@SchrodingersKitty so sorry to hear about your DH. It would be stressful at any time and now is even worse as you have to think twice about going to hospital. The suggestion to speak to the hospital about transport is a good one. They should be able to support you in these unusual time's.

mumlurker · 07/04/2020 18:35

unpleasant new symptom on day 24 - dumbness/pins and needles in my left arm and hand, and in my right hand. have had this for about 24 hours now. Anyone else experienced anything similar? no pain, can move my arms and hands fine, but feels like theyve gone dead...

stayathomegardener · 07/04/2020 18:47

@mumlurker yep around day 24 but only for about 5 hours. My arms and legs felt so peculiar as if I'd been sitting on them and they had gone numb.

EMichel102 · 07/04/2020 18:47

@user34254356 a 5 min stroll is great for the mental positivity as I was feeling pretty down earlier and trapped in my bedroom. But go really slowly and not far for your first venture out. And then rest!

This group has honestly been my saviour throughout this journey, so thank you to everyone for being so supportive of easy other and listening / responding to each other! When you’re in the thick of it or a new symptom pops up it’s hard to imagine feeling healthy again, but it will happen soon for all of us!

stayathomegardener · 07/04/2020 18:50

I know a lot of us are avoiding the news so I just took a screenshot of a discussion about Germany's excellent handling of the virus with some positive information about the typical progression as they are finding it.

pinkoneblueone · 07/04/2020 18:50

My flushed face and freezing feet have returned

AnythingPecan · 07/04/2020 18:51

@EMichel102 I second this. Thank you to all for such a wonderful group which has helped so many of us rationalise our experiences and fears at such an odd time.
For someone who suffers with anxiety I have found these threads to be a great comfort knowing that there is light at the end of the tunnel - and even just knowing that the symptoms were experiencing are a part of this virus and not something we're imagining.

musicposy · 07/04/2020 18:55

SchrodingersKitty I’m so sorry to read about your DH. What a challenging and scary time for you. I do hope they get a plan in place quickly and you can find someone to take him. I really hope that this has been Covid 19 for you too - I can’t see how it hasn’t been for any of us but a test would be particularly useful for you.

TheDrsWife46 yes, put a pic of your dog up! Mine has also been laying pretty much on top of me for four weeks and will not leave. She knew I had a downturn the other day, weirdly, as she went from lying by my legs to almost on my head! I kept having to shoo her off in the night. I’ll put a pic of her up but I want to see your lovely young dog Smile

WaktiWapnasi I get the pancreatitis fear! I’ve been getting some mild pain and am terrified of ending up in hospital with pancreatitis as I’ve had it before and that’s a long recovery job and no mistake. I had a bit of suspected chronic, triggered by gallbladder, but it’s been pretty much Ok for the last two years. My organs all feel very dodgy and it’s the last thing I need. I’ve not touched a drop of alcohol since (not that I drank much before) but recently have had a few ready meals with alcohol in the sauce eg chicken in red wine gravy. I know it’s meant to burn off but I’m thinking I might cut that out for the time being, just to be safe. I’m getting a lot of vague but fairly strong abdominal pains coming and going.

Fell asleep this afternoon and woke up feeling very weird and as though I’d gone downhill again but after an hour or so I’m feeling a bit better. Still have a kind of window of opportunity in the morning though where I managed to walk downstairs today! Managed to eat a light meal at lunch but back to feeling sick again tonight. I’m so desperate for the tiny shreds of my recovery to continue.

ofwarren · 07/04/2020 18:56

@Shrodingerskitty
What an extremely stressful time for both of you. Bad enough at the best of times, never mind with all this going on too Flowers

Aisforharlot · 07/04/2020 19:00

Can I ask for a sanity check?

I got initial cough symptoms (slight chest tightness) the 15th of March, plus tiredness. Felt like I was on the mend a week or so later, had a few days where I felt much better.

Now, Thursday, I started feeling coldy, slightly blocked nose, most importantly, taste and smell disappeared within 48 hours and remain gone.
Everyday I feel seemingly more viral-y tired.

Family thinks this is just a continuation of the thing from the 15th March, but can it be?
I’m really scared it’s going to get worse, I just want to feel up to exercise again.

Spacecadetagain · 07/04/2020 19:09

@SchrodingersKitty I’m so sorry to hear about your DHs update . I would second what’s been said about asking if transport can be provided. I think your DH would fit the criteria for hospital transport .
I’ve started my antibiotics and seriously hope this is a secondary infection as I can feel myself burning and I’ve got ear ache now too

Taffyapple8 · 07/04/2020 19:17

Feeling very very nauseous. Anyone ekse have this around day 9? My throat is hurting as well 😩

stayathomegardener · 07/04/2020 19:18

I thought this was a positive snippet I think for us on timelines of patients likely to go downhill.

