'what is mayonnaise if it is not a condiment'

a food group?

No. I've drawn a blank. I'll have to google... back in a mo....

GreenTeaMug · 07/04/2020 22:16

OMG!!!!

dressings-sauces.org/what-are-condiments/

There's like a website.

(mayo seeems to be a condiment).

Sparklingbrook · 07/04/2020 22:18

@MyDaughtersLeftFoot did you start a thread on here about it? Or was it your own cat?

joystir59 · 07/04/2020 22:19

I'm planning to clean the oven.

FusionChefGeoff · 07/04/2020 22:20

The kids (7 and 5) said 'mummy, can we make a paper mache volcano?'

And I said yes!!!!

(Genuinely, saying yes to the kids has been one of the nicest things about this whole experience)

OchonAgusOchonO · 07/04/2020 22:22

There's like a website.

I'm resisting going there.

(mayo seeems to be a condiment).

How did your dh take that information?

GreenTeaMug · 07/04/2020 22:23

Well, he seemed sanguine.

But i have not yet broken the news that mustard is a spice.

dingit · 07/04/2020 22:23

Ds18 asked me if I needed any help with the housework Shock

GreenTeaMug · 07/04/2020 22:23

(unless it is made up in which case i agree it s a condiment).

MrsEricBana · 07/04/2020 22:24

My mustard's in the fridge. Just saying. Grin

GreenTeaMug · 07/04/2020 22:25
Grin

So, this virus/5G conspiracy says the vaccine will contain microchips that can control a person.

I’d like my microchips to make me as domestically productive as some of the hardcore on this thread. And stop me eating all the biscuits. Thank you.

Pipandmum · 07/04/2020 22:30

My daughter organised the kitchen cupboards, now everything in order and within dates (oldest was cardoman dated 2013)!

GreenTeaMug · 07/04/2020 22:30

night all.

Thanks for the most entertaining conversation i have had all day. :)

SistemaAddict · 07/04/2020 22:34

Right, well that's tomorrow's activity sorted: folding bags into triangles! We can even turn it into a maths activity to alleviate my not doing enough homeschooling guilt Grin I'm going to wash the dining room curtains too. The buggers always shrink an inch with each wash though so it's not good.

I've got a huge list of jobs to work through. The first one is to make a list of all the jobs as the list only exists in my head.

HotTamales · 07/04/2020 22:37

Yes to the following jobs done here too:
Cleaned the oven
Bleached my chopping boards
Cleared out sideboard drawers
Tidied underwear drawer
All laundry done
Ironing basket empty
Inventory done of fridge and freezer (don't ask)
Scrubbed floors
Grouted and re-siliconed the shower
Reorganised DS bedroom
Tightened some loose drawer handles
Crochet
Slept a lot

In progress
Clearing out the garage

Aside from not seeing DP for 3 weeks, I'm quite enjoying being furloughed.

QuimReaper · 07/04/2020 22:39

Can somebody tell me how to cram some kind of cleaning implement between the free standing bath and the wall? The space is only about a centimetre and there's scum on the tiles and I've spent an unreasonable amount of time pondering it.

Daffodil55 · 07/04/2020 22:41

My small home is gradually being freshened up with paint and I can only bear doing this if a little at a time. This means though that the paint tins and paraphernalia are permanently out on the floor to encourage me to plod on. I am getting there but the big job which will be last is the dreaded garage. Never kept a car in there but oh my god it will take an extreme burst of enthusiasm for me to have a brutal clear out and tidy up. It was last done two years ago.

Hadenoughofitall441 · 07/04/2020 22:41

I’ve deep cleaned the bedroom, deep cleaned the kitchen, arranged my DVDs back in to alphabetical order, set up the jacuzzi early, rewatched however many tv series, baked out of boredom. Man I hate not working.

Bowerbird5 · 07/04/2020 22:42

Lots of the gardens in our village are looking very tidy. We did about four hours today, some on the weekend and about four days a fortnight ago. I just wish I had bought the seed potatoes and tomato plants before lockdown. We were on self isolation before that due to a visitor to our house having a child with it. Our garden has rarely had the whole garden tidy at once we are not far off that now. If the good weather keeps up it should be all done by Easter Sunday.😳😁

BillyAndTheSillies · 07/04/2020 22:46

Last week I washed and ironed all the bedding. I haven't ironed in about 10 years, DH does his own shirts. He walked in to the kitchen and nearly fainted when he saw me ironing.

Plan for the week is to clear DS2's nursery to enable us to move his crib in to there so his snoring can stop keeping me awake; which also means clearing out all his newborn, 0-3 and 3-6 month clothes which upsets me no end.

DS1's room is an absolute tip, we were due to start a loft conversion on April 1st and I'd been waiting until we moved him in to a new bedroom before sorting it but that needs to be done.

We also need to rehang all the pictures we took down when we were renovating downstairs two years ago, our house has zero personality at the moment and I miss my artwork. DH needs to find his drill.

It's just finding the time between said children to do it!

Judystilldreamsofhorses · 07/04/2020 22:47

Tomorrow we’re deep cleaning our bedroom. DP made a schedule of tasks, and stuck it to the fridge.

I’m on Easter holidays, last week was running lectures from my kitchen table - far harder work than being in the room!

T0tallyFuckedUpFamily · 07/04/2020 22:48

Can somebody tell me how to cram some kind of cleaning implement between the free standing bath and the wall?

A ruler or something similar, with a long sock or wooden stocking over it.

MyDaughtersLeftFoot · 07/04/2020 22:49

@Sparklingbrook no that wasn’t me! It drives me bananas. It’s all the neighbour cats, I don’t have cats and really don’t like them at all 😂

Madein1995 · 07/04/2020 22:52

I have NOT been productive but here's mine.

When you wake up at 8am,have a leisurely shower and breakfast before settling down with the laptop to wfh. No more alarm clocks very early, rushing about routine

When you've not worn a bra in ages (even when going for walk just wear a jacket as it is quiet) and in fact you have to make effort to put on bra before hounding shopping

When your wattaapp is pinging at the speed of knots

When you order new colouring books and pens to relieve boredom

When you start watching Stella and bad girls again, despite having watched them umpteen times already

When a hot chocolate with orange baileys and cream at 6pm doesn't seem decadant or awful but quite nice and hard earned. Christmas mindset I guess

When you eat absolute loads because you're a bit more bored wfh. Normally in office I'm so busy that eating takes 2nd place and I eat when I have chance not when I'm hungry. At home I'm not so chaotic, so I can eat more. Plus side - I'm eating regularly, downside - I'm eating too much. Today has been cornflakes and orsnge juice at breakfast, 2 slices leftover pizza at lunch followed by a muller light. Tea was 2 slizes leftover pizza and a salted caramel lava cake thingy (single serve). Have been snacking on garlic and medditeranran herb bites and might have ice cream in a bit. Terrible I know

When you take to showering of a morning not an evening because it wakes you up more, and because now you have no commute you have more time of a morning.

When you call friends you only ever previously text and saw In person, every few days.
