Just in case we have more crimes, murders and general mischief to confess to.

Please leave your shoes at the door, have a Dettol wash and then stand awkwardly while not consuming any perishables.

Ironic smiles and head tilts are ALOUD but absolutely no laughter, fun or enjoying yourselves.

Disinfectant and disposable whips will be provided.

I fear I've committed mass murder today. I bought hair dye (at last!!), face packs, tennis balls for the dogs, Pukka tea from Holland and Barrett, popcorn.. Budweiser. Other random things. And I had my DDs with me. And DD1 has come home to sit in the garden and drink tea. I can't explain how normal today feels. How GOOD. How much we all needed this especially after how deathly I felt yesterday with the migraine and the panic.

I think whilst we can all be as careful as possible, we do need to remember that mental health is a thing. And disconnecting people is taking its toll on MANY.

CrowCat · 19/04/2020 15:49

@lilac mum flatly refuses to listen to anyone other than my brother, who lives with her and is clearly the fountain of all knowledge. It's really quite a worry that she thinks the virus will (in her words) 'disappear after lockdown' because this is w woman who lived through outbreaks of polio and smallpox and knows those things didn't just disappear in a matter of weeks.

PrincessConsueIaBananaHammock · 19/04/2020 15:55

@CrowCat enjoy it! Sounds like bliss, and you're allowed to feel normal for a bit.

I think the whole the virus will be gone is a defence mechanism for many, get through this and we're home free. It would also explain the absurdity and totalitarianism of the frothers, in their head you obey the rules, you take it to the extreme, you do x,y,z and not only will this be over, but it'll be over quicker. For a lot of them it seems to be a "last till the sunrise" scenario. Completely deluded and irrational ofc .

Oh ffs someone is looking for random friends for her (allegedly) kid to play fortnite with.Confused

I'd take the frothers over this.

@Princess you're probably right. I'm a horrible daughter for bursting her bubble.

This afternoon was MEGA. Absolutely just what we all needed.

Pinkginhelps · 19/04/2020 17:09

@Maxandezra No problem...half the muffins will be yours.

@PrincessConsueIaBananaHammock Your most regal of highnesses, what a delightful and photogenic pussy you have.

@isabellerossignol or should that be Boris? I do hope you got your mitts on some lovely strong pain killers and are making the most of being a wounded soldier

@CrowCat how did the hair turn out?

In other news..... Temporary live-in boyfriend has excelled himself by returning with an essential bag full of very good wine, some bubbles and some sparkly glitter stuff to put in the bubbles. We thought we could do glitter pee out the front window instead of clapping on Thursday.

Willow2017 · 19/04/2020 17:18

LOL at the glitter pee! Now thats much more useful!

Well ds2 and I have killed a small town this afternoon. Been out the back 'not a garden by any stretch of the imagination no matter what the HA called it' pulling weeds and watering the pots and then we went round the front and did the same! Shoot me now. Was very good, if back breaking, to be outside and having a laugh with him. Saw neighbours from a distance chatting to each other from their garden walls oh the horror! The town will be a ghost town by midnight.

Crowcat sounds like a lovely day for you and family. Common sense has to prevail over the frothers absolutism.

LilacTree1 · 19/04/2020 17:24

Crowcat good for you.

Loving the glitter pee idea.

PrincessConsueIaBananaHammock · 19/04/2020 17:25

I could honestly cry! Just noticed the freezer door was left open all night. Had a lovely argument with OH and just spent the last hour chucking stuff out and cleaning the freezer.
Most of it was DD's food as well, she's one of those kids. Fucking fuckity fuck fuck.

TheGreatWave · 19/04/2020 17:25

crow sounds like a good day.

Painting all finished, even managed some gardening, just need to tidy up now.

TheGreatWave · 19/04/2020 17:40

Oh no Princess. Can any of it be cooked and re-frozen?

Pinkginhelps · 19/04/2020 17:42

@PrincessConsueIaBananaHammock This is bad!

Now it's time to be all saintly and smile sweetly and be extra calm and forgiving despite the RAGE inside. This is bound to make OH feel extra guilty. Send him shopping tomorrow with a very specific list to replace freezer contents. Have a drink and I've sent you several cyber muffins.

Oh, and stroke your pussy! That should calm you down.

Trebolla · 19/04/2020 17:45

Oh no Princess 😫 that’s shit. Can anything be salvaged?

One piece of good news apologies for it being very me-specific - when we moved I thought I’d lost the ring given to me on my 18th by my grandparents. I’ve just found it when doing the housework. We moved in fucking October!

