Ive had the pins and needles but in my neck and my legs, tonight i’ve got breathless and the shits. I know that day 15 is nothing compared to days 20+ that many of you are on.

If this isnt corona what the hell else could it be?? And at what point does it go from being a long post vital recovery to “complications of post viral fatigue” when does it become acceptable to call a bloody doctor.

Ironically I have BUPA and they emailed to say that I can now have a video GP appointment. Should I even bother?!

What I wouldnt give for a coronataxis

@TheDrsWife46

I think it's worth speaking to a doctor if you can. I spoke to mine today and she was so certain it was corona, I don't know why but that made me feel vindicated in a way. The fact that she didn't seem worried by my symptoms was also reassuring (I was calling about something other than corona, but obviously it came up!)

stayathomegardener · 07/04/2020 20:43

@TheDrsWife46 what an absolute moppet your little dog is.

Sorry you are not good again, I dipped those days but came back up again.

Standrewsschool · 07/04/2020 20:52

@TheDrsWife46

Why Coronadog? Very cute. I want a cuddle!

Mummadeeze · 07/04/2020 20:52

I am at the end of Day 4 and feel significantly better (first three days was horrendous in terms of aches and pains and sore chest, headache etc). But tonight most of the aches have subsided and the main new development is that I have lost my taste. Reading this thread am wondering if it is possible that I am getting better so quickly? Should I be prepared to go downhill again?

Standrewsschool · 07/04/2020 20:52

And yes, speak to the gp.

musicposy · 07/04/2020 20:58

TheDrsWife I would speak if you can. I’m really glad I spoke and got the antibiotics and if my abdo pain/ pee/ poo doesn’t sort in the next day or so I will again. You shouldn’t be without help so if it’s offered; take it. If it’s via video it’s not as though you can catch anything else.

So sorry you’ve taken a downturn. We only have one bathroom but I had to give up going to it in the night at about your stage as I was close to passing out. DH got the camping toilet from the loft. Its not a perfect solution and I had moments of worrying what an ambulance crew would think if they came in! Try not to worry; you can’t help being ill.

Your dog is absolutely gorgeous! What a darling. Here is mine looking very scruffy and in need of a groom, but guarding me like crazy, and last summer in happier days.

@TheDrsWife46 your dog is so adorable 😍

I think we all have fevers in my house we all have very flushed cheeks our temperatures are all with in normal range however windows have been open all day and closed over slightly now the temperature has dropped out there. Is it possible to have a temperature but for it not to read on an ear thermometer

Meercatmama · 07/04/2020 21:13

So the end of an exhausting day. When I spoke to the out of hours GP for my husband she was asking questions about my symptoms as well as she heard me coughing I explained I was on day 23 and she said it can take over a month to recover. Husband on day 9 now in bed sleeping just hoping he is better in the morning He is still suffering the bloating and some temps but not as bad as last night, He was fearful of sleeping tonight so people who said earlier about the low moods seem right as I have felt like that today as well. thank you for all the support as I have been on here since thread one and you have seen me through the worst bits

stayathomegardener · 07/04/2020 21:26

@pinkoneblueone I've been running a temperature, restless hot at night and flushing during the day but never managed to get a raised reading.

Friend suggested it could have triggered menopause as am 52 but who knows. 🤷‍♀️ new favourite emoji during these times.

Love scruffy dog.

user34254356 · 07/04/2020 21:30

@Drswife you are doing super well and please ignore those "friends".

this forum has been great for my own mental wellbeing and I wanted to shout out to everyone who has been so helpful at every moment of panic.

I am glad we are all making our recoveries in our own sweet time though they do get derailed once in a while but so happy to read the timeline from @stayathomegardener that most of us are probably out of the danger zone now.

My new symptom today is upper back pain. Anyone else care to share their experience - should I be concerned? @Longshot was it you that the GP thought it was likely to be muscular?

user34254356 · 07/04/2020 21:32

@pinkoneblueone I think this is the reason why the NHS111 questions don't refer to specific temperature but whether your chest feels hot. I have had a fever quite consistently, including sweating it out after paracetamol but only on a few days I recorded an official fever.

