@EMichel102 I hope so. Thank goodness for this thread so we can all talk and share our experiences together. It's so lovely to see! I'm avoiding the media (well trying to)! Always full of sad, upsetting stories about people dying of covid. My heart honestly goes out to the victims and their poor families :( but we really need some positive stories now so we know what signs and symptoms to look out for too.

stayathomegardener · 09/04/2020 20:28

@tangledyarn I can so emphasise with your post regarding what you have given up to ME already. How long have you had it and what was the trigger?
I had it from when my dd was three and then she developed it at 15. Dr Myhill fixed her and I got back to around 90% well after years of being bed bound.

Is anyone else super paranoid that Mumsnet are going to fold and all this support might disappear overnight?

£350,000 monthly wages, loans and asking for contributions to keep going doesn't sound good.
Stranger things have happened in the last few weeks...
I was tempted to put my mobile number up so we could have a way of keeping in touch in such a situation.

Does that sound insane?
I'm beyond caring about anonymity.

@stayathomegardener
A secret Facebook group sounds like a better idea. If someone else sets it up I’ll join...

I’m lucky in that I’ve a sister who works for 111. If ever I get worried I run my symptoms past her and she generally tells me to give me head a wobble and that I’m fine. She was reassuringly unsympathetic when I was day 7/8 and panicking.

longshot · 09/04/2020 20:39

Hi all, nice to hear updates from lots of you again e.g. @Littleninja1 @Joeaj23 and @TheWooisStrong.

@Tangledyarn i am really sorry you are still feeling so rotten. I know it's probably no consolation but I still have struggled to be up much at all today and I have no pre-existing conditions (well one minor one) and I am really rather fit and healthy so I guess if it's doing this to me it's a bastard of a virus and I think you are coping very well indeed considering what you already have going on.

I feel marginally better tonight after an awful 48 hours. I think I have had a bad relapse...over the last 2 days I have really been as bad as I was on day 15-17 which was bad (in bed mostly feeling dreadful) but from about 4pm I have felt a little better and been up and ate with the family etc. I have literally done absolutely nothing between 8am-4pm except lie in the garden a bit. Resting really helps. I am wondering if (fingers crossed) the antibiotics may be helping too. I am still getting stabbing pains (pleurisy or pericarditis??) but the rib ache and back ache has eased off, especially the back ache. I REALLY hope i had a secondary infection (weird to say I know). To be honest I have never had a chest infection so when people have mentioned these conditions I have been unsure if i have symptoms. Eg Bronchitis, never had it so not sure if perhaps I have that or pleurisy etc. I just know my chest has felt like it's been in a vice for days and tonight it's a little better.

Sending good wishes to all and hoping for a decent night of sleep tonight!

longshot · 09/04/2020 20:42

@stayathomegardener had no idea about the mumsnet financial issue!! That's because all I look at is this specific thread and my personal email and avoid all other media!

But yes to private FB group if you think that would work. Would hate to suddenly lose all contact!

Tangledyarn · 09/04/2020 20:51

@longshot That's reassuring but am also really sorry you are struggling too. The ups and downs with this are bonkers. I hope tommorow is a better day.
@stayathomegardener Thanks. Glandular fever at 15 (am 39 now) although had about 5 better years in the middle until a flare in my mid 20s since then things have been difficult but been particularly bad the last 5 years as I developed daily chronic migraine after a vestibular illness and a minor head injury so it's all got messy!! I think it's all stopped me from trusting my body, but I know logically it's likely I can recover from this. Thanks guys xx

Casino218 · 09/04/2020 20:52

Can we just private message mobiles then maybe can start a WhatsApp

stayathomegardener · 09/04/2020 21:28

WhatsApp suits me better really, we could start with that and progress to Facebook thing if that's better?
Anyone fancy setting something up?
Hopefully I'm panicking unnecessarily.

@longshot i can't get my head round that monthly wage bill, Justine is asking asking everyone for a £50 yearly payment for a premium service, less ads, ability to edit etc. Hoping for I think 10% take up.

I don't want to see it fold but equally our business has crashed too so just couldn't justify any financial outlay right now.

