@eyebrowsofinstagram I'm day 16 and get them on and off. They are worse if I panic about the twinges.
Easier said than done but try and relax, take deep breaths and take paracetamol.
Obviously if they are bad, you can ring 111 but it's looking like some chest pain is "normal".

AnythingPecan · 07/04/2020 17:00

@Coleoptera I was prescribed antibiotics for an assumed secondary chest infection today by my GP over the phone.
He asked me to count my breaths for a minute. Told me it could have developed into a bacterial infection and at my stage (22 days) that wasn't uncommon apparently. I now have my meds but not sure whether to take them or not!

pinkoneblueone · 07/04/2020 17:01

The person who had green wee, are you taking Doxycycline? I have noticed green wee too and am on this tablet too. I wonder if there is a link

pinkoneblueone · 07/04/2020 17:02

I was prescribed over the phone from 111 after an asthma attack because I was coughing up gunk.

Crayfishforyou · 07/04/2020 17:04

eyebrowsofinstagram
I'm getting chest pains so bad I'm clutching at it, and chewing rennies does help.

Casino218 · 07/04/2020 17:08

Day 29 been out for a longer walk today which was good. There's just 3 symptoms I have now. Chest pain the odd time sometimes in my sternum sometimes it feels inside my lung, a discomfort under my diaphragm almost like my liver doesn't fit ( which every time I say that to my DH he just laughs), fatigue in the afternoon. Take care all, thinking of you x

Spacecadetagain · 07/04/2020 17:18

I’ve spent most of today lying on my front on the sofa .. my poor ribs are so sore but after doing the breathing exercises then lying on my front . I sat up and coughed up some sticky yellowish phlegm .. so it obviously does help

EMichel102 · 07/04/2020 17:22

Thanks @OneDayAtATime123 for the gargling and Neti pot suggestions - will look into it.

I went for a 5-10 minute slow walk today and have come back feeling like my lungs And throat are “sore” from it. Sats are absolutely fine. Feels like when I was in sports and are recovering from a tough run?! But definitely feel it in my throat and brought up a tiny bit of yellow phlegm for the first time in 22 days (?). Hoping it’ll ease off / die down but thought I’d share in case others experience something similar!

Standrewsschool · 07/04/2020 17:29

@pinkoneblueone - I’m on doxycycline. No green wee.

I was given antibiotics after talking to gp on the phone.

Goatymcgoaty · 07/04/2020 17:47

Did anyone get bad neck and shoulder pain, sometimes moving down the arm? As if you’d pulled a thousand muscles all at once. And a really really sore throat with a lump feeling (but no lump there)?

longshot · 07/04/2020 17:49

@goatmcgoaty I have had all the back, shoulder and arm pain, that started late on though, I’m on day 28!

LetsBeSensible · 07/04/2020 17:52

Hi all, I’m not enjoying day 22. The fatigue is crazy and I have CFS!!! Had “only” 8 hrs last night and had 3 hrs worth of naps.
I’ve got jelly legs/energy free muscles a lot and am mainly attached to the sofa. Managed a bath earlier but that’s all. Hoping to wash up later.
Temp is a bit up, glands in neck hurt and have a headache.

I get that beating heart thing anyway when I’m ill with CFS and jelly legs, I think these are part of immune response/viral illnesses, and the pins and needles/hand foot soft tissue stabs.I’ve got all that too now, don’t let it panic you. Green wee I’ve never heard of though!!!!!!

I have been searching (didn’t find anything) for some kind of “guide” pictureI can post on my social media along the lines of “how can I help someone with Covid” with a list of what to say/ what NOT to say. I really think people need some education!!!
Don’t ring me up crying because you’re scared for me
Don’t ask me to justify what symptoms I have
Don’t tell me to drink fluids/take paracetamol
Don’t insist on coming round/dropping shopping off
Don’t send panicked messages if I’m slow to reply
Do ask me how you can support me
Do end messages with “no need to reply”
Do tell me you’re thinking of me
Do send me memes and pics and fun stuff

longshot · 07/04/2020 17:53

@Casino218 good to hear from you! How long is a longer walk might I ask? We sound similar ish. Today has mostly been ok for me. Symptoms now on day 28 are:

Fatigue in the afternoon
Pain in lowest left rib (on and off)
Achey upper back (from lunchtime onwards but not terrible)
Slightly uncomfortable in diaphragm area
Slightly achey joints from time to time

That’s all...otherwise I feel normal.

I’ve homeschooled, been for a 30 min walk, made lunch, done washing, tidied up, made dinner. Just had a lie down for half an hour but didn’t fall asleep. If I rest the aches and pains reduce.

