty Thinking of you, I hope things improve or at least get under control.

I’m 99% recovered, had quite a productive day today in terms of baking/housework. Then nipped our for a quick walk to the supermarket to pick up a few bits and now I’m lying on the sofa feeling rough again. Slight sore throat, slight cough, and s.o.b. on exerting myself.

DH has his father’s funeral tomorrow. We can’t go as it’s immediate family only thanks to this stupid stupid virus.

Egghead68 · 22/04/2020 20:16

Flowers for your DH and family @TheWooisStrong. I am glad you are feeling better though.

I’ve had quite a good day but am a bit breathless now sobrdkungbit east.

Egghead68 · 22/04/2020 20:16

Supposed to say so taking it easy.

musicposy · 22/04/2020 20:28

Hi, just checking in with people as I haven’t yet on this thread.
Now day 44. Definitely improving but I do feel as though I’m in a post viral stage at the moment. I have good days and bad days. On a good day I can potter about, put a bit of washing on, make dinner, all with resting in between. Today I’ve been exhausted again and sat in bed all day. I do wonder sometimes when life will be normal but if I look back two weeks I’ve definitely made progress.

Having said all that, the cough is gradually subsiding as is the chest pain. I’m sleeping better, though I still have vivid nightmares. My appetite isn’t good but I’m not forcing stuff down like I was.

I’ll read back and catch up with all the people I was chatting to on the lungs thread!

musicposy · 22/04/2020 20:35

fedupofbed I could have written your post! I’m just a few days behind but so much resonates.
This - Progress is incremental but I find it helpful at this stage to review my progress on a weekly/long term rather than daily basis was really helpful. I’m guilty of looking back a day or two and I can’t see any difference; maybe only a little in a week. Two weeks, definitely.

The spiky temperature thing is interesting. I still get the odd night where I go to 37.4 or a bit above and feel hot, then cold, then shivery, then hot again. I’m normally rarely above 36.5 so there’s definitely still something going on. But it’s happening more rarely and it’s comforting to know it isn’t just me.

Moodgie · 22/04/2020 20:50

@musicposy @fedupofbed @kitcat122 So pleased to hear you are making progress. I feel stuck at the moment, fatigue up and down, phlegmy feeling up and down, tight chest up and down.

fedupofbed · 22/04/2020 21:18

@musicposy I'm glad you're improving too, though yes it feels so slow as to be unnoticeable sometimes. And there seem to be a few others at this stage too. It's a real exercise of patience - I'm so used to bouncing back quickly from the odd cold.

@alittleprivacy sorry you're having such a rough time, yes the hormones must add more ammunition to the whole war zone our bodies are at the moment.

Sorry to hear your news @TheWooisStrong . That's so hard. Sending best wishes to you, your DH and family.

fedupofbed · 22/04/2020 21:22

@Moodgie hope you improve soon - it's so up and down.

Moodgie · 22/04/2020 21:29

@fedupofbed Thank you, I am hoping it is like you are saying, you notice the difference on a weekly basis, but even so it seems such little difference in the last 2-3 weeks.

Some breathing exercise leaflets for those who still have mucus / lung pain / stiffness

GrapefruitsAreNotTheOnlyFruit · 22/04/2020 21:37

Oh and my GP called me back to see if I was ok now (how lovely is that). I explained the fever had gone but I still had some issues with lung stiffness and rib pain especially after exercise. She said I should call back for a chest x-ray if it didn't improve in a couple of weeks.

Tangledyarn · 22/04/2020 21:51

Am also measuring things in weeks rather than days now, it's much easier to cope with bad days, I'm so much better than I was only a week ago overall and it's much more helpful to remember that than focus on specific days now for me.

musicposy · 22/04/2020 22:40

@TheWooIsStrong I was sorry to read that. Flowers for your DH and all your family and sending strength for tomorrow. That must be so hard.

