Does anyone know how his health is and how he’s doing?

OP posts:
dottiedodah · 06/04/2020 13:36

I wasnt too keen on him at first ,however he has done a sterling job in looking after us all in the last few weeks ,and has really gone up in my estimation.I was sorry to hear he is ill ,and wish him a speedy recovery ,he will be needing to rest for a while, and leave the running of our country to his deputies .Maybe he could have a week or so at home when he recovers, and watch some of the great box sets BBC 1 i player has treated us to?

AnyFucker · 06/04/2020 14:14

People who work in critical care know that

  1. he will not be sitting in bed on O2 and still running the country
  2. he will not have been admitted for anything "routine" or "precautionary"
  3. he will not gain anything further by having "access to the best private care available"

After all that, his body will fight it off or it will not. Just like everyone else.

@SansaSnark - I think it's a combination of not wanting the public and the markets to panic

OhTheRoses · 06/04/2020 18:45

Or, because I'm v cynical, there's a degree of staging around it to scare the public into staying in during a gloriously sunny run up to Easter.

lljkk · 06/04/2020 19:05

Locally, only about 10% of those in hospital go to critical care.

I would like the govt to explain what is the plan if BJ suddenly gets much worse. They should have a plan for that they can share.

Frownette · 06/04/2020 19:12

Dominic Raab

They do.

Dominic Raab will take over if Boris cannot work.

changemynamechangemynamewhen · 06/04/2020 19:22

Dominic Raab hasn't spoke to him since Saturday yet says he's running the country from his hospital bed. He's critically ill would be my guess

lljkk · 06/04/2020 19:29

Dominic Raab will take over if Boris cannot work

I tried to listen to the press conference today but didn't hear Raab say that (DH and I have a running joke on how sophorific Raab's voice is, so maybe I missed the words and had a nap instead). Raab seemed to dodge the question in my mind, from journalists, pretend that the answer was not needed.

LadyTiredWinterBottom2 · 06/04/2020 19:39

I can't see how we would stay in hospital as a precaution when he knows it might look bad if another critical patient didn't get a bed.

My mum is fit but has been a long term smoker. it's day 8 for her and she still has a temperature. It's a worry. She thinks she's getting better then she gets worse 🙄😔🤞

MarshaBradyo · 06/04/2020 19:41

I keep changing my mind on whether it’s being played down a lot or not, I guess we’ll know soonish.

SouthWestmom · 06/04/2020 19:44

I just don't think it works like that. We are told he is doing ok, why assume he is taking up any type of critical bed? If someone needed a ventilator he probably isn't on one anyway.
I don't see why we wouldn't be told this stuff; things would leak anyway.

Medievalist · 06/04/2020 19:45

They had a cabinet meeting this morning which Raab chaired. If Boris was working from his hospital bed he would have dialled into that meeting so that he could hear the discussion first hand. If he had dialled in then Raab would have presumably spoken to him today.

So I think it's safe to assume that Boris wasn't well enough to listen in on what his cabinet were saying.

If Boris wasn't well enough to do that then I would expect that - again. If he's still in charge of the country - he would have wanted a debrief from the person who chaired the cabinet briefing ... Raab.

I assume that if you hand over the chairing of a cabinet meeting to someone else and aren't even well enough to hear what went on ... then you really aren't up to running the country.

I also think it beggars belief that nobody anticipated the question, "when did you last speak to the PM?" and thought to at least arrange a 30 second conversation between the two of them so Raab could say in all honesty that he had spoken to him today.

Rosehip10 · 06/04/2020 20:14

bojo in intensive care - just announced

Stressedteacher2435 · 06/04/2020 20:18

OMG he’s been taken to intensive care! 😢😢

AwrightDoreenTakeAFuckinDayOff · 06/04/2020 20:18

Not what I wanted to hear.

Come on Bojo. Get well soon.

Applejaxx · 06/04/2020 20:19

Bloody hell. This is worrying.

SouthWestmom · 06/04/2020 20:20

Poor bloke. What a terrible time this is.

MarieQueenofScots · 06/04/2020 20:21

Poor chap. Very worrying news.

MarshaBradyo · 06/04/2020 20:21

Boris get better

I really feel for him, this is hard to hear

AwrightDoreenTakeAFuckinDayOff · 06/04/2020 20:23

I’m lucky to have not been affected by this at all and my loved ones remain well. I’m pure heart sorry for everyone who has been affected.

What a terrible time this is

Yes it is

I read something like people get covid 19 and get ill, then feel a bit better and then some go rapidly down hill. Which is what i assume has happened with boris, and probably explains why im not sleeping well following my daughter being very ill with covid like symptoms

Im sure she will be fine, and i hope we can eventually say the same about the vast majority of people with symptoms

vanillandhoney · 06/04/2020 20:24

He's said Raab is now in charge until he's better.

Sammymommy · 06/04/2020 20:24

The paranoid in me is a bit worried that something horrible happened and they are gently announcing step by step... I really hope I am being an absolute idiot and Boris recovers fast.

BishopBrennansArse · 06/04/2020 20:25

Thought as much.
Whilst I don't care for the man at all I wouldn't wish this on anyone and hope he recovers.
