@Mammaaof hopefully you and the dc will be fine. My dh is on day 14 and very unwell (shielded group though). I seem to have a mild case (exhaustion, temperature, cough) and 3 of my 4 dc have had very mild cases (temperature and cough, recovered in 4-6 days). Take it easy, relax on screen time, do easy meals, or even just constant snacks. If you can’t care for them let them go to their dad’s: they’d have to go somewhere and it sounds likely he’s exposed anyway and may be asymptomatic. But there’s a good chance you’ll manage 💐

simplekindoflife · 11/04/2020 10:47

I'm somewhere between day 14 and 19. I had a good day yesterday (miles from well but able to walk about and go out in the garden) but I had a bad night and I've woken up feeling so breathless again with bad burning chest pains. My heart feels like it's beating out of my chest, I'm all shaky.

I don't think I can't take anymore of this! When will it stop?! I just want to feel well again and enjoy easter with my kids Sad

123Dancewithme · 11/04/2020 10:57

Does anyone else have shortness of breath as their only symptom? I’ve had this since yesterday morning. Could be hay fever I suppose but I don’t usually get that.

Casino218 · 11/04/2020 11:27

Keep completing the Covid tracker folks. It will help feed into the information for scientists that may help us all.

WorriesomeDad · 11/04/2020 11:38

How are you feeling @Casino218 given you are that bit further down the line?

I know exactly what you mean @simplekindoflife, just been sat on the sofa all morning feeling a bit breathless and fast heart rate after a crap night. Can’t believe it’s still like this after so long. Just need to stay positive that this will pass. Really wish I could just press fast forwards to feeling well again!

UncomfortableBadger · 11/04/2020 11:39

@simplekindoflife Same here! I’m on day 16ish now - had enjoyed three really good days then the chest pains and discomfort at the base of my lungs kicked in again last night. I’ve had a really quiet few days so it’s not a question of me over-exerting myself with activity. I’m so bored by this now...

Casino218 · 11/04/2020 11:47

@WorriesomeDad I'm day 32. Had a couple of rough days again day 30 and 31 but no chest pain today for the first time since about day 11! Also didn't wake feeling as hungover. So feel ( tentatively) like I've made a slight improvement. How's you?

MillStone · 11/04/2020 11:48

@simplekindoflife and @UncomfortableBadger

I'm at the same point / pattern as you. Do you still have a fever, even if only a very low grade fever? I'm slightly hot to touch but my hands are constantly clammy and my armpits are streaming. I'm also getting really bad night sweats still too. My temp should be 36 but I'm hovering around 36.8 at the moment.

Pokemontrainer · 11/04/2020 11:48

scubadive we have a very small concrete type patio but I will take it.

As I understand it we can't go out for exercise until after isolation. To be fair we had not been going out anyway and I feel it is better that way. But it is strange I am sure I read guidance that said if you had to go out you could and exercise counts as health reasons.

I am more or less out of isolation at home. I wear a face mask though.

My husband is feeling low but he thinks it is due to hay fever.

No sign of it from the kids.

I think day 4 to 6 were the worst for me. I feel I have had a lucky escape and almost feel guilty for feeling much better as I know others have it so much worse.

Take care all. Daffodil

MilesJuppIsMyBitch · 11/04/2020 11:57

Thanks so much porcupineinwaiting, Lightsabre and scubadive.

I'm actually feeling better now than I did yesterday, and my chest is clearer.

I should be having a nebuliser delivered today ( as instructed by my GP).

Reading everyone's symptoms on here (and on the 30 thread) I think I have a mild case, but it's taking a long time to recover because of my health problems (COPD and lymphoma).

I will definitely call if I feel any worse (and I know with this illness you can go downhill rapidly), but I've had breakfast in the garden (so, so grateful to have one right now!) & had a sit in the sun.

I really appreciate the responses: it's so nice to feel there are others on the same journey (even if it is the health equivalent of being stuck on the M25 for hours).

Some of you seem to be having massive adrenal responses - all the shaking etc. So sorry for you all.

Notpanickingjustyet · 11/04/2020 11:58

Hello, I feel like I'm intruding on this as you all sound so poorly. I hope everyone makes a recovery soon.
I have no classic symptoms, but started last night with very bad stomach pains and shivering. Today I feel wiped out. As in, I promised my DD we'd make slime. We did. I had to sleep after. I'm exhausted. I'm keeping an eye and have made a few notes. Weirdly, I was so tired last night but even after the stomach pain subsided, I didn't watched trash until 1.30am because I just couldn't sleep.
I wondered if anyone else had stomach problems. I realise it.coypd be anything but haven't been out for weeks.

