Does anyone know how his health is and how he’s doing?

hope neither you or your loved ones become unwell with it

My very dear friend is in ICU, she became ill in the week BJ and his cronies kept the schools open and were talking about herd immunity.

Not left wing nastiness, facts.

I wish everyone with this a speedy recovery but the government’s actions two weeks ago, headed up by BJ, have led to the situation we are in in this country.

Probably not much, but let's be fair, he's going to get much more focus and intervention than a random member of the public. The experience he has in hospital won't be what anyone else experiences. He's the PM - they're going to do everything the can do to keep him alive, and if that means early intervention, then that's what he'll get.

Yes certainly, but my point was it will be NHS staff doing this. Private healthcare only takes you so far.

KenDodd · 06/04/2020 12:06

I wonder if the NHS nurses treating him have watched the clip of him and his Tory colleagues cheering as they voted down a pay rise for them? I've seen reports of some nurses having to visit food banks to feed their families, what was it Rees-Mogg said about food banks? They're wonderful to have or something? This is the same Rees-Mogg his company is rubbing its hands in glee to the money they can make from CV. Nice right wing Daily Mail link.

VegetableMunge · 06/04/2020 12:12

That thought had occurred to me KenDodd.

UYScuti · 06/04/2020 12:25

The tory prime minister's fate is in the hands of the nurses
the nurses that the Tory party has systematically devalued and impoverished are now expected to risk their lives to save the privileged people who happily threw them under the bus

OliviaPopeRules · 06/04/2020 12:29

You know that video is doctored don't you, they were not laughing at nurses not getting payrises or perhaps you don't care because it just helps your hateful agenda.

KenDodd · 06/04/2020 12:32

Yes, and the doctors and nurses will do it. They will provide the best care possible care for the people who systematically and repeatedly devalued and underfunded them.

KenDodd · 06/04/2020 12:33

OliviaPopeRules
Ok, please post the actual video of Tory MPs voting down a pay rise for nurses, I would genuinely like to see it.

UYScuti · 06/04/2020 12:37

they will provide the best care possible
And from this presumably we can conclude that doctors and nurses hold themselves to far higher standards of behaviour than do politicians!

whataboutbob · 06/04/2020 12:39

Nurses regularly care for people who don’t follow instructions, insult, lash out or sexually harass them. Bojo will be a walk in the park.

And? Doctors and nurses regular care for all sorts of people - prisoners, drug addicts, rapists, murderers, people who hit them, spit at them, smack them, injure them and verbally abuse them. They still treat all their patients to the best of their ability.

VegetableMunge · 06/04/2020 12:43

Personally I don't care if they were crying while they voted the pay rise down. They still did it, along with deliberately and systemically underfunding the NHS.

UYScuti · 06/04/2020 12:43

Surely after this the government will have to do right by the NHS?

BishopBrennansArse · 06/04/2020 12:46

Thing is there is no cure so doesn't matter what interventions he is given he will either overcome it or not.

Bit of a leveller, really, private medicine won't help.

OliviaPopeRules · 06/04/2020 12:46

I can't post the video because there is none and the video posted below could be a vote on anything because it doesn't actually say what they are voting on. Jesus how stupid are you.

SansaSnark · 06/04/2020 12:47

Does anyone else think that Boris might be iller than they are letting on? Sunday night seems an odd time for someone to go in for routine tests, even the Prime Minister. I think the fact that they wanted him to stay in over night is concerning.

And apparently it is possible he will spend more nights in hospital? This was reported on the Guardian live blog, but I can't now find it. I wonder if they are downplaying the situation to try and keep people from panicking.

feistymumma · 06/04/2020 12:51

@SansaSnark I think so too, thought that when I saw the clip of him clapping for the nurses. Metro just reported that he is on oxygen.

vanillandhoney · 06/04/2020 13:04

Metro just reported that he is on oxygen

They've actually said "Boris Johnson was reportedly treated with oxygen after being admitted to hospital for ‘routine’ coronavirus tests." Being treated with oxygen is pretty standard for an illness like this and isn't the same as being on a ventilator or anything.

Just worth making that point clear before the ghouls come out with "I told you so".

Mrhodgeymaheg · 06/04/2020 13:11

I do feel for him and I don't even like him that much.

That said, if he is off sick and not working he can take comfort in the fact he'll be getting a very generous £94 a week.

PearPickingPorky · 06/04/2020 13:16

This virus really is the great leveller, isn't it.

Oneliner · 06/04/2020 13:20

Let's hope he has time to think about why he voted against a pay rise for nurses.

DressingGownofDoom · 06/04/2020 13:24

@PearPickingPorky it is indeed. I've never been a fan of Johnson or any of the Tories. But he's our PM and it's worrying that he's clearly pretty ill.

Barrique · 06/04/2020 13:29

It was well reported and that clip was used widely in the media at the time. 28th June 2017.

And you'd probably have to work quite hard to find a division with exactly the same number of ayes / noes.