It's discussing Germany's successful approach to treating the virus in the community.

I'd have definitely welcomed a Corona Taxi.

My Lungs Part 6
Spacecadetagain · 07/04/2020 19:19

@taffyapple8 yes I had it around then and in fact was sick but it felt more like severe heartburn and acid reflux causing me to be sick

EMichel102 · 07/04/2020 19:19

@stayathomegardener can you share what it says about the typical progression you found or the screenshot? Super interested!

EMichel102 · 07/04/2020 19:21

Oh sorry just seen the screenshot! Ignore me Smile

Lovelesslily · 07/04/2020 19:24

@SchrodingersKitty So sorry to hear about your DH. How utterly stressful even under other circumstances. Hoping you are able to access care, thinking you Flowers

@TheDrsWife46 I echo calls for pictures of your amazing dog! Unfortunately my lovely cat died unexpectedly out of the blue the week before lockdown started. It has made this time even worse, just terrible timing.

Day 17 here. I wasn't able to sleep last night as every little twinge sent me into a panic, but called my GP this morning and she thinks it doesn't sound like I have another secondary infection but will just be a long recovery and to call back if I get a temperature again. Managed to sleep from 9-12.

Not too bad otherwise today, managed to be "up" as have decided to stop isolating in my room on day 17. My dad still has no symptoms so hoping I've made the right choice.
Lots of twinges/random pains in back and side but not too bad.

mumlurker · 07/04/2020 19:27

thanks @stayathomegardener

I've never experienced this before! i think it might be sitting/sleeping in a strange position that's caused it but it's put a bit of a downer on my day as i'm otherwise feeling on the mend.

I think this whole experience has made me reconsider lots of aspects of my health i took for granted before. I'm not in bad shape but I feel a bit paranoid now that I should be doing more to keep healthy/keep my immune system in good shape.

tootsey · 07/04/2020 19:32

Day 25 here and the burning in my back has returned. Anyone got any words of encouragement, this is really getting me down.

Calyx72 · 07/04/2020 19:33

@taffyapple8 it's good that you were having a good day for a while, sorry it changed and you feel poorly again Thanks. No nausea for me day 10 or thereabouts just that bad diarrhoea. Hope you're ok again soon

EMichel102 · 07/04/2020 19:37

@tootsey have you used gaviscon? It helps I think for the back burning and then I take 1 Nexium a day. Haven’t had it since.

musicposy · 07/04/2020 19:45

mumlurker I also had pins and needles the other night in my left side, particularly arm and hands. I kept shifting trying to get some blood circulating then every time I dozed off to sleep I had it again. Weirdly when I was very ill after my coeliac diagnosis I had it then a lot too. At that point they did Doppler scans on my legs to check circulation but I don’t think they ever found anything. It’s made me less scared this time round as I assume it can happen when the body is under stress though I’ve no idea why.

I know what you mean about not taking health for granted. I had a bad time 3 years ago with coeliac disease, pancreas, gallbladder and was in hospital a few weeks. Since then I’ve worked so hard to get my health back, exercise, nutrition etc. I’m really really glad I did as I was fairly fit and well before this and thank goodness. Once I’m over this I’m going to definitely try to get back to a good level of fitness. Also, I’m 53 so no spring chicken and you do really start to feel that it’s use it or lose it! I really neglected my health in my 30s and 40s - I was so busy with children, work, and all the rest of it I existed on a terrible diet and did zero exercise and paid the price as I hit 50. I will never be so complacent again and this hideous bug has been a stark reminder.

tootsey · 07/04/2020 20:00

Emichel102 no haven't tried gaviscon. Will try and get some. I'm on amoxicillin, only since Saturday. Thought they were helping, but seem to have taken a huge step backwards.

TheDrsWife46 · 07/04/2020 20:01

I’m just catching up because ive got breathlessness again and now the squits again. Explosive i think someone said earlier. I wasnt feeling great asked dh to put a tv in my bedroom as i really cant face the sofa and boom nearly didnt make the toilet. Prob is ive been using rhe downstairs loo as my loo and have had to burst into theirs.

Now im gonna have to try and bleach it all etc feeling like shit.

Have a picture of coronadog whilst i get myself settled, clean up and catch up on thread

@musicposy

That's reassuring. I'm going to try not to worry about pins and needles for now since it isn't actually painful.

I'm in my late 30s so didn't expect to be hit this hard by a stupid virus. It's definitely made me appreciate what it feels like to feel well. I think the effect on my mental health have also been a bit of a shock, I've become a quivering wreck in a few short weeks!

I do think it's just luck of the draw to some extent how hard it hits you, but it sounds like you're in a good position to get back to where you were before in terms of health and fitness. Being able to think ahead is a good sign at least - a few days ago all I could think about was the here and now of all my horrible symptoms!