UncomfortableBadger · 11/04/2020 11:59

@Millstone I haven’t ever had a “formal” fever but my normal temperature is around 35 degrees and I’ve veered from 36 to 37.2 when I’ve been feeling roughest. No clammy hands but very clammy feet, even when my temperature is normal.

Most annoying thing at the moment is the inability to sleep. I’m exhausted and take myself off to bed at 10pm, but can’t drop off until 3.30am or later. So frustrating.

UncomfortableBadger · 11/04/2020 12:04

@Notpanickingjustyet My first symptoms were a churning stomach (which then turned to D&V a few days later), chills and uncontrollable shaking. The chest/lung pains started two or three days later.

Things that have helped me: thermometer, oximeter, long hot showers, sleeping propped up in bed, Gaviscon for the burning chest pain, co-codamol before bed, Benilyn Mucous Cough Max, Otrivine for sinusitis.

MillStone · 11/04/2020 12:10

@UncomfortableBadger

Thanks for your reply and very sorry to hear. I'm the same and not sleeping has been my biggest anxiety. As soon as I drop off I either gasp for air, or if I do nod off, I wake up shortly after with bad nigh sweats / hot / trembling. Temp of 36.5

Frustrating to require sleep in order to get better but being unable to sleep until better.

Notpanickingjustyet · 11/04/2020 12:11

@Uncomfortablebadger thank you for your reply. My husband thinks it's sun stroke but I wasn't in the sun long enough yesterday. I also functioned normally yesterday too. We did so many garden and garage jobs and then boom, hit me last night. Am currently lying on the bed shivering.
Your advice is very much appreciated Smile

UncomfortableBadger · 11/04/2020 12:13

@Millstone Completely feel your pain - the insomnia is crippling. I’m normally a champion sleeper so it’s really upsetting. I feel like my heart is racing & that I’m low on oxygen (even though the oximeter says I’m fine) and I just can’t get comfortable in bed - literally every position is painful/uncomfortable.

UncomfortableBadger · 11/04/2020 12:15

@Notpanickingjustyet It may not be CV but best to behave as though it is, just in case - REST and lots of it! Don’t be tempted to push on if you’re feeling rough.

Notpanickingjustyet · 11/04/2020 12:18

@UncomfortableBadger I will be resting. The thought of doing anything feels tiring.
Could be anything I guess. Thank you for replying and I hope you make a recovery soon and get some sleep.

BreathlessCommotion · 11/04/2020 12:19

I'm on day 2/3. Started Thursday with headache, then increasing cough, then wheezy chest.

I'm isolating in one room. Feel bloody awful, ache all over, woke up last night with pain in left arm that wouldn't go. Chest is tight and breathing hard.

UncomfortableBadger · 11/04/2020 12:29

In case it’s useful for anybody else, here’s how my symptoms have progressed over the past nearly 3 weeks. Still no antigen test but am trying to get hold of an antibody test privately (although am concerned about their sensitivity/efficacy).

Friday (Day 1) - churning tummy in the early hours, headache, dizziness, aches in legs. Temperature 36.2. Funny turn in evening when standing up in kitchen - collapsed into chair feeling faint.

Saturday (Day 2) - churning tummy again this time with nausea. OK-ish until 4.30pm then uncontrollable shivering & chills for 1 hour, sweaty feet, odd face flush. Pain on heart side of chest in late evening. Chills started again at 9.30pm. Temperature 35.1.

Sunday (Day 3) - little sleep overnight. Temperature 34.8 at 9am; after shower, 36.5. Dizzy in shower. Tummy churning & painful. Intermittent chest pain on heart side, started after shower. Sweaty feet. From 4pm, lump in throat making harder to breathe - not solved by taking steamy shower. Pains at bottom of both lungs at front; same height as bra strap. Most comfortable to sit completely upright. When laying on front, back of lungs painful too. Temperature 37.2. Called 111 in evening.

Monday (Day 4) - stomach more settled. Temperature 36.5 first thing. Chest pains on left hand side. Pain at bottom of lungs there but dull. Spoke to GP (on 111s advice) - able to count to 20-30 in one breath so lung function apparently ok. Doesn’t think worthwhile meeting to listen to chest. Lunchtime - chest pains got worse. Hot water bottle, benilyn and paracetamol helping but still headache at back of head plus sinus fullness/pain. Temperature 36.8.

Tuesday (Day 5) - woke up with bad nausea & stomach pain, sick at 8.30am despite having empty tummy. Sinus fullness. Exhaustion & weakness. Some chest pain. Temp 36.4 at 2pm. Able to keep dry crackers and yoghurt down at lunchtime. Sinuses felt very full before bed - used Otrivine which helped. Felt worse from 4.30pm onwards.