Casino218 · 07/04/2020 18:00

@longshot good to hear you are on the mend. The walk was about an hour but long enough. DH struggled with it more than me. About 4 days ago I would not have been able to do that walk as it was up a steep woodland slope at the end. We do sound like we have very similar residual symptoms.

Tangledyarn · 07/04/2020 18:00

@pinkoneblueone I'm also asthmatic, doubled my symbicort and on antibiotics, had some phone appts but not been seen, my understanding is they are not really seeing people (at least in my area) unless you call an ambulance or they think you need an admission which even if you are very breathless if you are able to speak a few words you dont generally. It would be nice to be seen (am on wk 5) but I don't think the treatment would be any different and its risky for the clinician.

SchrodingersKitty · 07/04/2020 18:00

More news about my DH's health issues. He had another instance of confusion today so wanted me to call 999. The paramedics came and assessed him and thought he was ok to stay at home as A & E would not be able to do any more for him until test results came through. His haematology doctor called this afternoon to say that having looked at the scan they are now pretty confident it is secondary lymphoma in the nervous system. They want him in tomorrow for a lumbar puncture and to put him on steroids. He'll be at home for the treatment. Once they have the results they'll decide what else to do. All very scary. Trying to find someone without possible corona symptoms who can drive him in has also been tough. Just the worst time for this - though I suppose later in the virus chaos would be worse. Now really really crossing everything that what I had was covid-19.

pinkoneblueone · 07/04/2020 18:06

@Tangledyarn I’m on day 29, I was supposed to be admitted for having had an asthma attack yesterday and I didn’t want to go and then it settled but I have needed my inhaler more as a result so asthma uk wanted me to be seen however my doctor said to just check my peak flow and reduce my salbutamol for now as it’s making my heart race. I have steroids if I need them but he has told me to hold off on taking them for now.

stayathomegardener · 07/04/2020 18:07

@longshot day 26 still don't feel right but up and about getting my own meals but mainly sunbathing today so definitely on the up.

Glad you found the iodine of use.

@TheDrsWife46 photo of loyal dog please. Will brighten the thread up.

TheDrsWife46 · 07/04/2020 18:11

Oh god @SchrodingersKitty I am so sorry that it’s come back as another lymphoma and that you’ve all experienced another frightening episode. I watched a great video earlier on youtube by a cardiologist ‘Medlife Crisis’ if you search the channel name. He was talking about all the patients missing out on care or calling for help through fear of either catching Covid or bothering the doctors etc. He said his cardiac unit was the quietest its been and not to worry about persuing your usual care for other conditions as that is what they are there for. So whilst Covid is consuming the world, your DH has other health needs and his ward etc will surely be briefed on supporting him even if they help him in full PPE. Can the hospital arrange volunteer transport of you cant find someone? I’m so sorry that you are going through all of this at this time. Sad

Great update @Casino218 that description of the last of the chest pain fits mine perfectly so it's good to know that you continue to improve and don't feel you are harbouring a secondary infection.

As I'm fretting slightly that I need antibiotics.

Tangledyarn · 07/04/2020 18:16

@pinkoneblueone Yeah it's a tricky one, I think they are happy to see people as emergencies or for admitting, I've been in a similar position. I guess see how you go but remember you can always go to a&e if you think you need to.

user34254356 · 07/04/2020 18:21

@emichel02 thanks for sharing. My chest pain and racy heartbeat is back again today after a small trip up and down the stairs. So frustrating. I might try a short walk like you tomorrow to see how my stamina is. I haven't attempted any walk outside for fear for the racy heart beat and icy feeling in the chest.

pinkoneblueone · 07/04/2020 18:21

I think I will only go over if they need me to, I hate the whole unknown with this virus, its awful, Thankfully things have been settled apart from the odd bit of back pain and chest pain. I can take some paracetamol now thankfully.

TheWooisStrong · 07/04/2020 18:23

@longshot you've just described my symptoms to a tee. I'm a day or so behind you I think.

Although I have the addition of wheezing when inhaling in, and coughing up phlegm. The antibiotics (or perhaps time) has helped though, I'm feeling brighter every day.

stayathomegardener · 07/04/2020 18:26

@Goatymcgoaty yes to all those pains, around day ummm 10-14 ish and weird tight throat from the beginning.

@LetsBeSensible I had a similar dip around that time too. I love, love, love your guide. I'd just put it up yourself!

@SchrodingersKitty I'm so sorry to hear your DH's update. I had everything crossed he wouldn't have another episode before you got the results. Tough even in normal times. Thanks
