@MillStone nope, no temperature. I don't really get temperatures though, even when I had pneumonia 5 years ago.

Just wanted to say, I took some Kalms tablets earlier and although I can't sleep atm (even though I'm exhausted!) and my chest still hurts, it's really calmed my heart rate down. I may venture downstairs for some vitamin D in a minute...

Trying to do everything I can to beat this virus - multivitamins, echinacea, hot drinks, breathing exercises... is there anything else I can do??

MilesJuppIsMyBitch · 11/04/2020 13:30

Crayfish those SATs sound really good I think Smile

MilesJuppIsMyBitch · 11/04/2020 13:30

Hope you feel reassured by the medics Thanks

alittleprivacy · 11/04/2020 13:32

Hey guys. I haven't been on much this week as I felt pretty much better Monday-Thursday. Was a total fool and went over the top in my giddy excitement with my wellness on Thursday and totally and utterly overdid it. Breathlessness came back that night and is continuing. It's a bit better today than it was yesterday. I have a feeling I'll spend the next few days going through the cycle of breathlessness which eventually gives way to more and more chest pain. Then just chest pain, then recovery. It really is essential to phase in physical activity once you feel recovered and not overdo it.

Tajiri · 11/04/2020 13:40

For any frontline NHS workers with no underlying health issues, how long was it before you went back to work? Especially if you're working 12 hour shifts?

Tajiri · 11/04/2020 13:42

Oh and wearing full PPE for that 12 hour shift. I already feel SOB so the thought of wearing the FFP3 mask is dreadful!

MillStone · 11/04/2020 13:59

@posteralittleprivacy

Sorry to hear it and also to be nosey but out of interest would you mind sharing how long you were ill for and what sort of activities you did when you started feeling better that have made you have your small relapse?

WorriesomeDad · 11/04/2020 14:32

Hey @Casino218 great to hear. That sounds like your steadily on the up bar a few downs. Having a bit of a dip today to be honest, past 4 days had been ok but lungs feel very irritated today and breathlessness more pronounced. Reassured by a few snippets of information from various places that this can take a long time to recover from.

Crayfishforyou · 11/04/2020 14:36

I am very much reassured. I can now tell those panic attacks to fuck off with the rest of the virus.
I don't have fully functioning kidneys either but as my blood pressure was normal it seems they are doing OK.
I have to check my pressure at home as usually it's really low but all signs are good.
I just hope I don't dip again. Yesterday was very scary.

Lightsabre · 11/04/2020 15:36

Glad you feel reassured @Crayfishforyou. I think that's what a lot of us need - a once over in a clinic, bloods, an X-ray etc but obviously it's just not possible for everyone at the moment.

@Tajiri, the masks are so hot and horrible. I think you'd need to be at full breathing capacity to return to work and wear one.

alittleprivacy · 11/04/2020 15:43

Sorry to hear it and also to be nosey but out of interest would you mind sharing how long you were ill for and what sort of activities you did when you started feeling better that have made you have your small relapse?

I was sick for 20 days. Fairly consistently for the first week, then a 2 steps forward 1 step back recovery/relapse phase for most of the next 2. When I'd had 3 solid days of feeling absolutely fine I went OTT. I didn't just feel fine, I felt really, really good, happy energetic, excited to have finally recovered. The first thing I did on Thursday was mow the lawn. I have a big garden and my grass was already overdue for a cut when I got sick, so over 3 weeks on it was a pretty big job. So I did that and if I'm honest my body was telling me to chill out and rest after it but I was stupid and kept going. I did a load of baking. Then I played the tutorial videos DS's dance class had put up on the parents group and like a big fool I did them along with him. Then I went for a walk. Then came home, went into the attic for Easter decorations and decorated.

Seriously stupid stuff. I knew I was in trouble at bedtime. My breathing was unsatisfactory and I couldn't fill my lungs. I was like that all day yesterday. Today I can fill my lungs sometimes but when I do it hurts. From my experience over the last few weeks, I suspect my breathing to become more satisfactory but more painful tomorrow. And eventually my breathing will be satisfying but my chest will hurt. Hopefully then that pain will ease and I'll be better again. But I know that the next time I mow the lawn, that and that alone will be my activity for the day.

MillStone · 11/04/2020 16:03

Thanks, and wow that does sound like a lot of activity. I hope you don't mind I asked, I'm was thinking ahead and It's so difficult not knowing what will and won't be too much.

Great you're recovered though.

BreathlessCommotion · 11/04/2020 16:14

Co-codamol has made a big difference. I have had the left side only chest and arm pain. So odd.

I take its normal to have period when you feel OK and then suddenly exhausted?

alittleprivacy · 11/04/2020 16:28

Thanks, and wow that does sound like a lot of activity. I hope you don't mind I asked, I'm was thinking ahead and It's so difficult not knowing what will and won't be too much.

