Just in case we have more crimes, murders and general mischief to confess to.

Please leave your shoes at the door, have a Dettol wash and then stand awkwardly while not consuming any perishables.

Ironic smiles and head tilts are ALOUD but absolutely no laughter, fun or enjoying yourselves.

Disinfectant and disposable whips will be provided.

Is it good news that I’ve seen a batshit - pun intended - non corona thread?

About a dog.

Must watch rest of Quiz now.

CrowCat · 18/04/2020 23:02

@Maxandezra @PrincessConsueIa it's been a thoroughly naff day and now the 12 hours is up and I'm due another dose, I feel ok. Think I might give them a miss over the weekend and see if my gp can prescribe something different on Monday.

@LilacTree1 I'm not the only one that's had a bad reaction to them then? I've never had them before.

In better news I had a fab soak in the bath which I think helped with the migraine/panic combo, and I'm 'accidentally' bumping into my DD1 in town tomorrow. Buzzing Smile

LilacTree1 · 18/04/2020 23:06

Crow I had them for a few ear infections, it was an ongoing problem in my 20s. I had to be careful what I ate, I got stomach ache and the GP told me to eat very plain food.

Wish you better ASAP Flowers

Willow2017 · 18/04/2020 23:10

Evening all.
I see the newly appointed cabinet are as crazy as ever, very reassuring.
Tugs forlock to our Glorious Leader.
Too much to reply to individually but laughed a lot reading it all.
Your poor mum Princess it must be hard on her when she is normally 'out there' being active.
Loving the kitty photo, the hoody and the crazy shoes!

I missed the masks thread too it was zapped when I tried it earlier.

Hope everyone is getting over the wobbles (unless its drink related then carry on)
I was late to open the wine so very proud of myself Grin ok I was working later than usual but its still a win as far as I am concerned.
DS2 made banana bread and buns to use up the dodgy bananas today, very tasty they are too so probably killed a few hundred people using up actual food today instead of gravel from out the front. That nd buying bags of mini eggs as they were half price and more wine. My little 'shop' when I finished work consisted of 3 bags of mini eggs, 2 lindor eggs and 2 bottles of wine and some Nytol!!!! That would have raised a few frothers blood pressuer if anyone had actually noticed. As it was the man nearest me just said 'Good evening' and smiled as he passed. I mean SMILED! is that even allowed now?

Must read that very comprehensive list up thread to see if it is or not or is probably or maybe it is every 2nd tuesday in a month with an A in it?
Off to find the dog thread Wink

CrowCat · 18/04/2020 23:10

Thanks @LilacTree1 Smile

DancelikeEmmaGoldman · 18/04/2020 23:21

Oh god Lilac, I was just thinking I might blow a gasket at one more parody song. They were funny at about hour 00:02 and not after that - you’re right, all the songs are wrong.

I’ve been reading the irritated thread on AIBU and laugh/cringing. Those poor women. I’ve never been more grateful to live alone than during this crisis. I’ve even resisted the attempts of friends to involve me in Zoom catch-ups.

For all of you having a wobble, that’s so normal. But others have been here before us and made it through, so I hold onto my final shreds of faith in humans. Although a couple of my close friends have gone full conspiracy theory, which is worrying. I’m hoping it’s just the result of stress and day-drinking, and they’ll revert to their normal selves at some point.

LilacTree1 · 18/04/2020 23:35

Dance sorry about the song, my bad

I haven’t seen any and I was actually thinking of your username and the I Ran scene in the film and then put a random playlist on....sorry.

LilacTree1 · 18/04/2020 23:36

Dance “ Although a couple of my close friends have gone full conspiracy theory, which is worrying.”

I prefer them to the hysterics. Like I said, if I have to wear a mask, I’m going to write “I’d rather wear a tin foil hat” on it.

But....mask thread alerted me to the fact that they’re not recommended fir asthmatics, so I’ll take that up with the Mayor if I have to.

DancelikeEmmaGoldman · 19/04/2020 00:36

Not to fret Lilac, I think we’ve all got a minor pressure point.

