The other thread is filling up fast so setting up the foundation for our new evil lair. One where we follow real guidelines, not made up ones, make sock cocks ,ruin hair and bemoan the shortage of Spanish soldiers.

This is where we'll keep each other sane or descend into madness together... depends on the day.

@PinkSparklyPussyCat .. iv also just been opening it putting it in the bin and washing my hands isn't that the normal thing to do? I couldn't leave it unopened for days .. it's the only 5 second of enjoyment I get these days opening parcels of non essential items !

PrincessConsueIaBananaHammock · 07/04/2020 09:46

Nope ,no disinfecting mail either. Tbh not much has changed here except for washing hands more often. I don't even bleach the cat when he comes in from his nightly prowls.

I’ve been keeping delivery boxes for my cats to play in. So if you hear of Covid spreading to a domestic cat, you know who to blame.

Willow2017 · 07/04/2020 09:47

BANANAS!!!!
OMG they are gorgeous. I love gsds. Had one (shorthair) many moons ago and also a gsdx/collie (probably!) from a rescue. When we got the x she was crazy but soon settled and they were inseperable. Its all to complicated but have not been able to have another and was contemplating it recently as kids would love a dog then tshtf.
We have had gps but last one died a few months ago so no more.

Also had cats all my life till a few years ago. You are prob right Princess a lot easier than dogs hmmm.😉
Waves to Isaysteadyon pull up a chair. You need somewhere to hide from the lynch mob for letting your child step foot outside your door!

PinkSparklyPussyCat · 07/04/2020 09:49

Thank god, I’ve found my people! I was beginning to think I was wrong for not having a quarantine room form my post!

I agree @PrincessConsueIaBananaHammock, there’s not much enjoyment around at the moment (although I’m still enjoying the chocolate that got a certain poster frothing at the mouth) so I want to open my parcels immediately. I’m not waiting 5 days to use my essential nail polish order!

PinkSparklyPussyCat · 07/04/2020 09:52

Sorry, that should have been I agree @bigmamama

mimiasovitch · 07/04/2020 09:52

It was quite weird in Tesco yesterday. People had baskets and small trolleys- I had a full to the brim big one and felt like it was a bad thing. No one could see the Lindt bunnies hiding under my bread and, drum roll, macaroni ( Mac and cheese is just not as good with penne, or worst of all, fusilli). How are we meant to isolate and maintain some mental balance if we don't have all the carbs (crumpets/hot cross buns/thick cut toast)?

sar302 · 07/04/2020 09:56

Can I join please? Me and DH made gin and Prosecco cocktails last night - for a reason that seemed very important at 7pm. As a result I'm feeling a little delicate this morning, so my two year old is currently watching Bing on demand (thanks sky), instead of completing 17 different craft projects before 10am.

I too have been doing illegal shopping, otherwise known as treating myself to a new handbag for my miserable locked down birthday.

I also leave the house daily, to take my toddler on an almost completely deserted walk, where we see almost no people. We have not noted any giant red coronavirus balls, tracking us down like Rover, so will probably continue to take our government sanctioned exercise for a while yet.

Enjoying this thread immensely. Probably far too much under the current circumstances (off to report myself.)

SarahTancredi · 07/04/2020 09:57

Morning everyone. Loving waking up to the dog pics! Hope they aren't all planning on eating again tidayAngry

This article really bugs me.

www.bbc.co.uk/news/health-52180783

2-4% is not negligible.
Risk to staff is not negligible.
The idea that you can keep 2 m away in a classroom of 30 kids is risible.
Taking away or limiting playtime is going to drive the kids bonkers.

And there's more about the impact on the economy in it than the impact on education or mental health.

Arghh...and breathe.

Oh dear, I’ve just said the ‘rules’ on MN are made up by the truly batshit I’m competition to be the most miserable...

I may just lie low over here for a bit

rc22 · 07/04/2020 10:01

Can I make a confession? I saw the news that Debenhams is likely to go into administration. I'm sitting on about £100 worth of Debenhams gift cards so did a massive non-essential online shopping spree with them yesterday. I am a little bit covid 19 paranoid and, I confess, I can be a little preachy when I think people are not sticking to the rules properly. However, when I weighed it up I just couldn't justify losing that amount of money!!

Crikey i am having trouble keeping up! Its nice to know there are still sensible people on Mn and its not all gone to shit with the shouters and frothers.

I need to get some shopping later just fresh stuff really but there will be chocolate and squirty cream and if poss caramel sauce. I miss my occaisional free caramelatte at Cafe Nero and am going to sit down lose myself in my book and pretend🤣

Really need to move and get showered. Need to work on the bathroom. Got paint for woodwork and its awful. Did a small bit to try it but its got to go! Really p'd off as no way to get more just now.

Aloe6 · 07/04/2020 10:10

Willow B&Q are doing a click and collect service if you can get to one. I used them at the weekend to get some non essential fence paint.

PrincessConsueIaBananaHammock · 07/04/2020 10:11

Willow have you tried ebay or amazon for paint? Might take a while to arrive though.

No idea if the usual places would deliver , I know in person they only allow trade purchases.

Have you watched that tv prog on searching for 'Bigfoot'? I havent watched it but seen adverts. You could volunteer.😄 If i dont shave my legs today i could probably join you.🤣🤣

Willow2017 · 07/04/2020 10:19

Aloe6 thanks but nearest one is 40 miles away😞
Might check nearest asda. The big one which is too far away sold paint but nearest one is a smaller one so not optimistic. Going to check my paint stock see if i have white and probably do the large bits in white snd just use colour for skirting boards and door/window frames. Cant put lining paper on until i get filler either. I did have filler but canmit find it must have thriwn it out when i had a thorough declutter recently. When i stripped it to bare walls i found lots of bits that need filling. Crappy damm house.

If no luck will try online...pass the whip back.🙁

Letmegetthisrightasawoman · 07/04/2020 10:32

I need your help. Little man has a ridiculously big head so last year's bike helmet is too small already. We aren't going on any bike rides, but we have got him a tricycle. I want him to wear a helmet when he goes on it, because I don't want to risk having to take him to A&E (for the purely selfish reason that I hate it there and don't want us to be in a hospital right now with all the germs). Nowwww... The most appropriate helmet I've found is from Halfords. However, they don't deliver, but do socially distanced click and collect instead. We could combine collection with a supermarket shop, but I feel a little uncomfortable about it. I think it's because of the scaremongering on here Sad. Do you think it would be OK to collect it from the shop?

Ok ok I have a confession ... I need to tell someone before I explode!
So my mum has been at home for 17 days now hasn't been in contact with any humans or otherwise she's young healthy not vulnerable... she's been dying to see me and the kids ... I took my 3yo to her house on Thursday and I left him there Shockhe's still there now ! I mean I'm worried about bill and pat her next door neighbours reporting me to the police and I am expecting to probably be hung for my crime. BUT I have used common sense and she's had no contact and me my dh and 2 children have not seen anyone in 17 days also (except for Said supermarket run yday) soooooo surely we will all be ok. God it feels good to admit to this.

missfliss · 07/04/2020 11:03

I've found my people !! Thank goodness 😅

Coldemort · 07/04/2020 11:18

I've just been on my balcony and had a chat with neighbour on balcony next to me.
As this is neither a garden or a driveway, where am I on the murdereress scale?

Coldemort · 07/04/2020 11:20

And how much do I want to start a 'chatted whilst on balcony' thread just for the replies? 🤔