GrapefruitsAreNotTheOnlyFruit · 07/04/2020 21:32

@Mummadeeze I think there are a lot of people who get mild symptoms and are better after a week. Then some people take a turn for the worse. Some will develop serious breathing problems and end up in hospital others will have more moderate but still unpleasant symptoms and recovery may take a long time.

I think most of the people posting on this thread have persistent moderate symptoms. With mild symptoms people aren't sure they have had it and quickly feel better. Very severe symptoms and people are too sick to post, though there have been a couple of updates from mumsnetters in hospital or just returned.

Good luck, hopefully you will get off lightly.

Big wave to everyone else!

LetsBeSensible · 07/04/2020 21:32

@shrodingerskitty sending you my best wishes for DH

@TheDrsWife46 I think you’ve to be ill around 3 months for it to be post-viral fatigue, I doubt you’re even post-viral yet, good days and bad days is how it will be for a while

GrapefruitsAreNotTheOnlyFruit · 07/04/2020 21:35

@Mummadeeze sorry did mean to suggest your symptoms haven't been horrible. I just meant to say that yes it's true that people do recover in a few days. But a temperature lasting longer than a week is an indication the illness will be more prolonged and severe.

GrapefruitsAreNotTheOnlyFruit · 07/04/2020 21:38

@TheDrsWife46 I think it's definitely worth speaking to a doctor. I think perhaps I may have been developing a secondary infection and the antibiotics my doctor prescribed are working. Probably famous last words. We will see.

pinkoneblueone · 07/04/2020 21:39

I thought we had escaped the fever part of the virus seems we probably haven't. Thank you ladies.

user34254356 · 07/04/2020 21:40

@LetsBeSensible i like your Dos and Donts.

I can add: Dont whatsapp me for an update on how I am doing!

(I had to turn my notifications off at one point as I just couldn't take the incessant messages for an update - all well meaning - but there wasn't much to update as there was no improvement).

Mummadeeze · 07/04/2020 21:41

Grapefruitsarenottheonlyfruit thank you for responding. I feel so bad for people who have been ill for so long and whilst this thread is a comfort and support group for everyone in that situation it has made me quite worried that I will take a downturn again. I guess I can only wait and see and hope for the best. My aches and pains were really severe at first but it is fair to say my symptoms have been mild overall because I haven’t had a temperature or found it hard to breathe. Thanks again and hope everyone struggling has some respite soon. It has been such a hard time in so many ways.

Crayfishforyou · 07/04/2020 21:46

It seems to be night time where all my fear demons come out to play.
I've had my second day without a temperature, less dizzy spells and breathlessness too.
But I'm still as white as a sheet and terrified I'm going to feel really open again.
I'm only on day 8 or 9. I'm not sure my sanity will cope with another three weeks or four weeks of it.

onlinelinda · 07/04/2020 21:47

Has the precise cause of the burning back been identified, does anyone know?

I hope everyone sleeps well.

Tangledyarn · 07/04/2020 21:51

@GrapefruitsAreNotTheOnlyFruit Agreed. When I spoke to my GP again yesterday he seemed to think that weeks to months was probably the timescale I'm looking at (am already in wk 5) as I've still got a lot of symptoms. Whilst I'm not happy about it by any stretch its reassuring that he didnt feel how I was still feeling re breathing/chest pain/fatigue etc etc was particularly off, although its obviously v early days in a new virus for any medical professional to know particularly well.

onlinelinda · 07/04/2020 21:54

@aisforharlot that is not completely unusual, I don't think. A few of us got better then up and down a bit.

Taffyapple8 · 07/04/2020 22:17

Just been sick and have a banging headache. This is the worst night by far. I'm scared.

Taffyapple8 · 07/04/2020 22:24

I feel like my body isn't coping with this virus. I'm burning up again.
