When you put your spices into alphabetical order 🙈

Also working 10 hours here!

i have literally just sent my last client e-mail.

I am sort of hoping that work will tail off so I can get me some of this lockdown boredom action that is going on.

ivykaty44 · 07/04/2020 21:24

Greentea thevdog over the road has a chair put out every afternoon for him to sit on and watch people going up and down the street, it has a cushion with frills..

I might triangularise my bags tomorrow. That seems like a fun and productive way to spend my only day off Hmm

I moved house last year and have become ruthless about clutter and storing things properly, so no big clear-outs to keep me amused.

SpillTheTeaa · 07/04/2020 21:24

I gave my front door a wash yesterday Grin.
Hoovered the blinds. I usually clean a lot anyway as I'm a bit of a clean freak but doing little extras I don't usually have time for makes me happy 🤪

TryingToBeBold · 07/04/2020 21:24

I washed my doors (internal).
Painted the skirting board.
Will be painting the windowsills soon

TryingToBeBold · 07/04/2020 21:25

@SpillTheTeaa I'm not the only one washing doors! Grin

GreenTeaMug · 07/04/2020 21:25

ivy I hope my cat can't read English because if she reads your post I am in big trouble.

(I'm thinking i am in big trouble)

Sparklingbrook · 07/04/2020 21:26

This was my day off. I am struggling with the need to have a rest vs the need to achieve something. Sad

Thunderpunt · 07/04/2020 21:29

@ivykaty44 I need to see a photo of this dog on his frilly chair if it's not too outing, how cute

I have cleaned the scuzzy brown/black but once was cream grout in my kitchen floor tiles on my hands and knees today.. tomorrow the oven, Thursday the windows, Friday listing loads of stuff on eBay as drafts, ready to make live listings as soon as lockdown is over.

FabulouslyFab · 07/04/2020 21:30

Working from home here too. Downtime spent crocheting like @Doyouthinktheysaurus . Latest is rainbows and hanging them around the village for the children to spot on their walks. I don’t think anyone knows who has done it yet - least not on our village Fb page 😁

Eeeeek2 · 07/04/2020 21:30

I've washed the curtains.

Solina · 07/04/2020 21:34

I have organised all of the kitchen cupboards, did all of our washing (dp was telling me I was stretching it when I was washing the dressing gowns) and done some other bits and pieces around the house. Tomorrow I will brave the oven I think and maybe do a good hoover/mop including wiping all the skirting boards. What a life I live.

MiniatureRed · 07/04/2020 21:38

I have now ordered vacuum bags thanks to this thread! Shall sort out The Cupboard Of Doom when they arrive.

CatAndHisKit · 07/04/2020 21:39

haha, like the triangles!

ivykaty44 · 07/04/2020 21:41

Thunderpunt I’ll see if I can get one, he like to sit out each afternoon, so if I remember tomorrow I’ll get a photo. I’ve got a busy cleaning life so I’ll squeeze it in 😂

When you put your spices into alphabetical order

My spices were already in alphabetical order Blush.

ZoeandChandon · 07/04/2020 21:42

Oo quarantine bingo, a game I can play. I’ve done the airing cupboard, all the kitchen cupboards, triangulised my carrier bags, made banana bread, deep cleaned the shower and got rid of the black mould, line dried a dozen loads of washing, done extreme ironing.
Today I started on the two massive boxes of photos ( I’m 52, that’s a lot of years of having photos developed before camera phones came along). Liberating ripping crap photos in half (so many divorced friends!). Also a lot of photographing the photos and sending to friends to reminisce or laugh at our 80’s hairstyles. So clearing out but socialising too, win win.

KeepWashingThoseHands · 07/04/2020 21:42

Found 2 jars of Marmite in the back of the cupboard, one was 9 years old. I moved to this house 5 years ago so must have packed it up with me Shock

Looked fine though :) I didn't eat it

T0tallyFuckedUpFamily · 07/04/2020 21:43

I cleaned out the shed and my youngest now refers to it as Homebargains, because all the cleaning products, loo/kitchen rolls, dishwasher tablets etc are all organised and laid out on shelves (I’m a prepper)

Drank wine.

Batch cooked @ 50 meals for the freezer.

Drank wine.

Marie kondo’d my clothes drawers

Drank wine

Deep cleaned the dog room and organised all the throws, dog treats, etc. (I’m now an out of work dog sitter) 😭 I miss my wee doggy guests.

Drank wine.

Organised the wine and spirits.

Drank wine.

Got annoyed at how quickly the wine is disappearing.

Drank wine to get over the annoyance.

I think I need to start drinking water. Blush

MrsEricBana · 07/04/2020 21:43

*I’ve done nothing useful today.

From this thread, I have learned the useful term ‘ambient condiments’.*

^ditto

JellyfishandShells · 07/04/2020 21:45

Tackled the understairs cupboard ; cleaned the fiddly bathroom blinds; bleached the bathroom tile grouting ( lots of it ) ; polished brass door knobs ( very satisfying ) ; waxed bedroom furniture . Silver lining of the timing of this is it coincides with traditional spring cleaning, when everything is looking tired and grubby after the winter.

MrsEricBana · 07/04/2020 21:48

Ok, I have googled and still don't know what an ambient condiment is Blush

GreenTeaMug · 07/04/2020 21:48

DH got a pack of flapjacks out of ther larder. You know the type of 'fresh flapjacks' that come ina palstic box that you get from the bakery?

he commented that they might be out of date because he could not recall going to Morrisons since Christmas time.

Then he looked at the best before.... try September 2018.

Thing is... they still looked fine. Not hard. not mouldy.

DH has been known to eat tinned thai curry that was 8 years out of date so he briefly considered it... but then abandoned the idea.

OchonAgusOchonO · 07/04/2020 21:50

What are ambient condiments?

And I am also jealous of all you busy people. Although I suspect if I wasn't working, I wouldn't be doing any cleaning or tidying. The nearest I got to any of that was moving a tupperware box so it blocked an avalanche of plastic whenever the door is opened. Two university students who have brought their tupperware home has pushed the cupboard beyond tipping point.

OchonAgusOchonO · 07/04/2020 21:51

@MrsEricBana - Ok, I have googled and still don't know what an ambient condiment is

Oh good. It's not just me.
