Hi @intheroom. I am day 27 and left with sore trachea too and breathlessness but other wise feel good. Been stuck like this for a week 🙄. Hubby had symptoms first but was better after 2 weeks.

quiteathome · 10/04/2020 18:22

Hi,

I was wondering if you could help. About 15th March I had fever chills and severe vomiting and diarrhea, with a cough. It then went really suddenly after 4 days. I then had two weeks of feeling well. Everything came back this week on Monday, was vomiting temperature and diarrhoea- blood sugars must have dropped at one point as I got really shaky. Managed at home though. Cough has gone I am now tired, and slightly breathless but unsure as to whether that is anxiety.

Could it be covid? Although nobody else here is ill. Or could it be something else. I am scared of being really sick again.

And now we are on another two week isolation as counting them as separate illnesses. And I can't get a food delivery.

quiteathome · 10/04/2020 18:23

Also I hope you all recover soon. I am sorry to jump in. Must be a touch on the emotional side. I ended up exhausted after tidying up the living room

Casino218 · 10/04/2020 18:29

@quiteathome Have you experienced a tight chest or breathlessness? You may have had mild symptoms but it's hard to tell. Did you lose your sense of smell/ taste?

quiteathome · 10/04/2020 18:52

No loss of sense of smell or taste. I think I have had gastric flu twice and not Covid. The cough and temperature being red herrings.

quiteathome · 10/04/2020 18:54

Severe vomiting is not really a symptom as far as I can tell. Unless I have had something else entirely.

My friend I think has had proper Covid for a month and she now has pleurisy.

hollieberrie · 10/04/2020 19:11

hi @quiteathome i also had a long chunk of feeling well before it came back with a vengeance (not quite 2 weeks but must have been around 10 days or maybe longer - all the days have started to blur now!) I didnt vomit but other symptoms sound similar.

@Tangledyarn thanks for the sick note info. I've downloaded the 111 isolation note for 7 days (i live alone) but i will need a GP one as ive been off longer than that - i've looked on their website and it says "Unfortunately, due to the pressure GPs are currently under, the clinical team is unable to issue sick notes for patients who are self-isolating either due to illness or because of household contacts". So not quite sure they will be able to help and i hate to bug them at this stressful time.

Sorry to hear people are still feeling unwell. Day 29 for me and I feel a bit better today - just mild heartburn and cough - but v anxious that it may all come back at any moment Confused

DandyPeguin · 10/04/2020 19:16

@onlinelinda Good to know I’m not the only one with a good appetite, although unlike you I’ve had one throughout. 8 pounds loss! Is it wrong that I’m a bit envious? Blush

Thanks for answering @TheDrsWife46 but I’m after people who have still had an appetite through this - I keep reading about people like you who have lost theirs and I seem to be the exception!

hollieberrie · 10/04/2020 19:20

In good news, taste and smell are back! Not quite fully but they are there. Went away around day 21, back on day 28. So dont despair if yours have gone.

Sending get well wishes to everyone.

fedupofbed · 10/04/2020 19:20

Is anyone else on doxycycline? I've just realised you're not supposed to expose your skin to sunlight when you're on it, darn it.

hollieberrie · 10/04/2020 19:23

@DandyPeguin I've put on 2.5kg! Sorry not sure in lb as my scales only show kg. But i'm only 5ft1. I wake up starving every day around 4 / 5am and have to go and eat a bowl of cereal and then back to bed. I'm hungry ALL the time! I've been fully indulging myself as i figure my body must need it and it also helped with nausea. Are you the same? I'll scroll back to your post

stayathomegardener · 10/04/2020 19:25

@WorriesomeDad ummm I've been down several rabbit holes today but think it was on a group chat "Mitrocondriacts" talking about very early statistics.

@longshot my GP friend said surgery's are staying open on the bank holiday Friday and Monday to cope with demand and provide support.

Not sure that's everywhere but certainly the case here in Cheshire.

Might be worth checking that out to reduce any anxiety.

I've just been out for the first time, supervising DH in a click and collect Hmm and felt simply dreadful on the way there, lung pain, racing heart etc only half an hour and I didn't drive. It's not been a good day anyway.
But I felt so much better on the way home, I think there has got to be an element of anxiety there.

Not normally anxious for context.

@DandyPenguin yes 8lb lost although no doubt some of that fluid. 4lb gain since then. Just get through this, is my plan. Worry about that later.

hollieberrie · 10/04/2020 19:30

Dont know my blood group, I wonder if its A.

I havent had the BCG jab and i did read something about the BCG possibly offering some protection. Has anyone else not had it?

Egghead68 · 10/04/2020 19:37

I expect I’ve put on loads of fat through comfort eating and lack of exercise. I’ve certainly lost lots of muscle (gone from five hardcore exercise classes a week to lying on the sofa for three weeks). I haven’t lost my appetite at any point. I only lost my sense of smell and taste for around half a day early on.

stayathomegardener · 10/04/2020 19:51

I didn't have the BCG.

longshot · 10/04/2020 20:02

@stayathomegardener I can do imagine having gone out today I’ve felt so bad! But a few days ago I went out to the shop because I felt ok! Now thinking I perhaps shouldn’t have even at 27 days in!

I’m also in Cheshire, my GP is calling on Monday and also called me this morning. Not sure if the whole of the uk is the same but possibly.

longshot · 10/04/2020 20:03

I have definitely lost loads of muscle and replaced with flab but choosing not to care. Too ill to care right now.

Lovemornings59 · 10/04/2020 20:06

Hi, although I’m only 18 days in I appear to be following the same pattern as many of you.
I would also be interested to know if any of you have had the BCG as I haven’t either.

longshot · 10/04/2020 20:09

I keep meaning to ask, does anyone have acheyness / numbness in their arm? I’ve had this on and off for ages, it’s horrible. Is it just me? Only on my left side (currently!£

Copperas · 10/04/2020 20:12

Yes, and worried it was a heart attack - but it wasn't. Switched to the right arm later ...

WorstWitchWart · 10/04/2020 20:18

Thanks Thanks Cake

to all of you with Covid 19 on this thread.

Is it at all possible that one might have light symptoms for 23+ days? For the last three weeks I have had chest tightening, tickling sensations in different parts of my chest, 2 days of the worst migraine in weeek 3 of experiencing these symptoms, ever so light cough but only occasionally and 'wet' ish and muscle pain and feeling like the onset of a cold all in week 3........

Many chance ^this could be a midl version of covid? I hope it's not insensitive to ask as many of you have had it so bad.

tootsey · 10/04/2020 20:22

@DandyPeguin my appetite has been fine throughout my 26 days. Eating as normal.

@Longshot I have the acheyness in my right leg and right arm. Had a long hot bath, helped the arm. Leg still had.

hollieberrie · 10/04/2020 20:23

Interesting about the BCG. Hopefully more will come out about this.

@WorstWitchWart My GP said that flu season is over and if you have a flu / chesty type bug now its safe to assume that it may well be Covid. Those symptoms sound familiar to me! But obvs I'm no expert. Welcome to the club that none of us want to be in! :)

mumlurker · 10/04/2020 20:30

@longshot

My left arm went numb one night and stayed like that, and still aches a bit. Combined with stabby pains and aches in my chest I definitely had the 'oh my god a have i had a secret heart attack' thoughts. But had numbness in my other arm, my leg and my face too at various points. I think some of it is from lying / sitting in weird positions for so long but the virus does seem to cause some neurological twangs.