In fact I think that's not helped my physical state as instead of resting I keep having to fight financial fires.

LetsBeSensible · 09/04/2020 21:57

Ok I get the panic around mumsnet disappearing but surely we could bugger off to some other forum? A little known/used one we could sign up to with the same user names!?

kevintheorangecarrot · 09/04/2020 22:01

I think posting on here will help other people (maybe those who don't have a MN account/perhaps Googled and this thread come up first). I do not have FB either so that's out of the Q for me x

Tangledyarn · 09/04/2020 22:03

Do we think it is going to fold? I've totally missed that news!
Does anyone else wonder whether there is something about the virus that really effects your mental state..I mean other than the horrible experience of being really ill and in the middle of a pandemic? I just cant help feeling that I've felt mentally very strange in a way I've never felt before (and have lots of experience of anxiety and depression and work in mental health) am just wondering if there are some temporary neurological effects of the virus.

TheWooisStrong · 09/04/2020 22:06

@Tangledyarn
I agree - very weird anxiety and stress issues. Never felt like this before. But then I’ve never lived through a pandemic before so maybe some of it could be down to that.

I’ve had a whiskey to help me relax and dull the tickly cough that is the tail end of the bronchitis. I’m hoping for a really good nights sleep and waking up feeling great tomorrow. Night all.

isitorisntit · 09/04/2020 22:12

Breast bone pain all day, like before I had the antibiotics 2 weeks ago. Chest tight and coughing more. Worst I've felt in a week. Why, why, why? Day 27.

Yes, @Tangledyarn I’ve been wondering that too. So hard to work out between feeling awful, fear of the unknown, and all the media stuff whether there’s something more to it. All I know is that I have been beside myself with anxiety and a racing heart some days. And now I’ve got twitchy leg muscles. Maybe worth logging these strange other symptoms on the covid-19 tracker app.

OneDayAtATime123 · 09/04/2020 22:29

@longshot
Day 22: Yesterday I tried doing 20 squats and had my pulse reach 122. Had to lie down to get it back below 85. Stats SPO2 was ok @ 98.
I also feel like I have to try a bit harder to get.a full breath all the way to the top. Do you all feel that too ?

tootsey · 09/04/2020 22:33

In these late days, is anyone having or still having tremors, shaking inside. I have these really badly for the last 5 days or so, on day 26 here. They started just with chest area and now my legs have gone as well.

isitorisntit · 09/04/2020 22:34

Ooops, I just posted before I realised it was an invite! Soz.

tootsey · 09/04/2020 22:34

Oh, and is any of you here in NI. Just wondering Smile

hollieberrie · 09/04/2020 22:37

Hello everyone
So sorry to see that so many long timers are still suffering.

Day 28 for me. Days 21-27 have been horrid. Just today im starting to feel better again (back to how i felt pre-day 21). Worst symptoms have been breathlessness, cough, heartburn and that feeling of burning up / chills, even though my temp was actually ok.

Are you all signed off work? I've had 9 days off now so really need to look into what i need to do in terms of paper work, GP note etc. I am not optimistic that i'll be back working on Tues but we shall see.

Sending well wishes to all

Tangledyarn · 09/04/2020 22:41

@tootsey Yes! Still got the horrible internal shakiness!

There was a gp on Jeremy vine on radio 2 at lunchtime today (not a fan but my friend told me to listen) She was saying it would be totally normal for breathlessness and fatigue to last a good few weeks at least after recovery. About 1pm if anyone wants to listen back.

It's a thread for anyone who needs it @isitorisntit you are welcome to post here.

tootsey · 09/04/2020 23:20

Tangledyarn, thankyou for your reply. The continued shakes and tremors have really scared me. All my other symptoms are easing gradually, apart from the shakes.

I don't often post, having been reading for reassurance. Wishing you all a speedy recovery.

Tangledyarn · 09/04/2020 23:48

@hollieberrie Yeah had an isolation note from 111 then a sick note. Annoyingly I just work mornings and currently can do that from home (unless redeployed) but i cant even manage that at the moment, but am v keen, my team are really struggling so I'd really like to be helping.
