@Lightsabre no I'm on my own with them they are only 2 and 6. I'm so worried incase I have to go into hospital who will look after them?? It's all so scary ☹️

TheDrsWife46 · 10/04/2020 19:16

@Mammaaof is there anywhere else you could isolate to like a relatives spare room? Its not ideal but its better than being alone with small children ☹️☹️☹️

Mammaaof · 10/04/2020 19:20

The only place I could go is my mums but she's got asthma and is now staying in for 12 weeks as she had letter off government this is my worse nightmare ☹️

Lightsabre · 10/04/2020 19:29

@Mammaaof , could the children go to their father's place? You may not have it so try to stay calm and take some paracetamol to get your temperature down - many, many people have mild viruses.

Mammaaof · 10/04/2020 19:40

Yes they could go there is that allowed now that I have symptoms? Their fathers mum has tested positive for it and now his gran has tested positive today, only had tests due to NHS nurse and his gran was extremely unwell before all this. I was the one who took him mum to the drs before lockdown and the diagnosed her with "chest infection" we now know it was covid back then as she hasn't got better in 3 weeks X

stayathomegardener · 10/04/2020 19:49

@Calyx72 so glad they have taken you in and a single room is fantastic, you might be able to get some sleep.

@Taffyapple8 I'm sorry things are so tough Is your partner being more supportive now?
I didn't get the headache/neck and back ache till later on, can't quite remember when...after day 10 and probably only for about 4 days. Nothing like that again until a single weird day of headache/sinus pain after day 20
@scubadive I only have mild asthma linked to chest infections or cats but despite pretty bad breathlessness, lung burning etc it has not made me wheezy or in need of my inhaler so I think everyone is different.

@Mammaaof that sounds like an impossible situation. ❤️ hopefully you will have it mildly.

Taffyapple8 · 10/04/2020 19:55

He is being better thankfully. I'm having such a nauseous day with lots of retching. Did you experience this at this stage? I'm scared I'm taking a turn for the worse x

Keep thinking positive Hun. It's so scary. Day 5 today and coughing hurts . Still have chest pain and has anyone experience a fire ball feeling in there chest?

Tajiri · 10/04/2020 20:14

Does anyone else find that the symptoms are worse in the evening? I've mostly been ok today, but now my chest is really tight and my temperature is fluctuating again? It's been the same every evening so far.

TheDrsWife46 · 10/04/2020 20:59

@Tajiri I think the majority of people on here have all said that they start to get hot/shaky/fast heart rate in the evenings. Just remember that sleep is important for recovery, but dont torture yourself lying there focusing on the feelings. Get up if you need to x

AutumnNymph · 10/04/2020 20:59

@Tajiri defiantly finding the symptoms worse at night

AutumnNymph · 10/04/2020 21:01

Definitely* though it does feel like my chest is defying me 😂 The weight on the chest definitely feels worse today and I can’t seem to find a position to relax.

Lightsabre · 10/04/2020 21:17

@Taffyapple8, I've been nauseous throughout, particularly yesterday and this morning but haven't been sick. Some other people have been though. I can stave it off by eating small amounts like a piece of toast or something a little bit salty.

Porcupineinwaiting · 10/04/2020 21:20

@AutumnNymph have you tried lying on your front? I tried it when my breathing was at it's absolute worst (elephant on chest days) and it was surprisingly helpful. Would never have occurred to me - during previous things like bronchitis I always sit/sleep propped up.

AndddddHerewegoagain · 10/04/2020 21:23

Hi everyone. Been following these threads incase i came down with symptoms.

The last couple of days ive had a sore throat, this evening my chest has started to feel tight and I've developed a cough. Is this the start? Im 34 weeks pregnant 😭😭
Have been at home since lockdown except for antenatal appointments which was unhelpfully in the same building as the hospitals coronavirus pod 🤦‍♀️

Pokemontrainer · 10/04/2020 21:34

Hi everyone, I hope those of you with Coronavirus are resting and doing as well as you can.

I am much better.

I did try add my comments on thread 5 for quite a few days before I realised it had already filled up.

I no longer have a temperature or sore throat and managed a walk outside.

My family seem to not have symptoms yet.

I know they can't go outside until day 15.

If my children go crazy can I take them out of no one else is about .. I don't think I would but I find the regulations about isolation quite challenging to fully understand. They are allowed out for exercise or are they not?

They have not gone out since I got symptoms.

Take care all.

Take it easy if you are just coming down with this.

Stay hydrated and do not try do much for a while, easier said than done.

Porcupineinwaiting · 10/04/2020 21:40

@Mammaaof please try not to worry. Their are care facilities available for the children of coronavirus patients if there us no one at home to take care of them. One of the posters on here has had her children in one because she and her dh were so sick, I think they came home today.

AutumnNymph · 10/04/2020 21:44

@Porcupineinwaiting — ooh thanks for the tip - that does a bit more comfortable. Today is definitely an elephant on the chest day - being shall we say “big of the boob” sleeping on my front has never been too comfy but I have propped up my head with pillows to level out the height difference and can feel an ease in the weight. Thanks !

Porcupineinwaiting · 10/04/2020 21:45

@Pokemontrainer - the children need to stay in for 14 days after the last person in the household to get sick first showed symptoms. My poor kids will have been in for a month as first I got sick, then w weeks later dh.But they both seem to be displaying v mild symptoms now so prob just as well.

AutumnNymph · 10/04/2020 22:02

@TaffyApple8 hang in there and hope you feel better soon. I have been retching since day 3 as well - the retching is down today but the nausea still lingers.

Porcupineinwaiting · 10/04/2020 22:14

@AndddddHerewegoagain maybe? Hopefully not. Suggest you speak to your gp or midwife in the morning, they'll probably want to keep a close eye on you.

AndddddHerewegoagain · 10/04/2020 22:23

Thanks @porcupine I'll see how it develops over the next 2 days.

Been ridiculously hot the last 2 days at bedtime as well and im a naturally cold person.

MyBeloved · 10/04/2020 22:43

Joining this thread, with thanks to the OP.

Day 5: shortness of breath still present; pain in sternum and upper back; feel like there are small stones at the bottom of lungs, but chest tightness easing; fatigue still there; hoarseness not as bad; cough all but gone.

Been doing breathing exercises and meditation which is helping, along with taking paracetamol.

Has anyone used co-codamol?

I'm isolated in bedroom (away from family as I almost certainly have COVID - awaiting NHS worker test results) but DS2 (9) who has asthma is now coughing. He shares a room with DS1. Should I bring him into my isolation zone? Trying to protect DP (who has also has asthma). Feels like a futile exercise as he's been looking after DC for 2 days and was exposed to me albeit from an attempted distance before I isolated. I still feel feverish (temp only 37 underarm) but not coughing yet (think I'm Day 3ish).

sierradelta · 10/04/2020 23:09

@scubadive I started with a bad sore throat along with a horrible metallic taste in my mouth. I was also anxious it would go to the chest at the end of the first week, but in fact it didn’t. I didn’t have much of a cough and no fever, although I often felt flushed and cold at the same time. Before the sore throat subsided, my upper chest felt hot and a bit raw around day 7/8 but fortunately no infection developed. After that I just felt spaced out, with tiredness, dizziness and a few headaches for a week or so. I’m now on day 28, so well past the worst of it and not sure what I had. The sore throat still comes back when I feel low or tired, as does the unpleasant taste. Honestly, don’t take any chances with your health, in more normal times I would have definitely got a bit more help from the doctor with this, although I struggled on, probably because it was not typically Covid.
