Wow this new thread has moved really quickly .. I never thought I’d be so glad to be in a group I never wanted to be in Grin If that made sense ! I can’t believe it’s 28 days tomorrow since my first symptom.. sad that we need a thread because we’ve all been ill do long but I’m so glad you are all here .
I had a rotten day yesterday then felt ok when Zi woke this morning so got my garden chairs out of the shed .. an achievement I guess as I’ve been too poorly to go outside but I felt terrible afterwards. As though I’d been punched in the chest and very breathless so rested for the rest of the day . I did however get a friend to get me some vitamin c tablets so I started these today . Lots of tears down the phone to my best friend this evening. I beer between feeling confident I’m going to get better and total despair that I’m going to get worse . DD asked me today if I was going to be better by her birthday next week

Spacecadetagain · 09/04/2020 23:59

I just saw the posts about MN being in financial trouble .. Shock I certainly can’t pay to stay on here as my own business has collapsed overnight .. Id be happy to do a secret fb group it what’s app group

pinkoneblueone · 10/04/2020 00:43

DH’s sats are 94-96 atm we have called as I am worried he’s literally just sat on the sofa the edges of his lips seem tinged a little. We have called 111 but they said they would have someone call but they didn’t know when. His chest pain has not eased at all in the 31 days I’m not sure if it’d related. He says he feels fine. I am worried.

pinkoneblueone · 10/04/2020 01:00

Ok so it’s increased slightly, we have two as a friend lent us one until ours arrived and they are quite different. I am not sure what to think

pinkoneblueone what a worry. Keep a good eye on him and wait it out but if those sats drop or he really can’t breathe don’t be scared to call an ambulance. Or phone 111 back and say he’s deteriorated. Keep us posted. Flowers

Coleoptera age wise I’m not much behind you! I’d blame the fact it’s taking so long on that, except others much younger are finding it an equal or worse struggle. I could have written your post word for word, the general aches, the total and utter exhaustion. I’m self employed too and working has been just too much. Somebody on here put me in the direction of claiming ESA. It isn’t much, but better than no money at all. I was panicking about having to start a bit of work next after all these weeks off, but I’m going to take time to properly recover. I’ll stop the claim as soon as I’m up to working again - hope there’s some business to go back to. If you’re not working, look into it. They seem to be fast tracking people with corona symptoms under an emergency system. You really do need to rest to get over this.

Can’t afford to fund MN at the moment as DH is also being made redundant, so I can’t spend money I don’t absolutely have to. I’d do WhatsApp or Facebook but I guess the strength of on here is new people can find us.

musicposy · 10/04/2020 01:24

pinkoneblueone mine’s like the red one but I’ve never thought to check it with anything else. I think they say accurate to 1% so there may be a variation on any I guess. I get slightly different on different fingers and often get 97 on one hand and 99 on the other. I tend to take it as a general guide. But even the lowest of those looks ok right now. How is he in himself?

pinkoneblueone · 10/04/2020 01:41

He says he feels fine, he seems it apart from the tinge in his lips. We are waiting on a call back atm.

I am not sure about the subscription tbh it’s more that I can’t justify it as I am furloughed from my full time job as well as having a business premises that I only took over in January that I have to pay fully for out of our own pockets as I am not entitled to any government grants as I work full time. Bad timing. I love my studio though I am so proud of it just gutted about the timing as I haven’t even got my sign up yet.

musicposy · 10/04/2020 01:59

This has been so hard on so many people. The trouble I’m finding is that insurances and loans for expensive equipment still have to be paid, despite no income. Have tried speaking to firms but you can’t get through or to the bank either. Never thought the loans would be an issue as DH had a job which we thought was secure and my business income, though not large, has been stable for years.

Let’s hope you can get back to your lovely studio sooner rather than later and make use of it. We desperately need the economy to recover after this.

Im trying to think I can’t change it right now so no point staying awake worrying. It’s possibly not working!

Hope your DH stays fine and even gets some sleep later Flowers

pinkoneblueone · 10/04/2020 02:35

Thank you, I hope so. Each time we have had the call back they have hung up as we answered each time with only one voicemail left for 3 calls missed.
I hope that they actually do call back soon.

pinkoneblueone · 10/04/2020 04:48

My body keeps waking me up my chest is very tight and ‘wheezy’ feeling. I am sat up right trying to sleep we are still waiting on a call back. I think it’s panic keeping me up
Though I can’t be too sure. My heart is racing so it’s often an indicator and as my chest is tight I think it must beware seem
To be ok. I need to have a word with myself. Hubby is sound asleep next to me but I can’t seem allow myself to sleep as something is happening to my body when I drop off to keep me awake. I must be changing how I am breathing. I feel pathetic. I need to sleep. Day 32. Please tell me how you are all feeling?

