When you put your spices into alphabetical order 🙈

Uhh so jealous. My curtains need washing everything needs cleaning , but I have a 3 month old and a 3 year old. Neither naps. I have crumbs on top of my crumbs and it's not even damage limitation now.

We don't have any spices left though because my DS made soup with them it wasn't soup, he's 3.

Khione · 07/04/2020 22:55

@ivykaty44In the unlikely event of me having flapjacks that old I would definitely tried them too and probably decided that they were edible and wouldn't hurt me

moolady1977 · 07/04/2020 22:58

Today was a do nothing day but tomorrow I shall hopefully be fitting 30+ bra into a very small drawer while washing the bed linen and hanging it out then tidying up the bedroom I have a clothes chair that needs sorting out and if I have time I may dust my broomstick and the bats and give the ducks a bath ( no lockdown hasn't sent me crazy I have a broomstick on my bedroom wall, bats hanging from my ceiling and about 30 rubber ducks all gathering dust )

OchonAgusOchonO · 07/04/2020 23:00

@GreenTeaMug - night all.

Night Smile

Thanks for the most entertaining conversation i have had all day.

I'm expecting first draft of the journal paper tomorrow Grin

Aroundtheworldin80moves · 07/04/2020 23:05

I think I'm doing lockdown wrong. I haven't any bags to fold into triangles. And I'm not sure why I need to. Do I need to acquire some bags to fold into triangles? Or can I continue to live in ignorance?

lborgia · 07/04/2020 23:05

Thought way too long about cleaning the side of pp bath... if your floor can cope with getting really wet, I’d spray a ton of soapy water with vinegar down there.

Make sure you’ve old towels to absorb the stuff the starts to trickle out from the gap.

Leave the spray for 10 minutes, and then, using Totally’s idea, tie a bit of thin towel or similar to broom handle, and scrub with that. Spray with very hot clean water to rinse. Drip dry as much as possible, then use new dry material on stick to dry floor in the gap.

You’re welcome.Blush

No. House still a cluttered tip...
Not proud. Wish wasn't...

Sickoffamilydrama · 07/04/2020 23:07

@moolady1977 I think we need a picture or at least a diagram of that bedroom.

We are slowly organising everything we may even finish decorating/ renovating the house that we bought 9 years ago we were only going to be here a few years, it wouldn't take much to make it nice we told ourselves

BrandyandBabycham · 07/04/2020 23:09

I have made lots of lists, which I find very comforting. My To Do list has gone down a bit but plenty of jobs to get through yet. We only have a small house & moved from a much bigger one so had loads of stuff & it still needs sorting. DH has cleared the spare room which is meant to be his office. DD has even had a go at her room - by tidying it she’s actually made more mess, bless her, but at least she’s tried. DH has mowed the front lawn which hasn’t been done for months cos of the rain. We’ve been doing more as a family, which is lovely & long overdue.

moolady1977 · 07/04/2020 23:12

@Sickoffamilydrama I shall take a picture of the broomstick, bats and ducks in the morning when I don't have to turn the light on and disturb snorie macsnore

Shmabel · 07/04/2020 23:16

I'm jealous of all of you and your productivity! I just genuinely can't be arsed. Lockdown has made me very lazy. And I have a baby coming in July; there's plenty to do!

moolady1977 · 07/04/2020 23:20

@Sickoffamilydrama here we are excuse the mess it needs a good fettling

@Sparklingbrook I read someone saying today that ironing kills the virus

Is that the effects of the actual iron, or is it because the very act of ironing bores it to death? Grin

Wauden · 07/04/2020 23:23

When you twitch the curtains just a little bit, to see a different human being Blush

BBTHREE76 · 07/04/2020 23:23

Today I have folded and labelled all the power cables, wires and adaptors. Yep! I am seriously geeky and bored

FascinatingCarrot · 07/04/2020 23:25

I amm planning to stockpile gin for organising all backed up duplicated photos

T0tallyFuckedUpFamily · 07/04/2020 23:29

Oh! The one thing I’m most proud of, is the fluffy rice I made to go with dinner. It was perfect (by my standards). I’ve used microwave rice for years because I could never make the loose stuff properly. Yay for the internet. I can now make rice and it was so easy. Btw, I’m 52yrs old. 😳

Longdistance · 07/04/2020 23:32

We have sorted the pantry (including sorting out the herbs and spices in alphabetical order).
The under stair cupboard is tidy
The cleaning cupboard is tidy
The bathroom cupboard is tidy
The loft is tidy
We have 7 charity bags sorted.
A set of drawers, countless bags of rubbish for the tip.
I’ve baked rolls, a loaf, cake and biscuits.
I’m actually watching some Netflix box sets.
I’ve actually turned the carrier bags into triangles too Blush
Normally, I don’t have time to fart 💨

sueelleker · 07/04/2020 23:47

I’d like my microchips to make me as domestically productive as some of the hardcore on this thread. And stop me eating all the biscuits. Thank you. A touch of the Stepford Wives there?

ProfessorPootle · 07/04/2020 23:50

I’m so jealous, house is a mess but am so busy with work. Kids are fending for themselves and living on screens, just not enough hours in the day to even do the minimum.

stickerqueen · 08/04/2020 00:04

I got the paint out the cupboard today too see what I actually have got 9 tins of emulsion various colors and 3 tins of white gloss so Tomorrow i will wipe down the walls in dd's room to prepare them for hubby to paint it's well overdue I sorted all her old clothes and toys binned come put some away for charity.

IchbineinBerlinner · 08/04/2020 00:11

Im paralysed. I just can't face decluttering. I have a million books. Or sth like that anyway

thenewaveragebear1983 · 08/04/2020 07:15

@Aroundtheworldin80moves ahah. You see, you don't have a bag problem, you have a DH problem. You needed to have the foresight to, 11 years ago, meet a man who is incapable of remembering his bag for life and has saved every single wretched carrier bag he's ever bought since then.

I, genuinely, had a hundred or more plastic bags and probably 30 reusable bag for life ones, because he, genuinely, buys a new one(s) every time he goes shopping. It's like the entire reusable bag wave has passed him by....

thenewaveragebear1983 · 08/04/2020 07:19

There I one thing I want to do, but I'm having to procrastinate because it's a can of worms open if I do it. I have strong reason to believe that under the tiled floor of our hallway is an original parquet floor, and I would love to lift just one tiny tile in the far corner to establish this. However, I did plan to do this in the summer holidays. Now Dh is here, he will be very disapproving of this investigation. And of course, if there actually is a parquet floor under there, then I would have to make the decision to lift the tiles and restore the floor, or just replace the tile and hide it away for ever...