Wednesday (Day 6) - Slept well after taking co-codamol before bed. Woke with nausea but passed quickly. Exhaustion & weakness. Symptoms worse from 4pm-ish.
Ben - sweaty and low temperature in early hours.

Thursday (Day 7) - slept ok again after co-codamol. No nausea or chest pains on waking but chest heavy after showering & walking downstairs. Marginally less tired but still wiped out.

Friday (Day 8) - very bad night despite co-codamol. No sleep, racing heart and tight chest. Highly anxious. Sick at 7am & stomach churning again. Couldn’t get comfortable except lying face down. Exhausted. Shower, breathing exercises, co-codamol, Benilyn mucous cough before bed.

Saturday (Day 9) - good night’s sleep. No nausea on waking but chest still heavy. Lost 4.5kg in past week. Temperature 34.8. Felt fine as day went on - had appetite and felt more like myself.
Same pre-bed routine at c.11pm but...

Sunday (Day 10) - very bad night. No sleep as lungs burning and tight chest. Had hot shower at 3am but didn’t help. Sick upon waking again despite empty tummy. Felt sweaty & feverish but temperature 36.5. Exhaustion & feeling weak. Dry cough started mid-afternoon; tickly in upper airways rather than in lungs. Better night’s sleep leading into Monday however - slept from 11pm to 7am with 2x co-codamol.

Monday (Day 11) - no nausea on waking, chest pains milder but a mild dry cough. Appetite returning. Developed horrible sinus headache at lunchtime, not relieved by paracetamol. Feeling more human. Went to bed at 10pm but poor night’s sleep again as couldn’t get comfortable. Very anxious at 1am and racing heart.

Tuesday (Day 12) - despite virtually no sleep, feeling better in self. No nausea on waking and chest pains felt like tightness only. Losing lots of hair. Less exhaustion but still tired. Diarrhoea at 11.30pm.

Wednesday (Day 13) - still poor sleep but feeling broadly ok. Managed to WFH a little. Chest pains less obvious, no nausea & feel a bit more refreshed. Temperature 35.8.

Thursday (Day 14) - better sleep but still not usual 8 hours. Feeling much more human - able to walk around outside in sun briefly. No nausea or chest pains at rest. Temperature 35.5. Struggled to get to sleep and tummy unsettled overnight.

Friday (Day 15) - feeling better again on getting up despite poor sleep. Able to stand up for longer & do some cooking in kitchen. In late evening chest pains resumed over heart and at base of lungs. Lost appetite again completely by lunchtime. Didn’t fall asleep until 2am. Temperature 36.8.

Saturday (Day 16) - woke with chest pains again and burning lungs. Took paracetamol for first time in 3 days which helped. Temperature 36.4.

MilesJuppIsMyBitch · 11/04/2020 12:46

Thanks UnComfortableBadger; that's really comprehensive and helpful.

I have had a very similar progression to yours, but much milder.

Hope you continue to feel better.

Needsomegoodnews · 11/04/2020 12:48

Back again! Thinking of everyone who is feeling rubbish with this.

Since day 21, I’ve felt on the up and almost back to normal the past two days (but slight breathlessness on exertion). Today must be day 26 (since first fever) and my temp is back up to 37.6 (having been below 37.2 all week) and feeling breathless at rest (but normal breathing rate) - hoping it’s just a blip. Just want it gone.

Others at similar phase or longer continue to reassure me that this is just part of the recovery though @Casino218 @TheDrsWife46 @WorriesomeDad @Porcupineinwaiting and hopefully others no
longer posting because they’re now well

UncomfortableBadger · 11/04/2020 12:53

@Needsomegoodnews I think they’re actually all over on the 30+ days thread for those who are long suffering. Some progress being made amongst them though, which is encouraging.

Crayfishforyou · 11/04/2020 12:57

Day 13
I am back from the hospital
My sats were about 97, which may be normal. I am slightly anaemic which tends to hide O2 levels on pulse oximeters.
My heart has picked up and is now almost stable resting at 70.
I have clear sounding lungs which I was really relieved about.
GP said it could have been a 'blip dip' and I should start feeling better in a few days. I have ordered an oximeter and I am to ring 111 again if it goes below 97, as in my terms it's probably more like 92/93.
I also have some mega iron supplements.

UncomfortableBadger · 11/04/2020 13:03

Oh @crayfish - so sorry to hear that you’ve been in hospital but great news that your lungs sound clear. That must be a huge relief?

Do bear in mind that the iron supplements can cause nasty stomach upsets, so if you have a sore tummy it may well be the supplements rather than another virus symptom.
