I'm on day 23 according to GP.
Taking my third lot of antibiotics and steriods.
I am a servere asthmatic, so this has been playing havoc.
I have never felt so weak.

I'm thinking of you all.

Calyx72 · 10/04/2020 15:50

@taffyapple8 yes usually 38.5 or 6
I have an ear thermometer so higher readings generally
It did go to 39 twice
When I came in this morning to hospital it was 38.8 when I arrived
During the nurses taking blood (so much blood!) I nearly fainted, nearly threw up, had to stop them, they said I was grey and I was clammy and since then it's dropped Grin

@MillStone thank you for sharing the breathing link and advice.

@Calyx72 sorry to hear you’ve been admitted, at least you are being monitored now.

@Taffyapple8 I’m so sorry you have been so poorly, I also read on the last thread your partner isn’t being supportive which can only be adding to your stress. I would persist with your doctor. I had pneumonia and didn’t realise it as I wasn’t coughing hugely and have had many chest infections. I then started throwing up and couldn’t even hold down liquids so I became very dehydrated. Eventually and reluctant a new GP came out and diagnosed food poisoning, said
I was very hot but had forgotten her thermometer, told me to sip lemonade! The next day I was worse, another GP came out, my temperature was 39, my oxygen levels were down and ge called an ambulance, my temperature was 40 by the time the ambulance arrived. I needed a hydrating drip for 72 hours once in his pitches and was kept in for a week. The consultant said vomiting was very common with pneumonia, obviously not with regular pneumonia that GP’s mostly see but with the cases that require hospital treatment. If I had taken the first GP’s advice, I might nit still be here so if you feel really bad and continue to be sick then I would request another GP or just call an ambulance yourself. Monitor your temperature and drink lots of liquid, can you order an oximeter. I bought one from Argos for £20, ,it came the next day.

@Calyx72 sorry to hear you’re so poorly, wish you better. Flowers hope they’re caring for you x

It seems they’re reasonably caring better for COVID patients in Scotland and possibly other parts of the UK. I’m very near London and our hospital is under pressure. They’ve got a very strict admission criteria. I was discharged from A&E, having needed hours of oxygen, sats of 90%, pneumonia on xray and fever of 39. They’ve closed the paediatric A&E to make way for adult patients. I’m glad I was at home as I’ve already been in hosp recently but I was so ill and it was scary, fortunately I was looked after. I wouldn’t have managed if I lived alone.

SugarSugarShimmy · 10/04/2020 16:05

@Goatymcgoaty if you had a temperature on Monday you shouldn’t be going to the shops now. You need to self isolate

Taffyapple8 · 10/04/2020 16:07

Thank you. My new thermometer has arrived and despite how I feel, my temp is 36.6. My GP prescribed me doxycycline this morning in case there's a secondary infection and told me to take 2. I've not eaten much in so long so I'm wondering if that's causing the nausea? I don't feel great ill be honest

Taffyapple that's what I'm on. I'm on my second lot.
Make sure you take them with plenty of water to get them down. I find I need to eat something with them otherwise I get really bad indigestion.

Rosesofeyam · 10/04/2020 16:16

I'm living of of chicken soup. Smile

Rosesofeyam · 10/04/2020 16:17

Off ffs

Calyx72 · 10/04/2020 16:22

@jackjackincredible omg you poor thing
Sounds like you should have stayed on O2
I thought under 94% sats you were to stay on (but I don't know)
I definitely think it's not as bad away from London or at least in smaller places
Hope you all feel better soon
I feel like a fraud but am so grateful to be getting checked as I said

KatySun · 10/04/2020 16:30

Calyx72 I hope you recover soon. Can I ask how you were able to be tested? I thought in Scotland they only tested if you were hospitalised, but it sounds like you were tested before you were admitted, and then advised on the basis of that.

Also in Scotland, on day 20 here, have spoken to 111 and GP and neither has suggested testing.

Calyx72 · 10/04/2020 16:59

@KatySun I was tested because I am NHS staff; I didn't meet the criteria for testing the first week but because my team lead put a second form in my second week of symptoms and they had received more tests for staff, they agreed to test me.

Taffyapple8 · 10/04/2020 17:04

Is anyone still experiencing headaches/neck aches as late on as day 1? I'm really starting to doubt that I've got better in any sense at all in the past 12 days

OP posts:
Taffyapple8 · 10/04/2020 17:04

Day 12 that should be!

OP posts:
KatySun · 10/04/2020 17:11

Thanks Calyx72 I wondered that. You do a wonderful job and I hope you recover soon Flowers

KatySun · 10/04/2020 17:12

I had a headache this morning - day 20. In fact everything felt worse but I slept over an hour this afternoon which has helped.

Taffyapple8 · 10/04/2020 17:15

This is so miserable. I feel really really low

OP posts:
WorriesomeDad · 10/04/2020 17:23

Hang in there @Taffyapple8 it will pass. Do you have difficulty breathing?

Taffyapple8 · 10/04/2020 17:41

No, I'm breathing OK thanks. My neck is so sore and the pain is radiating up and making me feel ill

OP posts:
Rosesofeyam · 10/04/2020 17:57

Hope you are feeling better soon taffyapple.
Yes, I'm still getting headaches and sinus pain.
Fed up with it .

Taffyapple8 · 10/04/2020 18:08

I just feel like I'm stuck in a loop. Every day I get the same headache at the same time and it takes hours to calm, even with paracetamol. I'm scared there is something more going on with me but I'm unable to access anywhere to find out. I'm so frightened

OP posts:
Lightsabre · 10/04/2020 18:15

Have you spoken to 111 @Taffyapple8? I wonder if you're dehydrated? Easy to be if you're not eating a lot. Do you have any rehydration sachets?

AutumnNymph · 10/04/2020 18:15

Thanks for the new thread @taffyapple8. I am on day 6 or 7 am and today is the worst I have felt - the GP started me on steroids and doxycline on Tuesday . While my breathing is kinda okay the headache, tiredness and nausea are awful. I have spent the whole day in bed but still feel like I have run miles.

Also have started feeling a heaviness in my chest in the past hour like something is stuck there .

Had a call from the GP morning to check and based on symptoms she reckons corona,

Mammaaof · 10/04/2020 18:45

Hi everyone I posted here yesterday or day before saying I was worried. Today I've developed a cough but it's not persistent, and my temp is constantly above 38.4 I'm so worried I've got 2 children here, I am absolutely petrified xx

Lightsabre · 10/04/2020 18:51

Try not to panic @Mammaaof. Do you have a partner at home as you're now meant to self isolate from the rest of the family?

Hopefully, if you have it, it will be mild. Gather any paracetamol so they're handy, drink lots of water and try to eat little and often to keep your blood sugar levels up. An oximeter is a useful bit of kit for measuring your oxygen and pulse. You can buy them on eBay for about £20.
