I rang my doctor and they won’t give me anything as I don’t sound out of breath 😑

Lindy2 · 28/04/2020 14:39

My test has just come back as negative. Phew.

I'm not sure though if it is negative because I've never had it or negative because I've had symptoms for quite a few weeks and I've past the time to get a positive result. I guess without an antibody test I can't know.

I am relieved it's negative though but unsure as to why i have had 6+ weeks of various symptoms that are still going on now. I've never had a cold or virus go on and on like this before.

Kitcat122 · 28/04/2020 15:40

Matthew Hancock said if you have had symptoms for 3 weeks or more don't go for a test as it will be too late. So that's probably why it's negative. I think we are post viral. Xx

SophieB100 · 28/04/2020 15:50

Remember that Boris with in ITU Monday night until Friday morning. He tested negative before he was released from hospital the Sunday of the same week.

RickyBooth · 28/04/2020 16:32

Yes after a time seems that the test will be negative so they really need make a test that shows if you have had it

Annie20061 · 28/04/2020 16:42

Oh no so the test i had yesterday at day 21 could be negative then. I will let you know when it comes through. Having a really good day today hardly any breathing issues & feeling well. Just headache & sore throat - hope this continues into a good night as well.

HollysBush · 28/04/2020 19:38

I’ve had a positive test result on Monday. Felt a bit hot last week, slight sore throat and tired (but work long hours so not unusual!)
Since Friday been having chills( chattering teeth and whole body shakes) and fever and the chest tight bra feeling. Spent most of the time in bed. Mon night I had no fever/chills, which was a relief and slept quite well but today I’m even more exhausted.
Forced myself to go downstairs earlier for ‘exercise’ and watched tv for 45 mins but then had to crawl back up stairs to bed. Thought I was going to feint.

RickyBooth · 28/04/2020 20:54

@HollysBush Yep thats how it started for most of us chills fever and well just feeling yuck and slowly builds in some to sore lungs and breathlessness lump in throat dizzy well there is a long list of symptoms. Fingers crossed you get it mild but I know its hard but try not to get anxious about it

jinglybell · 28/04/2020 22:38

Has anyone been wheezy? It's driving me mad.

Sunday night I was freezing cold, was OK Monday morning, went to work, came home and about 2 hours later started with slight sob, wheezing and cough.
Temp was 37. 1 not actually a fever but higher than normal for me.

Wheezy all night, kept sighing on and off, chest a bit tight on and off. Woke up late today and felt the same all day.

Now I have an intermittent sharp pain just to left of centre of my chest. Who knows but the wheezing is horrible. Will be tested tomorrow which I'm nervous about so we will see.

RickyBooth · 28/04/2020 23:25

Yes I very much so had it along with a lung gurgle it was so annoying along with the pain.

jinglybell · 29/04/2020 13:05

@RickyBooth I know what you mean about the lung gurgle, mine sounds like that horrible noise when you try a d suck up the last of a milkshake through a straw 😳

Lightsabre · 29/04/2020 13:06

@jinglybell, have you had antibiotics?

Lightsabre · 29/04/2020 13:07

@HollysBush, how are you today?

jinglybell · 29/04/2020 13:08

@Lightsabre - no, haven't spoken to Gp only 111

RickyBooth · 29/04/2020 13:09

@Lightsabre No not as yet doctor said it should clear up on its own as pain in chest has subsided he feels I should be ok without them but my throat still feels restricted.

@jinglybell Its so annoying ain't it my gurgle seems to come and go now.

Lightsabre · 29/04/2020 13:12

I didn't have the lung gurgling but to err on the side of caution, my GP prescribed amoxicillin in case of secondary infection. It's worth discussing with your GP I think.

HollysBush · 29/04/2020 13:14

Thankyou, Feel like I’ve been hit by a bus. Tongue feels like a 1990s pub carpet. Someone suggested I have a 2 hour nap in the afternoon but my whole day is a nap. Worried how long it’s going to take me to get back to work (I know I’m being silly).

RickyBooth · 29/04/2020 14:37

@HollysBush yep its nasty to say the least its been over 3 weeks for me and iv still got effects from it its very slow for some if you have got it well its gonna be at least 2 weeks before you can return to work im afraid and its not silly

RickyBooth · 29/04/2020 14:38

@Lightsabre I will watch it for a few more days see if it clears again if not il for sure phone the doctor

jinglybell · 29/04/2020 15:37

@Lightsabre thanks for the advice, just spoke to my Gp and he has prescribed amoxicillin

@RickyBooth mine comes and goes too

On the plus side, I've given up smoking! The sob scared me so I thought fuck it, I don't need to smoke. Finished the pack I had and that's that

IamEarthymama · 29/04/2020 15:45

Thank goodness for this thread, I keep coming on and thinking "oh it's not just me!"
I had a terrible day yesterday and last night. Breathless, chest pain, coughing bouts that make me sick, lots of trembling and shaking, just want to sleep

Pharmacy just delivered the inhalers and spacers I was prescribed last week so I live in hope.

I have been very quiet socially because I cough mightily if I get excited or laugh

So lots of apologies to give out to friends.
My daughter is busier than ever so I haven't let on to her how poorly I have been as there is nothing she can do.

Apparently over 65s can have a test so I will
Look into that
Hope everyone is feeling better.

RickyBooth · 29/04/2020 16:35

@jinglybell yep me to I smoked a vape and well now it just sits in the drawer one good thing to come out of this bloody virus

@IamEarthymama I still get good days and bad days for sure just when you think its gone it comes back.

Annie20061 · 29/04/2020 17:56

@jinglybell feeling the same today as well after a not so good night again. Short of breath & weird pains in my back & under my ribs. Tight chest on & off. Not looking forward to going to bed tonight. I do like knowing that I’m not the only one that has had this virus for quite a while now

Annie20061 · 29/04/2020 18:02

@SheilaTakeABow how are you feeling today?

SheilaTakeABow · 29/04/2020 19:18

I feel a bit of a fraud @Annie20061, as I'm much better today. Still a bit wheezy and waking breathless in the night, but much quicker to come back under control. I've got much more energy and have done for the past two-and-a-half days. I'm just keeping my fingers crossed now!
Sorry to hear so many people are still having significant symptoms, this virus is just so weird
