This is actually very upsetting to hear although sadly unsurprising. His poor family. I'm not particularly a fan of him as a politician (although he's better than many of the rest) but he's certainly an individual. Vivacious, entertaining, witty. What a shame he didn't stick to writing, history, and entertainment. I hope he pulls through.

Sammymommy I just don't think that sort of thing happens. Think how many times Twitter killed off Prince Philip. We all found out Diana had died in pretty much real time. This is such a sad and scary time I think we should live with the news we have, which improves or worsens as time goes by.

Please can we all stop "I don't like him/his politics/his lifestyle etc and just wish him well.

If he is in the ICU things are very bleak for him. Please listen to me now. Anyone who works in critical care will tell you this.

I can't explain how bad I feel about this.
I'm not sure why as I have never met him but his always been around and such a larger than life character.
Surely he can't carry on now. Even if he comes out of there he will be poorly for ages.
