A thread for people with CV19 symptoms that have lasted for more than a couple of weeks.

First thread here

(Called 40+ to keep a rough tab on when the first symptoms started being reported on MN).

OP posts:
godhelpusall · 19/04/2020 18:36

I've had a great day but now feel sick. I'm so over this.

Rosesofeyam · 19/04/2020 18:42

Well, I have decided to move on from the lungs thread.
Day 32 ( started having symptoms on 18th March).
The last few days have been awful.
My chest is getting better not as much gunk. My main symptom now is palpitations and a quick heartbeat type thing. It's horrible and takes my breath away for a few seconds and then back to normal. It's an odd feeling, I've never had it before.
I am still tired if I try and do too much. I.e trying to sort dinner /laundry .
I just wish, like everyone else, that things get back to normal.

Busybee37 · 19/04/2020 18:42

@Moodgie @alittleprivacy I wondered about the blood group thing too as I'm A- and on day 34, still very up and down. DH on the other hand is O and had a sore throat for a couple of days but has been fine otherwise.
Thanks to all for these really helpful threads, it has been reassuring (although depressing) to know that I am not alone x

Feelpoorly · 19/04/2020 18:44

@Linus1972 that is interesting. I am changing my eating habits too now to see if that helps. And thanks for the tip re bananas and biscuits- will give that a go!

Rosesofeyam · 19/04/2020 18:44

I'm A+

godhelpusall · 19/04/2020 18:46

I'm A+ and so are my children

Moominmamma33 · 19/04/2020 18:46

Blood group idea is intriguing. I'm B+...

Meercatmama · 19/04/2020 19:14

I am 0 negative but although I have a lot of your symptoms mine are getting better slowly Still getting back aches, tiredness and a bit breathless but generally starting to feel a little bit more myself. I wonder if it is to do with blood groups

Feelpoorly · 19/04/2020 19:37

@rosesofeyam I have experienced the same, I know exactly what you mean. It is a horrible sensation.

Egghead68 · 19/04/2020 19:41

A+ but a family member is A- and was over it (bar fatigue) in two weeks.

wallyrag · 19/04/2020 19:48

Thank you again to those who replied last night, I was scared and you really helped.
Couldn't sleep last night or today, Doctor has prescribed steroids. Woke feeling much better than in the night, it gradually worsened and now improved.
Still find stairs hard work. As you've all been here do you have any advice please of what to do or to expect, or if what eased your symptoms. I'm maintaining my sats even on standing, but can get short of breath sat up in bed and lungs feel heavy.

TheWooisStrong · 19/04/2020 19:49

O+ here. I am getting better slowly, I just need to not overdo it.
Husband and children are A+ and have had an easier time of it than me.

Standrewsschool · 19/04/2020 19:56

Hi all, day 35 and happy to report that I am still feeling better. Not even sure I have coughed much today either. Went back to work (part time) Tired in the evenings, but okay, so although I officially don’t have it now (was tested), I don’t feel shot of it completely,

Sorry to hear so many people are still not feeling any better. Hope you all turn a corner soon.

Needsomegoodnews · 19/04/2020 19:58

@alittleprivacy I saw about blood type being a factor a while ago too.

I’m A+ (as it seems a fair proportion of us are...) DH is O- and had very mild symptoms

OneDayAtATime123 · 19/04/2020 20:01

@wallyrag
I am moving to the fifth week too. SoB is still there. From what I hear it will take time for the cells to recover or turnover. Mild fatigue still persists but I try to not overdo anything. Hot showers and nasal irrigation helps .
I personally have found and read on other forums that breathing exercises and some movement (if possible) helps a lot to expand the lungs and aid in the recovery.

wallyrag · 19/04/2020 20:08

@OneDayAtATime123 thanks for the advice and sorry to hear you've been so unwell for so long. I'm in the first few days so I'm nervous. Just cannot sleep but I think it's the ventolin making me jittery

fuggyfush · 19/04/2020 20:18

@OneDayAtATime123

Whilst really unwell my tachycardia was 140-170bpm at rest. Now it's more like 95-110 at rest (lying in bed or sitting on sofa watching TV)

Your heart rate should be < 100 but only at rest. It's absolutely normal to go higher when active, including on a walk.

Dorual · 19/04/2020 20:29

I think I am A+ too. I hope we don't have this for good, until we get plasma.

isitorisntit · 19/04/2020 20:46

@longshot started Fri 13th so 5 weeks and 2 days, I think? 37?

isitorisntit · 19/04/2020 21:07

I'm so sorry so many of you are going through it like me. Its hard not knowing if we've had it and not knowing what's normal and what's to be expected. I feel people in real life. Can't quite believe me and how long it's going on. After total rest and feeling lots better, day 36 chest and shoulder pain returned and my cough increased again and I was slightly wheezy. Today (37) less chest pain but nose and chest feel sore like I've breathed in chemicals or been for a run in the freezing cold.

OneDayAtATime123 · 19/04/2020 21:08

@wallyrag
Just to get you a little less nervous, my SoB symptoms are very mild. My stats are good (98 ~99% O2). I can walk 20 minutes daily now, without getting exhausted or having my heart rate out of control.
My SoB symptoms can be described as not being able to take a deep breath all the way to the top and shallow breathing at times.
You will be fine.

TheWooisStrong · 19/04/2020 21:11

I’ve now got one sided pain mid-back on the right. Sensible methinks I’ve probably just pulled a muscle.
Paranoid me thinks Covid is now attacking my kidneys.

The worse thing about this virus is not knowing what to expect.

OneDayAtATime123 · 19/04/2020 21:24

A great article from an expert who suffered first hand.

pinkoneblueone · 19/04/2020 21:31

Thank you to all that have signed the petition!

My husband and I are both B+ so our children should be too.

godhelpusall · 19/04/2020 21:31

@OneDayAtATime123 funnily enough I was reading this earlier.