It's why I posted. That activity would have been nothing to me a couple of months ago but it was downright stupid of me this week. I should have mowed the lawn, rested and maybe done the Easter decorating later if I'd felt up to it. I just felt bad for poor DS as it's just the two of us and he's had me mainly lying in bed or sitting down for 3 weeks and I wanted to do some stuff with him. As I said, I had hints after I did the grass that I needed to rest but I didn't.

I think the number one mantra through this illness has to be 'pay attention to your body.' As soon as it gives you hints that you need to rest, you need to rest right away. Do not try to push on. If it means abandoning plans or disappointing someone, then that's unfortunate but it's better to spend an afternoon recuperating so you don't relapse, instead of spending another few days-weeks with symptoms. I'm really, really, really disappointed with myself as I knew this and ignored it.

LakeFlyPie · 11/04/2020 16:30

Pleased to see so many folk feeling better and note advice not to overdo it when you do feel stronger.
I think my afternoons are the calmest time. Still sleeping most of the time. Think I'm on D3-4, fevers weren't as bad last night, am trying to avoid what ifs but am anxious about chest symptoms starting as haven't had any breathlessness yet. Optimistically hoping I might avoid it but think that might be wishful thinking.
Heard from a colleague today who just had aches and anosmia and now almost finished self isolation. I wondered if there's any correlation with severity of early fevers and ongoing symptoms??
How are Calyx72 and Taffy today? Doing ok I hope.

Pokemontrainer · 11/04/2020 17:37

I had severe fevers possibly early on but seem to be doing ok. From mumsnet I read some information which helped my view not to try treat the fever.

I totally agree with others in that you can't get too excited and try conquer the world when you have that feeling of being so well.

I went for a longish walk yesterday, today I have had to go to bed 3 times.

If you are in early days of this thing so everything you can to rest and then rest some more.

BreathlessCommotion · 11/04/2020 18:10

Has anyone had a strange feeling in their nose. Some were between tingling and burning? And occasionally it feel like I'm going to sneeze and then goes.

LetsBeSensible · 11/04/2020 19:01

Hi all, day 23 I think or 24, feeling ok today and have been taking it fairly easy, also I have not got any real appetite so trying to make myself eat something.
Breathing is good but throat still a bit sore and headache is coming and going, so am trying to keep a lid on my excitement as could easily relapse, I know.

MillStone · 11/04/2020 19:17

Anyone else got yellow mucous?

Throughout today I've had an increase in yellow mucous coming from my Sinuses. I mentioned the mucous, sore throat, glands and ear ache to my surgery's nurse a few days ago and was told not to worry. They said if it goes green or bloody then it's maybe of concern, but as I'd just finished a course of Doxycycline, it's unlikely to be a problem. I'm worried it's the start of a sinus infection.

Calyx72 · 11/04/2020 19:24

Hiya @LakeFlyPie and all
Thanks for thinking of me, I got home today yay! Discharge letter says bilateral pneumonia, slightly raised crp, low potassium, pyrexia and home to recover
I have potassium to take three times a day till tomorrow (because of the diarrhoea)
Still sore breathing in but didn't need O2 and grateful to have been seen (and monitored for 24 hours)
Slept four hours after my DP took me home
Woke soaked in sweat again but not frightened, it's just bilateral pneumonia Grin haha
I had clexane injections yesterday into my tummy in case I had a blood clot but the d-dimer test came back negative
Sending healing to you all xxx

Rhi11 · 11/04/2020 19:56

WorriesomeDad · 11/04/2020 20:06

@Calyx72 that’s great news, glad your back home.

kevintheorangecarrot · 11/04/2020 20:15

Everyone I am honestly getting worried just now :( it is hot today, 23c so it could be that but during the day I noticed I was hot on my chest and my back. I took my temp it was 37.1c. I went out in the shade for a bit then took my temp again and was 36.6c. My temp is usually around 36-36.2c. I have been fairly active today, and I still feel like I am quite warm all over my body, despite my temp being 36.2c, both thermometers showed the same temp so not a fever. Is anyone else here feeling like they have a fever in this hot weather? My throat is very sore and my heartburn / acid reflux is back as well. I am so, so tired of this Sad

Pokemontrainer · 11/04/2020 20:22

Gosh Calyx what an ordeal hope you can rest now and so glad you are out of hospital. Onwards and upwards.

Dorual · 11/04/2020 20:41

New to this thread.

Day 11 here for me. Unconfirmed but have had, in this order:
headache, grainy sensation in throat, dry cough, tiredness, nausea, loss of appetite, uncomfortable breathing sensation / slight burn mid upper chest, like I've breathed in powder, clammy hands and feet, low grade fever of between 37.4 and 37.8 for 11 days, night sweats. I feel hungover in the mornings, breathless in the early evenings, but feel better late at night.

I have also experienced muscle twitches and jerks, uncontrollable and at rest... like the ones you get when you are falling asleep, but in arms and neck too.

I am having shooting nerve-like pains under left shoulder blade now. Urgh. I'm so sick of this now.
