If you are worried about a blood clot and spent atleast 4 days in bed then I would call 111 as it’s one of the questions they ask

Lovelesslily · 10/04/2020 14:45

Day 21 here. Having a good day so far, but know not to trust it too much or get my hopes up!
Much less breathless today, perhaps the antibiotics are having an effect, or inflammation is just going down. Fingers crossed.

Managed to get dressed but am just sitting reading in the garden, not going to attempt anything more.

tootsey · 10/04/2020 14:50

I haven't spent a whole day in bed, so hopefully ok. I feel as if I am made of jelly.

I wonder how many of you here are blood group A? I am and it's been stated A's are more susceptible to getting this damn virus

tupperwaretowers · 10/04/2020 14:51

Checking in Day 728 28. Had a few good days now. Finished antibiotics yesterday, so see how the next few days go. Still got sore/lump feeling in throat and pain in back.

Every day is a step closer to recovery, really doesn’t feel like it at times.

EMichel102 · 10/04/2020 15:01

@tootsey I’m Type A and yes I read that research too sadly. Have your body tremors died down? Mind still seem to be going in my legs today which is new as they’re usually only at night :(

user34254356 · 10/04/2020 15:06

Not type A here and in fact the blood group that was least likely to get it. Makes me wonder therefore whether I have had something else all along but the symptoms are so similar to everyone else.

Egghead68 · 10/04/2020 15:08

Can I join even though I am only day 21? Managed 5 mins walking in my kitchen yesterday. Today I did a mile (in 30 mins) but am now flat out on the sofa. I can’t imagine ever having the energy to get off it. Still getting upper chest pain (décolleté area) and intermittent breathlessness. Am in the shielding group (developed it 11 days after going into shielding early in 11 March). Flowers to everyone on the thread. This must end one day.

Egghead68 · 10/04/2020 15:09

I am blood group A+

Egghead68 · 10/04/2020 15:12

I have been somehow working through it on and off (remotely while shielding). Very sub-par though.

fedupofbed · 10/04/2020 15:22

@Scampersaur sorry to hear about your son. I hope he improves soon.

Such a long time, it's bonkers isn't it?

I don't have blood group A, and I'm generally very fit and healthy. I do have coeliacs though, and whilst this causes no issues at all in my daily life, is an autoimmune condition. Generally though, think it's just pot luck (bad that it's going on so long but good that we're not all in hospital!).

stayathomegardener · 10/04/2020 15:41

@longshot some emerging evidence points to those with slower recovery having a higher level of antibodies. Smile

@pinkoneblueone that's encouraging for both your DH and everyone recovering.

@Egghead68 do take it easy many of us dipped between days 20-30.

I'm just doing nothing but lying in the sun this afternoon, I absolutely could get up and do something but know there will be unpleasant payback later.

I am on day 26 and getting really fed up of this Husband and I are just doing what we can to help each other when we each feel a bit better. he is now on day 11 and at least he is not as bad as the other day and I know this is not as bad as I felt about 2 weeks ago It is just I want to feel normal again and do things . I am lucky my friends and neighbours are dropping of shopping etc and we are binging on net flicks etc trying to avoid the news. Thanking you all for the support

tootsey · 10/04/2020 15:44

@EMichel102 tremors still there, chest and legs. Slept on and off last night, every time I woke I was shaking really bad. I can cope with the other symptoms, its the tremors that have scared me the most.

Porcupineinwaiting · 10/04/2020 15:47

I'm blood group A but then so is my dh and he's had the mildest case ever.

EMichel102 · 10/04/2020 15:50

@tootsey I am 100% exactly like you. Luckily @Tangledyarn helped me by saying age also gets these and has gotten them before. So although annoying and keeps you awake it seems to not be serious / anything more sinister. What day are you on now? Today on day 25 has been my worst tremors / shakiness last night and today.

Porcupineinwaiting · 10/04/2020 15:51

I do have coeliacs though, and he doesn't.