@SchrondingersKitty, I’ve been thinking about you and I’m sorry that’s such a heartbreaking update on your DH. I hope the steroids at least give him some temporary respite. It’s good if they check for other possibilities. Keep us posted.Flowers

@tangledyarn, you were much where I was at one point so good to read of your update too. I will remind myself to keep measuring in weeks. I keep meaning to write a small account of the day so I can actually see my progress, though these threads are not a bad historical account!

@Moodgie do hope you pick up soon. This stuck bit is not easy to handle.

@fedupofbed I’m impatient too and used to being back to normal now! This is a mental test as much as a physical one.

Good to catch up on the thread and read about all those I haven’t mentioned. Hope everyone gets some sleep.

OneDayAtATime123 · 22/04/2020 23:14

NAC Review
Since it is not tested yet for Covid, other similar research was looked at. I personally use it/

Moodgie · 22/04/2020 23:17

@OneDayAtATime123 Have you got a recommended brand? I looked at Amazon but wasn’t sure about them.

OneDayAtATime123 · 23/04/2020 00:55

@Moodgie
NOW / Solgar / Jarrows (sustained release) are all recognized brands. I use sustained release (1200 mg/day).

btw. I live in the US (Miami, FL) :-)

OneDayAtATime123 · 23/04/2020 00:58

Have not looked at Amazon UK, if the same brands are available there

pinkoneblueone · 23/04/2020 04:00

@SchrodingersKitty I am so sorry for the news of your husband.

@TheWooisStrong I am sorry for your family's loss. I'm thinking of you all.

From my last post I totally over did it, I am half way through week 7 and suffering for over doing it. I had to pick up a prescription for my OH and went into Aldi I had to stand for quite a while holding things I was still to weak to be holding I got home and as I was washing things down I took a huge asthma attack, which triggered a massive adrenaline rush and then put me on edge. I then had a big argument with my DH and didn't sleep very well so had yesterday on 3 hrs sleep. Yesterday I took DH to the hospital to be checked over and they said there was no sign of the virus which is good but doesn't explain his severe chest pain and shortness of breath so much so his sats were at 95 at rest and dropping lower while sleeping. I had to take him there and back and keep up with our house as we have two kids (15 and 11) who seem to have recovered. Over all I am shattered as I haven't slept and my breathing is sore and feels weak sats dropping to 95 for my self now. I have taken my inhalers and just taken a Kalms night in search of some light relief with this pain and rest to help me recover it's just not happening. I am feeling so fed up. I cannot stress this enough don't over do it and listen to your body. I am hoping for a better day tomorrow if I can eventually get some sleep.

WorriesomeDad · 23/04/2020 04:07

@NordSjoen two nights out of the past three have been exactly the same experience as yours. Felt pretty good during the day but then breathing bad enough at night to get very very little sleep. I want this thing out of my lungs. Day 36 (or maybe 41). @Moodgie I know exactly what you mean, great to hear everyone getting better but worried it will be just me left!

WorriesomeDad · 23/04/2020 04:10

@pinkoneblueone here too feeling somewhat despondent. Would trade this breathing for a spot of post viral fatigue any day!

pinkoneblueone · 23/04/2020 04:23

@WorriesomeDad I'm back to not being able to sleep because of being SOB and lots of pain in my back shoulders and arms. I am so tired and equally scared of sleeping because I am scared of not breathing properly. I think some of this is also fuelled by Anxiety from my husband's hospital visit as it was as though we haven't had the virus as he didn't look sick and all his obs were ok (after his heart rate went down and sats at 95) and lungs are clear despite his severe chest pain and breathing issues, it's made me feel wonder if it's not the virus then what is it? Though we have been told we did have the virus and it has come in persistent waves. I am so utterly fed up and questioning everything with a new fear. The news today hasn't helped. In short this evening I am a mess.

pinkoneblueone · 23/04/2020 04:27

@WorriesomeDad how many days are you?

Casino218 · 23/04/2020 04:52

@shrogingerskitty I've just read your updates. I'm really sorry to hear your news. Thinking of you both Thanks
