A thread for people with CV19 symptoms that have lasted for more than a couple of weeks.

First thread here

(Called 40+ to keep a rough tab on when the first symptoms started being reported on MN).

I am B+ too.

I guess the goal is to reduce inflammation as much as we could to get the body back to normal (in our power of-course)

wallyrag · 19/04/2020 21:42

@OneDayAtATime123 thank you 😊 I'm dreading tonight. Couldn't sleep til 6 as was scared to, and waiting for ventolin to work. Haven't slept all day and I wanted to in preparation for if it was another bad night. Sounds like you're really improving so that's great to hear!

OneDayAtATime123 · 19/04/2020 21:54

@wallyrag
Anxiety is difficult to control and causes SoB and Stress that only makes the situation worse. I would speak to the GP and see if he could give u something to relax. It does help. Also eating close to bedtime did not work for me.
I also found sleeping on the stomach a very good idea, if u could.

There does seem to be more A types here than you'd expect when A is not the most common blood group. Of course if there ever is a correlation, we'll never actually know because we're nearly all untested.

OneDayAtATime123 · 19/04/2020 22:08

I think A and O (+) account for approx. 70% of types. I did not know this.

@TheDrsWife46 I can’t quite tell you that but I am around day 30 and have started to feel a bit better (for now) in the last couple of days. Someone said dips from day 20-30ish are common. Fingers crossed you are near the end of your dip.

Thanks for the links @OneDayAtATime123.

TheDrsWife46 · 19/04/2020 22:37

@Egghead68 thankyou for reaching out to me im a real mess today. X

Moodgie · 19/04/2020 22:43

Sending hugs @TheDrsWife46

fedupofbed · 19/04/2020 22:45

I know nights are the most anxious times, and wish everyone a peaceful and calm night.

@wallyrag I find the Queens Hospital exercises helpful (though I know they're not endorsed by all sources now). They make my lungs feel more open but they also really calm and ground me. I listen to light-hearted podcasts to take my mind off worrying thoughts and get in the sleep zone. I also find a hot water bottle on my chest (or feet!) helps.

I am blood group B+

Sending calm sleep vibes to you all. Xx

isitorisntit · 19/04/2020 22:56

@TheDrsWife Day 27/28 for me I had a down turn. Lots of chest/back pain again and then during the evening of day 28 I had a backwards nosebleed. Blood was running down my throat. Literally running. GP @NHS 111 was very reassuring the next day, and I heeded her advice and totally stopped. For days. Felt better again and for some reason yesterday (day 36), my chest/shoulders and lungs became really sore again. It's so up and down. But yes, was a bad time for me, too.

Dorual · 19/04/2020 23:11

Hi @TheDrsWife46

Not day 28, but day 19... and bad tummy here. Which is new. I've felt OK most of the day and then after dinner, lung/ back pain and stomach cramps.

Dorual · 19/04/2020 23:21

That expert from Birmingham that was Covid + has scared me a bit! Just by describing how terrified he was that he was going to suddenly deteriorate fast. This is one scary and unpredictable virus. It's horrid. I can't believe before long the schools may be opened and it'll be like a viral hotbed.

TheDrsWife46 · 19/04/2020 23:21

I genuinely feel like im slowly dying of this rather than slowly recovering.

onlinelinda · 19/04/2020 23:22

I have been so much better since day 32, @TheDrsWife46

TheDrsWife46 · 19/04/2020 23:32

@onlinelinda thankylu for answering me. Im in real turmoil here tonight. I cannot settle or get any kind of peace

Dorual · 19/04/2020 23:33

Maybe it has made you vitamin/mineral deficient @TheDrsWife46. I read somewhere that the virus left someone anaemic. Which does seem to be a theme among some of us here too.

You could ask your GP for bloods to check? Or I use Medichecks to keep an eye on my iron levels. They do vitamin screens and all sorts.

We just need the antibody test don't we?

isitorisntit · 19/04/2020 23:34

@TheDrsWife46 I said exactly that to the GP from 111. Like it's eating me alive or something. She assured me that there's hundreds of people feeling the same and it will take months rather than weeks to recover. She gently pointed out that maybe I should've gone to hospital at its worst. Maybe then, our cases are all that 'mild' and this is to be expected.

TheDrsWife46 · 19/04/2020 23:43

What is medichecks @Dorual
@isitorisntit I couldnt get admitted at my worst because I was breathing okay

Dorual · 19/04/2020 23:45

Online blood test company. They offer fingerprick tests. You send it back and the lab sends the results back and a doctor comments.

No one coukd be admitted unless severe difficulty breathing or blue round mouth, I was told by 111.

Bornlazy · 19/04/2020 23:51

@TheDrsWife46 I was awful on day 28 and posted the next day about how fed up I was of not being able to shake it off. I wouldn’t say I’m 100% yet on day 37 but I’m so much better than I was.

I know you think you’re not getting any better but as an outsider looking in you definitely are. It’s just two steps forward and one back just hang in there.

Porcupineinwaiting · 19/04/2020 23:57

@TheDrsWife46 hello again.

I felt pretty good (if not virus free) days 22-29, a bit better every day. Then day 30 I dipped, burning lungs, burning skin, sore throat, swollen glands- worst I'd felt for weeks. No sleep at all. Day 31 felt utterly washed out and back to being scared about just going into reverse. Today, day 32, better than ever. That's been the pattern with me so far- each dip is followed by another step up. Not that that makes them any less terrifying.

TheDrsWife46 · 20/04/2020 04:46

@Porcupineinwaiting and @Bornlazy thankyou for answering me. I managed some sleep, on my front listening to youtube meditation. I am not coping with this at all the neurological symptoms make me so frightened and im getting no real rest or respite. Im tired of no help, the despondency and abandonment is really damaging me.

Bornlazy · 20/04/2020 05:47

@TheDrsWife46 I think you should try not to lie on your front as if the tingling and weak feeling in your legs is coming from your spine lying on your front won’t be helping it. If you feel your breathing is bad then prop yourself up with some pillows instead. Maybe you should have went to the Covid hub as sometimes actually human interaction face to face can make a big difference. Did you say earlier that you were feeling an urgency when you needed to pass urine or was that one of the questions they asked you?