I have a friend who has gone the full hysteric as well; I’m thinking of unfriending her because her behaviour has been so appalling.

I should also confess my sisters, that I have sinned. Our local farmer’s market was on this morning and I spent way too much money on bread and pastries. Not because I needed them, but because I just wanted to leave house.

It was a murderous rampage fuelled by sugar and butter.

DancelikeEmmaGoldman · 19/04/2020 01:43

I will say the sourdough croissant was worth the demise of a small city!

PrincessConsueIaBananaHammock · 19/04/2020 01:48

Decided my out of lockdown celebration will be another tattoo. I've been wanting another for ages but can't fond the inspiration.. the "this is it".

Any ideas? And no,it won't be an Amazon boxes throne.Grin

OP posts:
Thepigeonsarecoming · 19/04/2020 04:32

Surely your tattoo will be one about the “clap”

DancelikeEmmaGoldman · 19/04/2020 06:54

A pair of clapping hands, surmounted by a crown, flanked by two bottles of bleach rampant.

Maxandezra · 19/04/2020 08:29

morning all
princess maybe the amazon smile (see, thats a double sin right there) floating above clapping hands. Could you fit the std soldier in too maybe?

well, I was very restrained in my drinking last night and must say I feel better for it this morning. I sorted through my entire wardrobe and wnet a bit Marie Kondo and got rid of lots of stuff (making way for my new anticipated deliveries Grin )

I am going to do a 6 mile run today. DS2 also wants to do another mile with me - this will be tricky to combine with my 6 mile route so....shock... I may take him out sperately later on! (I figure if I just dont chage out of my running gear then it is still really the same exercise and not really like going out twice!)

can anyone recomend anything for me to watch? I have netflix /prime now or BBC/ITV?4 etc
Wanting a series, dont like comedy, documentaries, romance , really only like good psychological thriller /mysetery/crime drama type stuff.....(I am super fussy and just dont really like most TV it turns out!)

I may bake also today...need to up my sin count a bit I think.

Blessed day.

Pringletastic · 19/04/2020 08:32

lilac - Definitely love that quote for your mask :)

If we’re forced to wear masks on the Tube, I’m going to write “I’d rather be wearing a tin foil hat” on mine.

Has made me think that I bet people are going to start 'madazzling' their masks with sequins and shit. Well....possibly not shit.

I have nothing to report so far. I have been perfect and am single handedly protecting our Angles in Blue. Of course, it's not even 9am yet,, so give me time,

I only had one fire last night as DC has run out of things to hit with the axe. Technique is really improving and I only had to dodge one bit of flying timber-shard this time.

BamboozledandBefuddled · 19/04/2020 08:40

Good morning scoundrels Smile

A pair of clapping hands, surmounted by a crown, flanked by two bottles of bleach rampant

This sounds perfect but can I suggest the addition of mantling in the form of a cat eared fluffy hoodie Grin

PrincessConsueIaBananaHammock · 19/04/2020 09:40

Morning subjects.

Yeah,I'm not defacing my body that way, just to give you all a giggle. I'm not that benevolent a leader.

@Maxandezra home before dark is quite good ,but only one series.

A very old one that I found really good was Lie to me.

OP posts:
isabellerossignol · 19/04/2020 09:47

Maxandezra have you watched Mindhunter? It's very good.

Wowthisisreal · 19/04/2020 10:01

Good morning fellow reprobates. Gosh I need to catch up on the thread but first I must atone for my sins.