Tangledyarn · 10/04/2020 06:10

@pinkoneblueone Aww sorry you are having such a bad night. It's so hard..just keep reminding yourself that your sats are really good, you just dont feel good. Anxiety is so difficult to cope with when we are already feeling poorly. Is there anything you can listen to try and distract yourself a bit, I've always got a podcast or the radio on when I cant sleep and just try and focus on that rather than my body or mind xx

Casino218 · 10/04/2020 08:05

If anyone else would like to join a back up What's app just pm me your number. Just me and @Stayathomegardener so far 😁

longshot · 10/04/2020 08:06

@Coleoptera I could have written yourpost from yesterday evening. My experience is almost identical now.

Day 31 here. Just woken and I have the classic groggy headache (I had one day in 31 without that...) but my chest (lying in bed!) feels ok. I woke in the night with the loud heartbeat thing, getting that a lot. It can be a sign for me that my iron is low, and the GP mentioned that iron can become more low with a virus so thought I would pass that on.

Will see what today brings...I would imagine it will be more rest!

longshot · 10/04/2020 08:08

@Tangledyarn thanks for that link I’ll have a listen. My GP friend and my actual GP both said ‘several weeks until you can resume normal exercise levels’. Now for me this means a 10k run a few times a week so I can believe that but I was rather hoping to be up for a walk over Easter weekend but now I’m thinking maybe I shouldn’t!! I’ll see.

isitorisntit · 10/04/2020 08:18

@longshot How's your chest feeling? Mine feels bruised and like I've been through a mangle, like before I had the amoxycillin. Started again yesterday. Before that, I had a few days of improvement, (albeit tight chest). 4 weeks today since first symptom.

Tangledyarn · 10/04/2020 08:24

@longshot Aww yeah really hard if you are used to being really fit, I think building up really slowly, so pottering around house (and garden) if you have one, slow walk around the block etc. Dont push it..I'm sure you'll get there, I think it just takes a long time for body to recover and any inflammation in lungs to settle xxx

Tangledyarn · 10/04/2020 08:26

@longshot Yeah I'm prone to anaemia so got some ferrous sulphate and am just treating myself as if I am now as the heart racing/palpitations, shortness of breath and feeling faint could all be being made worse by that.

musicposy · 10/04/2020 08:28

Hi pinkoneblueone really hope you finally got some rest. Did you get the call back?

Morning everyone else! I always feel crap first thing recently so will reserve how I feel until later. Definitely have thrush coming on which is fairly usual for me after a week of strong antibiotics but adds to the annoyance. Also getting the same hideous heartbeat as you longshot but I’m on permanent multivits with iron due to coeliac - maybe the iron needs a top up. I doubt a blood test is going to happen any time soon!
tangled yarn I’ll have a listen to the link, thanks.

Standrewsschool · 10/04/2020 08:31

Day 27 - bit nervous today as I have my last dose of antibiotics. Had them for two weeks. Cough has 95% gone, but nervous in case it gets worse again during the weekend. Don’t know whether I’m being a hypochondriac, but my chest as if it could be more wheezy today. Hopefully it’s me being pysosomatic.

TheWooisStrong · 10/04/2020 08:31

I’ve been taking Spatone for a while. I read some information on reddit saying that covid is also a blood illness, and affects how effectively the blood carries oxygen - causing symptoms more like altitude sickness than pneumonia. So at that point 2 weeks ago I started on iron rich foods and Spatone. (Had my first portion of beef in 6 months as I normally don’t eat red meat.)

While I’m not sure how accurate the information I have is, I do feel iron supplements have really helped me, and Spatone is risk free too.

TheWooisStrong · 10/04/2020 08:36

Cough still there. Back aches still there. Slight breathlessness on exertion still there.
I think the virus has probably been cleared from our bodies and what we are dealing with is the long term impact and damage.

I plan a weekend in the garden and not a lot else.

EMichel102 · 10/04/2020 08:36

@tootsey @Tangledyarn I have the horrible internal tremors in my body too and they’re particularly bad at night, preventing me from sleeping well. Also I feel very hot in the night although no actual temperature. The body twitches also are there. I really hope they stop soon but they don’t seem to be!

Day 25 today - took an antihistamine before bed so had a few hours of being passed out before I woke on and off from 3 am. Let’s see what today brings!

user34254356 · 10/04/2020 08:40

Good morning all.

Hopefully everyone is feeling better this morning and had a good sleep. I slept well but I alternate between a poor night and a good night. So not reading too much into it!

I have a call with the GP today but it's randomly assigned. I hope I get the same doctor that I spoke to on Wednesday but was told that they can't guarantee it.

Meercatmama · 10/04/2020 08:47

Good morning all Day 26 here
Headaches are the symptom I have had this week but at least my appetite has started to return. I am also getting very tired quickly. Still got three days of antibiotics to finish and then will see if my cough and chest pains return. So sorry to hear how some of you are still suffering