JackJackIncredible · 10/04/2020 16:06

Day 29 and sleeping lots still. Still coughing up brown phlegm and some blood and I am rattling but it’s only been 2 days on the new antibiotics so I’m hopeful it’ll improve.

pinkoneblueone · 10/04/2020 16:22

We should all be B+ in my house as both my hubby and I are B+. I think I read that at the beginning of the outbreak here and had forgotten all about it.

NotAnotherUserNumber · 10/04/2020 16:42

@longshot @Casino218 etc.

I just saw the comments about costochondritis versus pleurisy. I have had both before and to me they feel very different. For me pleurisy feels like an “icy” feeling that sort of catches on the edge of when you inhale. Costochondritis feels like a sharp more constant pain and for me was localised along my lower ribs towards the sternum.

With this illness I have had the icy pleuritic type pain and also a tight burny pain across the chest and muscular type tenderness around both sides of my rib cage but not the specific costochondritis pain.

WorriesomeDad · 10/04/2020 16:55

@stayathomegardener that’s interesting about those with a slower recovery having a higher level of antibodies. Where did you read that? We should all be bombproof in that case!

Day 23 here since first ‘proper’ symptoms. The past 4/5 days really have been up and down but overall my energy levels are better and the symptoms seem less pronounced. I really am ready for the breathlessness and tight chest to go though, this definitely gets to me the most. Angsty fizzy fast heart rate still here too for an hour or two a day but not as bad as it was. Still just trying to take one day at a time and stay positive.

Hope everyone is managing things ok and getting a bit of Vit D today if poss. Thanks to you all for being out there and posting, it really helps.

tootsey · 10/04/2020 16:59

I think I am on day 26. Interesting to read about the pleurisy. I've had the sharp cold pain when taking a breath.

I'm sick of just sitting here, while the house goes to pot. I need to give my head a wobble, should be glad I am alive.

Aisforharlot · 10/04/2020 17:05

Day 26, one week into new disappearance of taste and smell.

Do you think it’s possible we are still infectious at this stage?

I had energy yesterday so did a gentle band workout and started a walk - but my chest felt heavy and horrible by the end of the first hill. So dispiriting as I could do laps of it a week ago.
I am wiped today.
Just want to feel well again.

intheroom · 10/04/2020 17:08

Hello,

New here. I'm a mild lingering case on day 31.

Here are my symptoms in case it helps anyone. I've not had a test, but I think it's C19 as it's unlike anything I've had before.

It started with a sore throat, stomach cramps and a very slight cough.

Developed into tight chest, sore trachea behind breast bone, very upset stomach and more (but not severe) coughing.

The tight chest eased in the second week but I'm left with a persistent slight cough, a horrid feeling of sore trachea between the lungs, sore throat and what feels like swollen tonsils. At one point I lost sense of taste, but that came back very quickly. I've also had an elevated temp since about day 10ish from 37.0-37.7.

I've been on amoxicillin for three days for possible secondary infection, it might be helping, but I'm not sure.

I have two children who have had mild symptoms, but also have persistent slightly high temps. They are a couple of weeks behind me. DH had some very mild symptoms but was fine after a couple of days.

Really sorry for those who have had it worse x

longshot · 10/04/2020 17:40

@NotAnotherUserNumber thanks for the info on pleurisy, that makes sense to me. I think this is definitely something different but maybe with pleurisy like pains.

This afternoon I am feeling so achey again and kind of wobbly. I had an hour of sleep at 3pm and have done nothing really all day except sit in the garden. Getting quite concerned I’m going to get worse over the weekend while the GP is closed but I guess if I do I need to go to hospital so there’s no point thinking about it.

I think I keep scaring myself that my body might react ‘differently’ to all the other cases out there and instead of struggling to breathe I might just drop dead but maybe this is not likely!!

What a horrible virus.

longshot · 10/04/2020 17:42

@intheroom yes that sounds very similar. I’m also on day 31. I’ve also had a lot more aches / flu / fever and then the dreaded stabbing chest pains and tightness / breathlessness, it’s a horrid illness and I hope you recover soon.