  1. We nearly bought a puppy. Wanted to do it for ages and figured now was a great time. Couldn't work how we were going to get said puppy as law states it's not essential travel. Wasn't too worried but then had visions of being stopped on a motorway. Very relieved we didn't go ahead and buy as now the fog has lifted I can see we are in a global pandemic and WTF WAS I THINKING I CAN BARELY COPE WITH WFH AND CHILDCARE. But it's all cool cool cool and I'm cleaning the house today instead which is just as good honest 🤨. However the mere thought alone of bringing a bundle of joy into our lives has probably caused endless suffering to many.
  1. I didn't clap on Thursday. I know, I know. I should be hung drawn and quartered but I had a migraine and was in bed instead. I was actually quite annoyed when the racket started as it woke both me and DS up. Not fun.
  1. Yesterday I had delivered a completely frivolous purchase of a paddling pool for DS. Obviously a week late. There was actually a full blown argument over this with Mr murderous DPD delivery man, neighbour with dementia and doogooder across the road. Quite stressful.
  1. My house is a tip (another reason we didn't go through with #1) and the thought of being in it for another 3 weeks + means today I am attempting to bring it into order. This will mean using valuable resources from my stock of cleaning products which I may need to replenish at some point. Although as we know cleanliness is next to godliness is next to DONT YOU KNOW THERE IS A VIRUS OUT THERE AND PROBABLY IN HERE?!
Pinkginhelps · 19/04/2020 10:03

Morning Banana republicans.

I'm feeling less wobbly today. Well, mentally that is. My stomache, thighs and butt tell a different story. And cheek bones? Well, they disappeared last week along with my sanity. The great tragedy is that I had been depriving myself of most earthly pleasures, in a bid to squeeze into a tight dress for a black tie event which was cancelled the weekend before lock down. What took 3 months to lose has been regained in 3 weeks.
Wobbly bits aside, I've had a delightful if murderous morning so far. My lovely neighbour has agreed that I can pop some of my bottles into her bin of shame so that I don't look quite so sinful.

I've had a second walk with the dog in the fields behind my house.

Temporary live-in boyfriend has gone out for the day to visit his youngest daughter. Delightful as he is, I'm relishing a day without him lurking. I confess that I'd love a few nights alone in my bed without anyone but me snoring and fidgeting but hey ho, I know I'm lucky to have someone to share this madness with and he's pretty easy to get along with.

Mind you, I'd swap him for a Spanish soldier.

He'll (temp Boyfriend) have to be doused in 70 percent rubbing alchohol and left on the porch for 24 hours before he is allowed back in this evening. I imagine I'd have to do something similar for a clap ridden Spanish soldier.

I shall now enjoy a cup of Earl Grey and a home made chocolate muffin infused with some Baileys left over from Christmas. I substituted 50ml milk for Baileys. Very tasty! I know I should be enjoying a large bowl of gruel but it's Sunday.

Princess..how about two AK47s crossed over a blue angel sitting on a rainbow?

Pinkginhelps · 19/04/2020 10:16

Having just read this thread - see below, I now feel extra grateful to have my temporary live-in boyfriend. I wouldn't even swap him for a Spanish soldier...(grin)

Today’s memes reminded me of the outlaws on this thread.

merryhouse · 19/04/2020 11:11

@Maxandezra have you tried Lucifer? Tom Ellis as the prince of darkness who escapes to LA for a bit and gets involved with a detective. It's amusing but not a comedy, there's a fair bit of love but it's not a romance, and there's definitely mystery and crime and a bit of psychological going on. Five series so far, with another supposedly happening.

CrowCat · 19/04/2020 11:17

Morning all, the sun is shining and I'm taking DD2 into town where we will accidentally bump into (but not physically because 2metres) DD1 and our hearts and souls will be happier for it. Can't wait Smile

Not sure what the head count will be, probably millions.

Just had a very depressing conversation with my mum who seems to think the virus will disappear when lockdown ends. Her reaction to me saying nope I'm sorry but it won't and the risk will be pretty much the same, seems to indicate me and the DC may never be allowed in her house again. Lunacy. Surprised at my mum tbh.

Ah well.

TheGreatWave · 19/04/2020 11:21

Morning all.

More painting, so I will just be using my fruits of murderous labour.

DH though, is going out shortly for bread and milk, those totally unnecessary frivolous food stuffs. Being a Sunday little else will be open at the local shops, so he won't be able to do much tutting at the people who are out.