PrincessConsueIaBananaHammock · 19/04/2020 17:58

I've kept the veg, planned to cook some and keep some others ,but a few bags were actually smelly so It got in my head (never claimed to be rational) so chucked anything meaty.

I probably would've been fine(never pick up tummy bugs and only got sick from food two or three times my whole life) with some of it, but I just can't risk it with DD, and OH gets the shits enough as it is.

In normal times I'd probably been meh, but right now it really floored me. It's so stupid. Guess that's my weekly wobble. Will prolly whinge for a while,so just ignore me.

PrincessConsueIaBananaHammock · 19/04/2020 17:59

@Trebolla better late than never I guess. Well done though, I bet that made you happy.

OP posts:
Trebolla · 19/04/2020 18:03

Keep complaining Princess - this is a safe space!
And yeah - I cried for a little while first. I was devastated when I thought I’d lost it.

CrowCat · 19/04/2020 18:25

Ah that's shit @Princess what an absolute faff.

I've had a good day. The first in a very long time. I'm going to have a soak then stop the grey hair from taking over my entire head.

Just a quick rant regarding frothers and curtain twitchers. DS has been without a washer for a few weeks (not great with a baby in the house!) and this aft a mate of his said he'd bring over his old but still decent one, just drop it in then naff off. He brought his brother with him and between the 3 of them they got the old one into the back garden and the new one into the kitchen. Then off they trot. He's just messaged me to say police turned up at his door as they'd had a report of him having a big party in his garden. Fucking curtain twitchers not bothering to see what was actually going on. Gahhh. That is all.

As you were.

PrincessConsueIaBananaHammock · 19/04/2020 18:29

Washer parties.. is this what the cool kids are up to now?

Seriously, some people all froth and no brain.

OP posts:
Maxandezra · 19/04/2020 19:06

pink thanks, muffins were delicious!
princess oh no, thats shit. definitely a good reason for a wobble, but hope youre feeling less wobbly soon.
crow that sounds a great day, and it is so, so important to look after everyone's mental health. Can't believe the washer police though Hmm

quite a pleasant day here. blitzed ds2 room which I have neglected a bit lately (mostly cause I used to do it in the mornings before work and he always still in bed now!) done eleventy million loads of his washing.
Then pottered in the graden and planted up the last few of my illegally aquired plants.

actually feeling quite tired now, hopeing for a good night's sleep tonight. Back to work tomroow. trying not to stress about it.

Under His Eye

Pinkginhelps · 19/04/2020 19:17

Princess...you will look back and laugh (ONE DAY).

PS anyone think we should start a campaign to have 2020 started again on Jan 1st 2021? I'm feeling distinctly short changed.

Willow2017 · 19/04/2020 19:18

Oh thats crap Princess it surely deserves a wobble in normal times never mind now.

Crow I hope the police knew who reported them and went and had a word about getting their facts right! What a crappy thing to do.

I went on that 'recycling centre' thread, wrote a big post then deleted it and came off again. Some bloody awful sanctimonious posts plus one downright vile about council workers thinking themselves to good to be working yadda yadda. Had a vent then didnt post, probbly just as well. I understand why they are shut if the workers have been getting abuse trying to get people to comply with SD and putting their own rubbish in the bins, few arseholes spoiling it for all of us. We are drowning under glss recycling! We only have one paper/plastic recycling bin and one general waste bin once a fortnight so all those spouting off about having glass, garden waste, general waste, food waste all collected seperately every week should be enough for everyone and to stop moaning about it! Grrrr typical MN if it happens to you it happens everywhere and nowhere and nobody has a different experience. Happens on so many threads you would think by now people would get it?

CrowCat · 19/04/2020 19:25

Made the mistake of trying to make a rational comment on an irrational thread. Meh. Frothers United that one.

PrincessConsueIaBananaHammock · 19/04/2020 19:26

Princess...you will look back and laugh

I bet! Me poking various things to check how hard they are, poke again to double check, try to break them with my hand to triple check ,smelling bags(eurgh) and ice cream dripping everywhere.

Now there's no ice cream.Sad

@CrowCat I'm glad you had such a nice day. Step away from the crazies for now.

I got proper told for expressing worries on the "mates for my kid " thread. At least no one else is posting so hopefully it'll die off.

OP posts:
Willow2017 · 19/04/2020 19:58

Princess lots of people were pointing out the bleeding obvious on that thread funny how they always just round on one person not everyone..happened to me recently too.

On another thread I got told off, tongue firmly in posters cheek though, and to stop being rational on a thread Grin
